Basketball 10-0 POSBANG

Today's game speaks to how scary good this team is: they can have an off night defensively and give up a season-high 78 points, play sloppy offensively and eclipse their season average in turnovers, and still cruise to a double-digit win. GO BLUE.

Good to get the win. Teachable moments for the team. Hope to develop a backup center by March.

Otherwise this team seems to continue to be developing. Very good start to the season obviously. They can still improve which is a scary thought.

Exactly.  I think other than our 16-0 start in 2012-2013 season, this may be our best start in program history.  I could be off by a game or two...  but we have better wins this year than the 2012 team had.

If people arent basketball fans, or just want to sit in their football misery for 9 months, then GTFO of these threads and let the rest of us basketball fans enjoy the season.

Season high pts given up is a bit misleading

SC had 75 possessions and avg 1.08 ppp, which is decent defense.

Normal game yields about 60 possessions, so not too worried. SC game plan was pretty solid- attacking in isolation and forcing M to play 1on1 with not much help available.

Where do you see 75 possessions?  KenPom has 71 possessions, which matches the box score.  Even if you were correct, 1.08 ppp is not "decent defense" -- it's well below average defense, especially against a team that came in with a 104 ORtg.  Heck, this is the first time this year Michigan has allowed over 1 ppp.

Also, Michigan hasn't played a game as slow as 60 possessions this season.  The slowest was Northwestern, with 61.  Their adjusted tempo is 66 on KenPom; 64-66 seems about right.

This was definitely the worst game Michigan has played defensively; no ifs, ands, or buts.

I'm not losing any sleep over it, but call it what it is.
