OT: Roll Call - Who made the playoffs in their fantasy league?

Submitted by I'm Batman on December 3rd, 2018 at 11:23 PM

And what is your best starting line up.

My team slid in at 7-6, winning 3 of the last 4. The last loss by 1 point against the league leader. Followed by wins over the other two playoff teams.

Starting line up

QB Kirk Cousins - Fuck you, don't judge me.

RB Leonard Fournette

RB David Johnson

WR TY Hilton

WR Adam Thielen

TE Eric Ebron

Flex Chris Carson

D/ST Vikings

K Sebastian Janikowski

Subs : Ekeler, Funchess, Sheppard, Williams, Gates, Hyde, Titans

How did you guys do?

Rule no., oh I dunno, 28, of manliness....no one gives a shit about your fantasy team!

But yea...I shat the bed this year.  Drafted really poorly in the RB department and could never get back on track with waiver wire.  Had Brees, Odell, Cooper Kupp, Austin Hooper and Evan Engram...and Rams defense. Calvin Ridley became my no. 2 when Kupp went down... Funchess, Godwin, some other meh guys for bench players.

Now my downfall.  Drafted Dalvin Cook for $54 (we start with 200)...instead of Gurley for $2 more a few picks prior.  Kenyan Drake, Royce Freeman, Jay Ajayi, and Carlos Hyde... have been playing Josh Adams for 2 weeks now.  Yuh....uhck, right?!  Some bad luck and just not great picks plus again, not jumping on a few waiver wire guys who became fantasy starters as I've done well at the past 4 years.  4 year playoff fun ended (1 champion, 2 runner ups, one 3rd).  Somehow won 4 games (4-8) and was very close in a few more...6-6 went to playoffs but I also had the 2nd lowest points for (obvi) so wouslnt have mattered if I squeezed a couple games out.

Ps.   First year doing PPR....I think it's lame.

Had a streaky season. Started 3-0, went on a 4 game losing streak, and now finished on a 6 game winning streak. Good for third out of twelve in the final standings at 9-4.

My current roster:
(Standard scoring/lineup)

QB: Luck, Goff

RB: Zeke, Conner, Mack, Lamar Miller, Spencer Ware

WR: Josh Gordon, DJ Moore, Tate, Sutton

TE: McDonald

D/ST: Bears

K: Santos

Well...Well...Well

Ended up T-1 with 2 others, but get the 2 seed based on tiebreaker (head to head record) - primary lineup as follows:

QB Deshaun Watson

RB Todd Gurley - my first pick at #2, our draft was 1.5 weeks before the season so Bell was taken #1

RB Chris Carson - initially had Jay Ajayi as my #2

WR Brandin Cooks

WR Larry Fitzgerald

TE Travis Kelce

Flex Doug Martin down the stretch - Funchess earlier in the year

D/ST Texans

K Fairbairn - started season with Matt Bryant, Jason Myers when Bryant went down, and eventually Fairbairn

Subs : Frank Gore, Kenny Stills, Willie Snead, Blount (recent pick-up), David Njoku, also had Dez Bryant for a while

12 team league so not as much depth as I would like. Definitely relatively weak at WR but more than make up for it at RB1 and TE, solid D/ST and K as well. Only regret was probably dropping DJ Moore around week 4

Finished first overall at 10-2-1 which naturally validates my worth as a human being.

QB: Rodgers

RB: Barkley

RB: Michel

WR: Adams

WR: Allen

TE: Kelce

Flex: Kerryon/Carson

D: Streaming

K: Fairbairn

One week left but already qualified.

QB - Rivers/Cousins

RB - Brieda, McCaffery, Cohen

WR - AJ Green, Calvin Ridley, DeSean Jackson, Alshon Jeffery, Donte Moncrief, Mo Sanu, DJ Moore (Sanu and Jackson are the only ones that I've had all season)

TE - Olsen (had Vance MacDonald when he was injured)

K - Tucker

D/ST - Vikings

I originally had Bell but someone offered Green and Brieda for him a few weeks into the season and I took it. I've been trying to find a decently consistent wideout to no luck, but my RBs, especially Hunt, have carried me through the season. I'm considering dropping Cousins for Josh Allen, especially given recent performance.

QB: Winston (drafted Trubisky with my third-to-last pick and then dropped him after a few weeks of shitty play)

RB1: Kamara

RB2: Breida

WR1: Tyreek

WR2: Mike Evans

TE: Trey Burton (TE is absolutely brutal this year)

FLEX: Golladay

D/ST: I stream every week

K: Tucker

Bench: Eli, Ekeler, Josh Adams, Alex Collins, Duke Johnson, Funchess, Tyler Boyd

As is tradition, I am number one in my work's fantasy league in scoring.  That almost never means that I'm number one in the league, as last year I didn't even make the playoffs with the top scoring team . Since there is a God in 2018, that means that this year I am number one in my league standings.

10 team league. I made zero trades. All drafted or FA pickups. Two losses by a combined 7 points. Starting lineup

Mahomes, Barkley, McCaffery, Lindsey, Thielen, Hilton, Kittle, Rams/Ravens D

TheKoolAidGuy

December 4th, 2018 at 5:38 AM ^

I'm 10-3, by virtue of throwing my last game to play a more desirable opponent in the playoffs.

11-2 is still a better record than 10-3.

Team Name: Zach Smith Beat Your Gurley

Matt Ryan/Russell Wilson

Todd Gurley

Aaron Jones/Lamar Miller

Antonio Brown

OBJ

Stefon Diggs

Cameron Brate/David Njoku

Bears D/ST

Greg Zuerlin (aka Legatron)

Was a weird league year as far as parity is concerned - everyone is either really good, really bad, or 6-7

11-2, two more weeks until playoffs, but I’ve already clinched.  Only 4 teams get in the playoffs in my league.  My lone two losses are against the same person, who beat me twice with crazy comeback wins.  And naturally if the playoffs started today, he would be my match-up.

QB1:  Watson

WR:  Evans

WR:  Diggs

RB:  Barkley

RB: Hunt errr Mack/Coleman/Ware

TE:  Kelce

Hybrid (QB/WR/TE/RB):  Winston

D:  Wagner

DEF:  Rams/NE

Kicker:  Gould

Bench:  Ryan, the combo of RB’s mentioned above, Brown from Baltimore

I make the playoffs every damn year but always go out quietly.  Hoping I can finally pull it off.

Had a rough start but I ended up with the highest point total the last few weeks. Drafting Mahomes was easily the best draft decision I've made. And that was coupled with Bell being my first pick, but that hasn't really hurt too bad since I have James Conner, Nick Chubb, AP, and Phillip Lindsay.

Ran into the Mahomes/Kelce buzzsaw in week 13 in both of my leagues to miss the playoffs in one league and lose in the first round (20 teams/2 "conferences") in the other.  Would have had a bye, but lost by .02 pts one week. Just needed one more passing yard that week!

Number 7

December 4th, 2018 at 8:53 AM ^

Finished 11-3 (we have a double game in week 13), thanks to Watson at QB, Adams at WR, and Kamara/McCaffery at RBs, and a fair amount of luck.  Our leauge's runaway points lead finished 5-9.

2nd place in the league with a 100 lead in points for over the guy in first place. Always frustrating because it means you caught everyone on their best week. Still, I'll take the first round bye.

In a 3-way tie for 7th on the last week, with Brees as my QB.

The two other teams win and I lose...to my seven-year-old son's team (which is now in third place) and miss the playoffs.

My fantasy team did make the playoffs somehow. I started off 0-5. I went 7-1 in my last 8 games. This last week was a "win and you're in" scenario for me vs. my brother-in-law. He had Kareem Hunt on his team...

December 4th, 2018 at 9:19 AM ^

User dlanny22 invited me to his 2 leagues this year. We both made the playoffs in each. Granted He earned the top seed each as opposed to my 4/6 seeds.

My best lineup would have to be:

QB- Deshawn Watson

RB- Saquan and Fournette

WR- Golden Tate and Allen Robinson

TE- Eric Ebron (drafted in the 10th)

K- Justin Tucker

D/ST- streamed all season

Backups included Aaron Jones and Crowell at RB, Alshon Jeffery and and Funchess at WR, and Baker Mayfield stepped up for Watson's bye week.

December 4th, 2018 at 9:22 AM ^

Finished first in the regular season in my first fantasy football effort (beginner’s luck!):

QB:  Matt Ryan

RBs:  Ezekiel Elliot, Saquon Barkley

WRs:  Julio Jones, Mike Evans

TE:  Travis Kelce

Flex:  Nick Chubb

D/ST:  Chicago Bears

K:  Ka’imi Fairbairn

Bench:  Mitchell Trubisky, Mark Ingram, Sony Michel, Sammy Watkins, Josh Gordon, Corey Davis, Denver Broncos

On to the playoffs!

You know whenever there's a thread that says "Roll call who's going to the game?" it means "I'm going to the game!"  And whenever there's a thread that says "Roll call who made the playoffs in their fantasy football league?" it really just means "I made the playoffs in my fantasy football league!"

MaizeAndBlueWahoo

December 4th, 2018 at 10:31 AM ^

No, it was the part where you asked, "Who made the playoffs?"  I didn't even need to read the post to know that you were going to say, "me, this guy, I made the playoffs."

Like I said: Any time someone asks "who's going to the game?" that person is guaranteed to be going to the game and is "asking" as a way of bragging about it.

I'm Batman

December 4th, 2018 at 11:38 AM ^

Yeah it is always just about bragging.  Not just reaching out to the fellow board members to see who also had success in a football related activity. How weird that someone would start a football related topic on a mostly football related blog.

At least we got guys like you around to call bullshit on things like this. What would we do without you?

RB - Aaron Jones

WR - Davante Adams

WR - Mike Evans

TE - George Kittle

FLEX -Kenny Golladay/Marlon Mack
