ESPNs BPI meter came close to dunking on a couple board members

Good conference road win. Good to see us pull out a close one as well. Go Blue!!!

I can understand a small part of you wanting a loss that is overall good for the program, for example, a loss so a coach gets fired and the program gets turned around may be a good loss overall for the program, even if bad in that short window. I get that. I've been there.

But an in-conference loss when 8-0 to prove a point to people on a message board? My god. Please smother and bury that small part of you...

Michigan's last regular season loss came at Northwestern.  It is a good win.  I think this Northwestern team makes the NCAA tournament.  Lost at Indiana by 2 points.

Reminded me of Andrew Gaze of Seton Hall's shot at the end of the 1989 championship game. Every time I watch the replay, I think it's going to go in. Damn good gutty win.

Thank God we won that National Championship game.  And we won it as close as you can, but we won it.

Michigan lost in four more National Championship games after that.  But you could always hang your hat on the fact that they already won one before that.

I don't think I could handle 0-7 lifetime in National Championships.

No matter what else happens, we've won it.

Yup, it's hard to believe it, but conference road games are hard to win. We see it every year. Games at schools like Northwestern, Iowa, Nebraska, etc are usually coin flip games, even when they're not top25ish programs. That doesn't even factor in struggling upper level programs with rowdy crowds like Ohio State, IU, Maryland. Rarely do you have a pushover road game in conference.

I scoffed at their prediction, and will continue to do so, ESPN sucks. The fact that they suck, sucks, because this guy used to watch a lot of their programming.

Go Blue!! Holy hell, that was a close one. Fucking Chris Collins, that creep can coach, man.

One of the dumbest and weirdest things in sports discussion is people complaining about other people's predictions before the event has taken place i.e. when no-one knows how smart or stupid a prediction actually is.

Maybe the downside of all this 'we're a basketball school now' B.S. is that the entitlement and arrogance that has poisoned Michigan football is now coming to the basketball scene as well. Every basketball team in the country will lose a number of games this year...so one day soon Michigan will drop a game you fully expect to win. And it could easily have been this one.

While laughing like a little school girl, I told my wife last week to “remind me that we beat North Carolina by 17 when I’m pissed we lost to NorthWestern later in the season.”  Didn’t realize the NW game was this week and that we could actually lose.  The arrogance has most certainly set in, but it’s better than BPONE.

I was just going to come here and comment this

Some people here were acting like Michigan was for sure going to blowout NW at Evanston and ESPN should've had us as huge favorites

Michigan does not play well @Northwestern. Honestly its probably where we play the worst under Beilein. I figured itd be our closest game of the season and that show it turned out. I didn't think itd be that close though

Don't fall victim to Type 1 error. If I walked up to every person I encountered and predicted they'd be pregnant within 3 months, I'd be right sometimes. I'd also probably be about as accurate as the BPI

The BPI must have been a work of genius to predict that we would have to get extensive minutes from the backup center. I mean, we were plus 17 with Teske and Livers at 5. Good call by BPI
