Recruits Visiting This Weekend
Well fella's this is the home stretch before the early signing period December 19th.
Anthony Solomon 4 star OLB
Cornelius Johnson 4 star WR
Danielson Ike 3 star OT
Sam Snyder 3 star TE
How many do we get, and if Trevor Keegan picks the good guys, do we still take Ike. I like Ike.
With the attrition we've had this year, and the attrition we may get after the bowl game, how many spots are available? Have a good weekend boys and girls, and Go Blue!

Sorry, didn't spell check, and misspelled Visitors. Ugh.......
December 14th, 2018 at 1:42 PM ^
also, weekend's
December 14th, 2018 at 1:50 PM ^
And.... I didn't even notice.
For that I, too, am sorry.
December 14th, 2018 at 3:12 PM ^
Also "fella's", but no big deal. Thanks for the info/link.
December 14th, 2018 at 2:17 PM ^
don't worry, it's near the end of the physical year
December 14th, 2018 at 2:21 PM ^
I changed the title up a bit - thank you for posting.
December 14th, 2018 at 5:03 PM ^
Thanks for the edit
December 14th, 2018 at 1:25 PM ^
sam snyder will not be at michigan this weekend per 247
December 14th, 2018 at 1:27 PM ^
Maybe it’s because Gentry was considering leaving and has decided to come back for one more season.
December 14th, 2018 at 2:10 PM ^
I guess he dropped the ball on that one too.
December 14th, 2018 at 2:19 PM ^
Either that or the time to make his decision rushed right past him like a DE sacking a QB.
December 14th, 2018 at 2:30 PM ^
Zing!
December 14th, 2018 at 2:35 PM ^
Heyo!
December 14th, 2018 at 2:11 PM ^
I would gladly swap those two.
December 14th, 2018 at 1:25 PM ^
Snyder isn't visiting anymore, he was a late scratch. Think these visits push Solomon and Johnson over the edge for Michigan, though. Don't think the staff will take Ike if Keegan picks Michigan tonight like everyone expects .
December 14th, 2018 at 2:13 PM ^
I think OL is a position group you really load up on-bring these kids in and see who the real deals are. I believe that, not only is Ike a take but so is little Dewand-even if Keegan commits. Michigan needs to give Warinner a full room and more to flip and build a better O-line culture. Here, the improvement last year was excellent but it needs to continue to ascend.
Hopefully Cornelius comes. I'm not sure Solomon is a take at this time-I am certain that DeLoach is more valued.
December 14th, 2018 at 2:43 PM ^
Solomon and Deloach are both takes. They play different positions
December 14th, 2018 at 4:21 PM ^
Keegan puts us at 6 OL in this class, and you have two more as takes? Hard no.
December 14th, 2018 at 6:51 PM ^
Could be many firm hand shakes this winter. Keegan will surely commit within the next hour or two...Ike would not be "visiting" if he were not a take-Warinner likes him. And if Warinner believes Dawand Jones is a worthy project-I think he takes him too. There are a lot of ways to make space.
December 14th, 2018 at 1:25 PM ^
Sam Snyder no longer visiting. Wouldn't be surprised if Ike doesn't have a spot after Keegan announces tonight.
December 14th, 2018 at 1:29 PM ^
I hope we take both Keegan and Ike. I know that both Stewart and Barnhart can play tackle, but their best position would be guard. Having 3 solid options for tackle would be great.
December 14th, 2018 at 1:51 PM ^
Even if Michigan would take Ike, would Ike want to be part of a 7 man OL class?
December 15th, 2018 at 7:51 AM ^
The athletic and positional flexibility of the recruits being brought in is most intriguing. Presently there are concerns about the TE and LB numbers of this roster and class. Maybe Barnhart slides the other way and plays TE...or they make him an MLB-wouldn't that be interesting...with Ross and McGrone as the OLBs! The kid is a pretty nice athlete.
December 14th, 2018 at 2:10 PM ^
Ike's recruitment has been interesting. I expect Keegan has already told the coaches where he's going. No inside info, just that's what is typical.
I can see Ike as a wildcard. If there's room, take the best available prospect. Could be Ike, could be taking both DeLoach and Solomon.
December 14th, 2018 at 3:16 PM ^
Ike's timeline (NSD announcement) sets him up as a best player available if there's room guy.
Believe Dawand Jones set a December date so unless he pushes that back we can probably assume a Keegan commit means no Jones.
Would be shocked by a 7 OL early signing period.
December 14th, 2018 at 5:27 PM ^
We like Ike!
December 14th, 2018 at 1:34 PM ^
I say we bring them all in!
December 14th, 2018 at 2:40 PM ^
Is this Danny Devito?
December 14th, 2018 at 3:16 PM ^
No, Robert Downey Jr. after another bender.
December 14th, 2018 at 10:42 PM ^
I thought it was Cheech Marin as he sees himself.
December 14th, 2018 at 1:37 PM ^
If I had to bet, I'd say we get Keegan tonight and Solomon and Johnson some time this weekend.
December 14th, 2018 at 1:46 PM ^
Johnson is announcing on the 19th.
December 14th, 2018 at 1:50 PM ^
That's why I don't bet! Hopefully a silent this weekend then?
December 14th, 2018 at 1:39 PM ^
I believe the class will be 27 or 28, so that means four or five more.
1. Keegan
2. Harrison
3. Solomon
4. DeLoach
5. Johnson
-Now...if Dax wants back in (not holding my breath at all) maybe we only take one of the LBs. If Harrison or any of the other 3 go elsewhere (probably very likely we won’t get all of them), then we probably take fliers on some other guys like Ike, a late WR offer etc.
December 14th, 2018 at 2:01 PM ^
Sam Webb was reiterating in the podcast that there is a LOT of stuff going on/still to emerge on the Daxton Hill recruitment. I think he believes that Hill will make it back to the good guys.
December 14th, 2018 at 2:06 PM ^
He also believed Najee and Dashawn Hand would end up at Michigan. Michigan vs Bama for a 5 star hasn't gone well regardless of Sam thinks. I also don't think Harrison is very likely.
Getting Keegan and Johnson is huge to meet two gaping needs in this class.
December 14th, 2018 at 2:27 PM ^
"He also believed Najee and Dashawn Hand would end up at Michigan."
Webb never gave a "gut feeling to Michigan" for Hand, and said repeatedly in the weeks leading up to Hand's announcement that if Hand made a "football decision"—I.E., a decision based on what was the strongest program—that Hand would sign with Alabama.
Najee Harris was basically all but enrolled at Michigan—he had a dorm room assignment and a variety of other things that new UM students customarily get when they're about to start school. Webb can't be faulted for Harris's flip to Alabama.
Whatever is prompting Sam's assertion that the recruitment of Hill isn't over seems contradicted by this interview, which clearly shows there's no hesitation or second-guessing on Dax's part. To use Sam's phrasing, Hill made a "football decision"—all the talk about what Michigan can bring to a recruit outside of the field of play was less important than what happens on the field.
Which makes Hill about the eleventy-hundredth elite-level recruit we've gone after in the last 20 years who asserts during the recruiting phase that "education is just as important as football" who eventually signs with a school that is dramatically lower-rated as an institution but *surprise* just happens to have a football program that is more successful at the moment than Michigan.
Lather, rinse, repeat.
December 14th, 2018 at 2:08 PM ^
Color me skeptical.
His recent comments didn’t make it seem like a kid that was struggling with a decision or someone who had been duped by Alabama as some have speculated.
December 14th, 2018 at 2:13 PM ^
Agree. I like Sam as much as the next guy, but I think he was caught off guard or blindsided and thus doesn't want to appear out of the loop, so we have this undercurrent coming from him saying it is not over.
December 14th, 2018 at 2:28 PM ^
I highly doubt Sam is trying to save face by looking even more out of the loop than before, but we'll see I guess.
December 14th, 2018 at 3:22 PM ^
The beauty of recruiting is he can say Michigan was back in it but couldn't quite close the deal and nobody could say he was wrong and his supporters will back him.
He's a sunshine blower for the program. He gets positive news and can be reliable on that front but he also works to make the program look as good as possible and in this case it helps recruiting to make it seem like we didn't just get dropped like a hot potato by our top rated guy due to getting embarrased by OSU
December 14th, 2018 at 3:48 PM ^
Do you actually have a 247 Sports account, or are you just bashing Sam without even knowing what he's said about Hill's recruitment?
December 14th, 2018 at 4:01 PM ^
No sam, we don't have a membership. But please tell us what else we need to know about Dax's recruitment. Thanks
December 14th, 2018 at 5:55 PM ^
"make it seem like we didn't just get dropped like a hot potato by our top rated guy due to getting embarrased by OSU"
"Sunshine blower" Webb has stated many times over the past two weeks that Zach Harrison was significantly impacted by the way the OSU game went, and not in a way favorable to Michigan. He's also stated repeatedly that the loss should not be all on the players—that the Michigan coaching staff bears major responsibility.
December 14th, 2018 at 5:47 PM ^
"but I think he was caught off guard or blindsided"
By all accounts, so was the Michigan staff.
December 14th, 2018 at 8:47 PM ^
Word is that even Alabama coaches were caught off guard by this.
December 14th, 2018 at 1:41 PM ^
When are we gonna get a legitimate TE that’s a high 4*-5* type. No more projects. We either can’t get them or can’t keep them cause of transfers etc: we need a good TE soon
December 14th, 2018 at 1:46 PM ^
Mustapha Muhammad was a high 4 star rated 168 overall and the #6 TE.
