Bowl Game Question

Might be planning a trip to Atlanta for the game...does anyone know what hotel the team will stay in?  Wouldn’t mind trying to get a room there in order to meet some of the players/coaches.

This is creepy to me. Lots of people want to stalk young college men by staying in the same hotel.

You can stay at my house if you want! I walked on to the team for a period of time, and even have a real helmet in my house, and I still have the dish washing habits of a college kid, so it will be just like meeting the guys!

You're going to have to sleep in my office though, and Mrs. Toboggan doesn't know I've extended this offer, so it all could change.

Take a week or more one summer to go to Northern Michigan on a lake, you won't regret it. You can't convince me that there's a better place on Earth than Northern Michigan in the summer (except maybe the perfect fall day in Michigan...maybe a trip to Blake's and then a bonfire with friends). Traverse City, Glen Arbor, Leeland, Empire, anywhere. It's heaven.

Outside of that, there's not a ton you're missing I guess. Grand Rapids is very nice, there's things here and there. I'm partial to Detroit, I really love the city. There are things around Atlanta that remind me of Detroit, but Detroit will always be home to me.

Well, the thing is, for most bowl games, this is information that's usually easy to find out. They tend to use the same hotels, year after year, assigned to the particular tie-ins/home or away/etc. With all the public events and such, this isn't actually a terribly creepy question on its face. That being said, the hotel will usually be locked up between the team, the university and other folks, often that'll be where the Alumni Association tour will have some rooms, etc.

I mean, maybe if the bowl games or teams tried to hide it... For a lot of bowl games, this is readily available and public information. When I went to the Alamo Bowl, it was in the bowl materials, IIRC. The Rose Bowl was always pretty public about it, too. It's not treated with the secrecy of, say, away games, when the visiting team will stay somewhere miles away from campus in all but an undisclosed location.

It's not like you're going to be able to go knock on doors, or that players or coaches will just be sitting around the lobby to kibbutz with the masses. For the most part, they're in and out for events and practice.

Your best expectations will be what it's like if you happened to walk by the Campus Inn when the players were there for the Friday nights before home games. They'd walk around the neighborhood on Saturday morning, but would just politely say hi and keep on walking if people tried to talk to them.
