Has anyone else said they were sitting out besides Gary?

I haven't heard of anyone else announcing this intent, but I saw Adam Rittenburg post a quick overview of the Peach Bowl (among other bowls saying the UM "will be without several draft-eligible defensive standouts" without giving any names (http://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/25432433/picking-winners-every-bowl-game-matchup).  Rittenburg was a Big Ten reporter for a long time and could have some inside info, but this could also be a classic case of ESPN giving bogus claims again.

Don’t know where rittenberg is getting his info. There has been nothing public. However, you’re right that he was the big ten reporter for a while, so I’m sure he has some sources that tell him this. I’m thinking we’d know about this and it probably should have said “may” be without several draft eligible stand outs.

Really? JD had a couple bad games. A guy who never played a down of pro ball had a pretty good day against him at MSU, and Indiana had a pretty good day against him and don't forget who gave up the game winning TD against Florida St.  Corners get beat dumbass, it doesn't mean they are bad. Maybe you should compare the career stats between the 3 before you make a clueless comment.

Yes. You become completely baffled by an inscrutable scrivener who simply "prefers not to" do any work, and then next thing you know you're changing your office, and questioning your identity (along with your other two neurotic scriveners), and you don't know what's up or down.

This might be the unpopular view, but if guys aren't coming back next year, I'd rather them sit out and let some other guys get valuable experience.  Those snaps that could've gone to Hill/Long (if they're leaving) can now go to Ambry and other guys counted on to contribute next year.

I would think that winning the bowl game (with the guys not returning playing) is better for the program than losing it (while having younger guys play that day).  The young guys still get the bowl practice time, but also have all off season, spring training, and fall camps to get ready.  In addition, the coaching staff and playbook for next season might be different than now.  Finally, the bowl win certainly doesn't hurt recruiting.

Gary is the only first round lock on the team, and thus, I expect him to be the only one sitting out.

The only other guy who even approaches first round "lock" status is Bush (he's not a lock though) and he said he's playing.

If you're not a bona fide 1st round lock it's fairly silly to sit out a bowl game, especially so if you're playing an opponent with NFL talent to generate more film against. Chase, Higdon, Hill, Long should all play, IMO, and I think they will.

No. I don't know that.

Most mocks I have seen don't even have Bush as first rounder right now. Gary is a lock. Google: still your friend.

I hope that every gameplan from now on is Nebraska style.

Brian characterized that game as "Harbaugh had a lot of twists and counters prepared, but once it became clear that Frost's team couldn't put up much of a fight, the interesting stuff was put back in the garage."

We should NEVER come out of the gate assuming that half of a creative game plan is enough. Florida should get our best kill shot right at the beginning. And after we've killed them, we should keep killing them. Double tap to the chest and a head shot. Then we should take off and nuke them from orbit.
