M Go Burke

It's not often (really never) that a Knicks game makes my night, but Burke put up 29, 6 and 11, including a late dagger three, to down the Celtics in Boston.

Then, during his post-game interview, Hardaway comes from off camera, pouncing like a Murder Wolf, and shouts Go Blue, Beat Ohio.

So much heart in Trey.

It's great to be a Michigan Wolverine.

Like Hardaway, too, though with the Knicks he can be a little frustrating to watch. Has ice in the veins as a shooter, but often over-dribbles into double teams and becomes a turn-over machine.  Much better when another guard's getting the ball to him in his spots.

Don't really fault him for the turnovers -- the Knicks have had no-one willing to take the reins (other than Burke, that is) so Hardaway has to play outside his natural 'microwave' role.

Love it! Hopefully, Trey has found a home with the Knicks. He's been backing up Frank Ntilikina, who is woeful on offense. If the Knicks can find a good balance between the two, Mr. Burke may be able to carve out a niche in the league as a Vinnie Johnson type player. He can be a sometimes starter, but is also very effective as a heavy minute 3rd guard who can do a little bit of everything.

Go Blue!

Good for Trey. Not many lottery picks who struggle in their first spot, and second spot get the opportunity at a third. He’s seized his opportunity, and now should have locked up a long career in the NBA

He ended last year on fire but then had one DNP’s this season before heating up again. As others have mentioned, I think his perfect role is a scoring role off the bench. His pull-up and step-back game is a great go-to. In other Wolverine news...Stauskas runs hot and cold and doesn’t shoot much. I guess he’s staying in his role and not forcing things. Same goes for GRIII except for the hot part. LeVert was lighting it up until his injury. DJ Wilson is MIA. I think Wagner made his Laker debut with a couple token minutes, and how about that Duncan Robinson? What a story.

I'm a Celtics fan and I was watching that live, but damned if I didn't get excited when Trey had the ball in his hands with the clock winding down and cheer as he sank that dagger three pointer. Reminded me of some other fine Trey memories.

I love seeing our bball alum doing well in nba, especially with michigan running a relatively clean program and being about DEVELOPMENT rather than 1/done
