Some more details:
Kurelic said one source told him that OSU/PSU are on top with Michigan behind them but that no one outside the family really knows. PSU guys aren't confident fwiw.
Al Washington and Greg Mattison are visiting him tomorrow at school.

If you’re here, who is running hell?
December 13th, 2018 at 7:49 PM ^
Pre-Med Dick?
December 13th, 2018 at 7:50 PM ^
If psu is ahead of us than you can’t blame our loss to OSU.
December 13th, 2018 at 7:54 PM ^
Sure you can. Franklin, at least, can say that he has beaten Ohio State as a coach.
December 13th, 2018 at 8:12 PM ^
I’ve heard more than one recruit say that franklin’s pitch is “I’m the first black coach to win the B1G, come help me be the first black coach to win a national championship”.
December 13th, 2018 at 8:14 PM ^
James Franklin is black?
December 13th, 2018 at 8:17 PM ^
bravo
December 13th, 2018 at 8:43 PM ^
That was my EXACT thought when I heard that. I thought he had a tan.
December 14th, 2018 at 9:32 AM ^
Its pretty fucked up all these posts have upvotes
December 14th, 2018 at 3:31 PM ^
I agree. I hate when people have a sense of humor, too.

I once met a white guy who said he was 1/10 black. That 10% was enough for him to go with "man of color" as his personal identification.
December 13th, 2018 at 10:19 PM ^
It wouldn’t be enough for me to identify personally, but damn if I wouldn’t put it on a college application.
December 14th, 2018 at 8:17 AM ^
Our kids were on the same soccer team. He was heavily into genealogy. That's how he found that distant ancestor. He even had the man's picture saved in his phone.
I remember there was the white woman who had hair that would at least make it questionable until her parents blew that up by telling everyone she was white. This guy didn't have any of that. He was just white.
December 13th, 2018 at 11:55 PM ^
Huh, learn something new every day.
December 15th, 2018 at 12:26 AM ^
In an Elizabeth Warren sort of way.
December 13th, 2018 at 9:08 PM ^
I assume those recruits were Mormon.
December 13th, 2018 at 11:31 PM ^
I can’t recall who repeated that the first time I heard it, but it was definitely a black kid. Franklin is a used car salesman as much as he is a coach.
December 14th, 2018 at 12:18 AM ^
Not to be a Debbie Downer, but after the OSU historic arse whooping, Zach is gone.
December 14th, 2018 at 5:49 AM ^
For the record, I find that to be a really shitty reason to base your decision on where to spend the next 4 years of your life getting your education and playing football.
I think it comes down to how much he likes Ryan Day, which is obviously much more than he liked Urban.
December 14th, 2018 at 8:01 AM ^
I can absolutely understand why recruits wouldn't like Urban, but disliking Urban and liking James Franklin? It's like choosing the guy trying to sell you a used Porsche vs the guy trying to sell you a used Dodge Stratus: they're both assholes, but in one case, you get a Porsche.
December 14th, 2018 at 9:08 AM ^
Urban was a lot of (bad) things, but he was a good coach. Franklin is Franklin. If Zach chooses PSU over OSU or Michigan, I have no idea how he came to that decision.
December 13th, 2018 at 10:31 PM ^
Imagine hating the team you claim to love this much. This is getting sad for you.
December 13th, 2018 at 7:40 PM ^
I don't need this kind of negativity in my life
December 13th, 2018 at 7:44 PM ^
It’s Maizen, so he can’t wait to post negative recruiting news for Michigan. We should just get used to this until next year when we beat OSU.
December 13th, 2018 at 7:51 PM ^
Two maizens, actually.
This is not an inappropriate topic--it's significant recruiting news in an otherwise low-news season. The OP is all facts. My general position with Shawn is that some of his stuff is good and I try to encourage it, because he's capable of quality content at times.
December 13th, 2018 at 8:33 PM ^
You're on a first name basis with Maizen? To quote Nancy Kerrigan... Whhhhyyyyyyyyyyy !?
December 13th, 2018 at 9:25 PM ^
Virtually all of his content is just copy pasted from 247 posts. I mean, there is some credit to be given to someone for doing that work, but this isn't some deep investigating going on.
December 14th, 2018 at 7:25 AM ^
"Virtually all of his content is just copy pasted from 247"
Like, anyone who's ever posted any information here? Like anyone who ever has written anything here?
It's ALL copy pasted from some other source. It's a message board, not the Investigative Sports Journal
December 13th, 2018 at 9:16 PM ^
Plus one for enthusiasm!!
December 13th, 2018 at 7:41 PM ^
I'm kind of glad my kids are just pretty good athletes who had/have awesome times playing HS sports.
December 13th, 2018 at 10:21 PM ^
What!? Who doesn't wish their kids were 3* football players coming to Michigan so the board can shit on them?
December 13th, 2018 at 7:41 PM ^
Shit. Not devastating like a flip to OSU, but not great.
December 13th, 2018 at 7:47 PM ^
Oh, after that shit show? It's OSU.
December 13th, 2018 at 8:02 PM ^
I wonder, do you ever get tired of being such a tool?
December 13th, 2018 at 7:43 PM ^
Goodness. Gonna miss out on the only two blue chips we had in the class. The hits just keep coming.
December 13th, 2018 at 7:45 PM ^
It went foggy meaning hes not sure. He didnt flip it to OSU. Chill the fuck out.
December 13th, 2018 at 7:45 PM ^
This year is going to be a real referendum on the staff's ability to close on elite recruits. They whiffed on every major target they wanted down the stretch last year, can't do that again this year.
December 13th, 2018 at 7:52 PM ^
Whats Keegan? Whats Charbbonnet? Chris Hinton? Mazi smith? I think they are top targets and recruits they had to fight for.
Are you aware of the reports saying Dax may flip back?
They blew the OSU game that has more to do with whats happening than the staffs ability to close.
December 13th, 2018 at 7:55 PM ^
Maybe the post meant to say close strong on open targets not ones that committed. So far. s/
December 13th, 2018 at 10:28 PM ^
This narrative professed by Maizen and his ilk was chambered months ago, and no amount of reality will change that.
This was the same stuff being professed by them about Beilein and the basketball team. It's tiring in its laziness.
December 13th, 2018 at 9:18 PM ^
you are so right...who were their major targets again?
December 13th, 2018 at 9:57 PM ^
Just stop posting forever FFS.
December 14th, 2018 at 12:09 AM ^
Probably more meta than on topic but anyone have a timeline on that ignore function availability? Thanks. I'll hang up and listen .
December 13th, 2018 at 9:53 PM ^
No blue chips? I'm sure Zach Charbonnet will be crushed to hear your well reasoned opinion.
December 14th, 2018 at 7:42 AM ^
1) We never "had" Harrison
2) We still have a legitimate shot at Hill
3) We still have Charbonet, Hinton, Smith, Rumler, Jones, Perry, McNamara, & Jackson. If you don't think kids in the top 100 are blue chips I don't know what to tell you.
December 14th, 2018 at 11:50 AM ^
For what it's worth, I'm an OSU fan, and I really hope you get Hill back. I'm so tired of schools doing months of relationship building and hard work, only for Alabama to swoop in at the last moment and flip recruits.
