4 Star out of Maryland  - 24/7 saying they are working on a visit to A2.

Top 2 schools right now include Ohio State and Penn State.

Ojabo has been playing inside...I believe Michigan keeps developing him in this direction. If they grow this kid out to 6'6" 310-320 pounds or even more he will be a force to be reckoned with-as good or better than Hurst. Remember, this kid has run an 11 flat 100! And, while he projects well as a DE, to have a talent with his twitch dominating in the middle is a huge difference-maker for a DL. Any DT that demands double teaming creates so many opportunities for the larger defensive schemes. And I expect Mazi to be a similar force. Hinton is almost certainly moving inside. In 2020, with Solomon, Smith, Ojabo and Hinton inside...oh my!!! The future is very bright!

Article on 247 says he was all but ticketed to OSU for a while and then they kinda fell of with the things they have had going on there over the last couple of months followed by the change in coach that you might have heard about. This might just be michigan throwing their name in the ring now, and seeing how things play out with the rest of the class and numbers and having someone to take if a few of the other targets don’t come to michigan.

Or just healthy ones. We played all year without a 5 star DT who we certainly could have used. We can add talent at DT, but I think the IU and OSU games probably feel slightly different if Solomon was healthy this year.

Also, we're not going to get more talented DEs than the ones we had this year, so probably no use wishing for that. As talented DEs would be phenomenal, but even future NFL DEs have bad games rushing the passer. At some point we as fans need to accept that we played poorly that day and that is why we lost. We have a ton of blue-chip kids on the field, which is why we looked dominant all year. They played poorly and it snow-balled. Doesn't mean Gary and Chase and Co. aren't talented.

You really spent "much of the year" wishing we had other players on defense when we completely destroyed most of our opponents and statistically had one of the best defenses in the country? I'd hate to get you for white elephant gift exchange.

Besides the OSU blunder and maybe ND, we kicked everyone in the dick.

Weird offer, especially when we just processed a DT in this class.  He looks fine on film, not a must have IMO.  I guess taking zero DTs last year leaves a hole in the roster.

Weird to want to replace Woods with 247's #8 DT? I don't believe Woods left the class because we were getting too many DL.

It's somewhat unusual that we just start recruiting a highly ranked recruit so late, but there seems to be mutual interest. Maybe that's a recent change on his part. The fallout of OSU's uncertain coaching situation and now Meyer's departure hasn't been losing 2019 commits, but in losing interest from their main targets.

They were saving a spot for Karlaftis? That certainly fits the timing of the offer.

There are things we don't know about the Woods offer. Could have been conditional on having room for him. That fits with his own statement when he decommitted. Showing serious interest helps recruit Belleville and there was the chance he would show out as a senior.

As long as everyone was on the same page about the offer, I can't see any downside to it. Frankly it's hard to see them just pulling Woods' offer when that's a school they were working hard to rebuild a relationship with. I suspect his coach would have spoken up by now.

To the poster above you. Other schools send out late offers too. So did our coaches before Harbaugh.
