You spelled offense wrong
December 1st, 2018 at 7:47 PM ^
That was the least bad thing about this post.
December 1st, 2018 at 8:09 PM ^
I’m on the fence regarding the quality of this OP
December 1st, 2018 at 9:32 PM ^
I find all of these comments offencive.
December 1st, 2018 at 7:48 PM ^
Things happen.
December 1st, 2018 at 7:52 PM ^
it's, not its
also:
Pro style offense does not (doesn't); or, Pro style offenses do not (don't)
December 1st, 2018 at 11:11 PM ^
That's
December 1st, 2018 at 7:48 PM ^
Not in London chap
December 1st, 2018 at 7:58 PM ^
That’s a fence sieve
December 1st, 2018 at 7:59 PM ^
Maybe he playoff is in the UK
December 1st, 2018 at 8:07 PM ^
He also spells it “colour”.
December 2nd, 2018 at 7:49 AM ^
I wonder which one's his favourite.
December 1st, 2018 at 10:05 PM ^
I assumed he was talking about the CFL playoffs.
December 1st, 2018 at 11:40 PM ^
You represent a lot of things but a True Michigan Fan isn’t one of them.
December 1st, 2018 at 7:47 PM ^
I take offence to this hasty post!
December 1st, 2018 at 7:49 PM ^
Nah, you need a fullback and slow tight ends. Not enough body blows
December 1st, 2018 at 7:59 PM ^
And don't forget about still trying to win time of possession even when you're down by 20 points. You gotta win that time of possession.
December 1st, 2018 at 8:15 PM ^
And you sure as heck don’t need more than 3 simple routes for your receivers to run!
December 1st, 2018 at 11:57 PM ^
Really just one. R and S Z Fly and find the open man, could be Stephen Baker, could be Stacey Robinson. Might be Meggett or Ottis Anderson in the flat.
December 1st, 2018 at 7:50 PM ^
My gosh these posts are stupid. Most offenses are multiple now, including Michigan’s.
December 1st, 2018 at 7:56 PM ^
How diverse is Michigan’s offense really though? Some fancy fullback snaps doesn’t make you multiple
December 1st, 2018 at 8:29 PM ^
Well, I seem to remember Patterson having an 81 yard run on a zone read so there's that. Personally, I would have liked to see some fullback screens to Mason. Would love to see what he could do with some space and a full head of steam.
December 1st, 2018 at 8:57 PM ^
Fullback screens is what you'd rather see....how about some screens to one of our fastest guys in space in Evans? We don't use him right at all.
December 1st, 2018 at 9:04 PM ^
He hurdles people, obviously
December 1st, 2018 at 10:15 PM ^
I was missing those as well. Houma did great with those.
December 1st, 2018 at 8:40 PM ^
I mean, 4WR sets are/were used— it’s not like Michigan was 100% pro-set. Part of the ‘offensive development’ has also been that we don’t have the bodies to run as many of the sets UGA and Alabama used. Michigan’s Receiver depth is definitely not even close to those two teams. Be content with the growth of where Michigan is, and still expect more down the road.

It does seem like the fail to be very creative at times. For example, Gentry was a star QB for his career until transferring to UM. I am still waiting for a trick play to have him through a pass (and instead we saw DPJ throw a floater a few weeks ago that was fortunate not to be intercepted).
December 1st, 2018 at 7:58 PM ^
Are you saying that people shouldn't just post whatever pops into their head as a thread?
December 1st, 2018 at 8:05 PM ^
Are...are we supposed to fully formulate thoughts before creating a new post?
December 1st, 2018 at 8:12 PM ^
I think we should firstly consider ... wut ... squirrel!

Welcome to the stupid season, where people create posts before the event even happens to prove they aren't sheep or whatever bullshit leads to stuff like this.
December 1st, 2018 at 9:02 PM ^
Not in big games it isn't....we save our frippery for teams other than OSU.
That's what kills me....we ran a more sophisticated offenSe for the PSU game. What was needed was more of that against OSU, not less.....
Yeah, it may not have worked....it may have caused us to lose.....uhh, wait....
It may have caused us to lose by a bunch.....uhh, wait.....
It may have gotten the QB hurt....uhh, wait.....
Yeah, but it may have given us a chance to keep up....
TL;DR Turtle time does not belong in big games.
December 1st, 2018 at 10:37 PM ^
Exactly. #toosoon
December 1st, 2018 at 9:49 PM ^
Michigan just took their offense and ran the same plays out of shotgun while adding a few new formations and the read option as a wrinkle for about 3 plays a game.
December 1st, 2018 at 10:27 PM ^
Innovation!!
December 1st, 2018 at 7:50 PM ^
Well give a call to Harbaugh. I’m sure he’d love to hear what you have to say.
December 1st, 2018 at 7:50 PM ^
Not necessarily. You just have to get your explosive players the ball in space. Our coaches seem to only want to use a ball control passing offense.
December 1st, 2018 at 9:18 PM ^
Stop drinking is I think his reply
December 1st, 2018 at 7:51 PM ^
Man this sounds like 2007 2008 deja vu
December 1st, 2018 at 8:17 PM ^
And I can 100% predict that if we asked these same people what their thoughts were with RR in 2008, they'd have said it was a gimmick.
People don't like losing games. They'll ret-con whatever they need to in order to justify that.
December 1st, 2018 at 7:51 PM ^
Actually 8 of the top 10 run it.
December 1st, 2018 at 7:51 PM ^
Nick Eubanks in the slot like Nuata?
December 1st, 2018 at 7:52 PM ^
Hire Rich Rod!
December 1st, 2018 at 7:52 PM ^
Won't work. Not enough 1st down and 2nd and long runs into 8 and 9 man boxes.
December 1st, 2018 at 8:50 PM ^
Michigan's offense this year is ranked #19th in the country on 1st and 2nd down success rate.
December 1st, 2018 at 7:52 PM ^
On the contrary, I think we just need to stick with it for another decade or two until no one remembers how to scheme against it.
December 1st, 2018 at 10:10 PM ^
Did you just guarantee a win in THE GAME for the 2038 season??
December 1st, 2018 at 7:55 PM ^
The best offenses are ones that run directly into the asses of offensive linemen for one yard on 1st and 2nd down.
