Rutger Roll Call and Ticket Watch

Submitted by bdsisme on November 9th, 2018 at 8:47 AM

Who is heading to Piscataway tomorrow? I'm making the trip for the second time, but haven't secured tickets yet. If you're in the same boat, keep in mind that it's a tiny stadium (52,000 seats), with probably half of the stadium taken over by Michigan fans.

Tickets seem to be holding steady at ~$75 get-in on the secondary market, and there are some tickets available from the Rutger box office ($125 for good seats, $80 for end zone).  I'm hoping that ticket prices will fall given the cold, overcast forecast, but the relative lack of tickets on the secondary market may not let that happen.

Which sections are official Michigan sections? How much did you pay for your tickets? Anyone have tips on the best tailgating lot?

umbig, players stated a few games ago that they haven't even opened up half the playbook on the field.  should we be expecting any major changes/wrinkles to the offense in the coming weeks and for bigger games later this year?  More RPO?

I'm going to take one for the team and say "Hey, don't sleep on Rutgers!" because the overconfidence in this fanbase is such that if we actually did lose there might be multiple suicides.

We are not going to blow them out by 78 points again. Let's just get a healthy lead by halftime and get some backups a bunch of snaps which is good for morale. Maybe get a few field goal attempts for Nordin.

Michigan wins 52-13.

Definitely feels like Michigan fans from NYC have been buying these up. Ticket prices have been going up all week and inventory is pretty low. These prices seem to be at or higher than a game at Michigan stadium.

Lower bowl sideline tickets going for >$125 each with fees

For reference MSU tickets against OSU are going <$15

My buddy ordered tickets for us for 60 each at the 10 Yard line row 38 off some app that is tied to Rutgers athletic department (Not Sure the App). We do not have a parking pass so we are Leaving State College early tomorrow morning and making the drive down hoping to find a parking lot that is cheap and close lol. I was informed that Rutgers fans are complete dicks and i should be aware of walking in the dark alone back to the car were we park? Sounds a little pathetic if true lol. Hoping to find a friendly tailgate to hang out at and enjoy a great ass stomping!

Will be attending tomorrow, and have not bought tickets in advance for the first time ever....I am expecting to be able to get something outside the stadium and move around(this was very easy to do against Maryland last year).  Decided to go the risk/reward route with this one.

Will be there. Got tickets for $70 this week when I saw prices weren't dropping and there doesn't seem to be that much inventory. I can't imagine a glut of tickets is suddenly going to hit in the next day or two and the ticket demand for this game from Michigan fans is exactly why Rutgers is in the big ten. Way too many east coast Michigan fans for the prices to drop too much.

I will be there in Section 125 in my maize gear. I’ve been tracking the ticket prices somewhat closely on Stub Hub for the past two weeks and based on what I saw it looks like Wednesday late morn showed the lowest prices generally. They have started to creep back up notably since then.

I am concerned about the parking situation.  Hoping that the lots on Busch campus will be empty.  The parking is my least favorite part of going to Michigan road games.

We just arrived here in New Brunswick.  Already saw a bunch of Michigan fans in the hotel lobby.  I brought all our tailgating stuff, but am concerned about the conditions tinorrow.  Low 40's and windy.  I'm going to try the Greek church first and go from there.  Yellow lot is huge, but quite a ways from the stadium.  (Yes, I do know there is a shuttle).   We'll be in section 110 on Michigan side of field.

Seems like this is about the year where Piscataway turns into Ryan Field East. Rutgers put some butts in the seats the last few times out of excitement for the Big Ten and the new big boys coming to town. Now that I think we've sufficiently bludgeoned them and the new excitement has worn off, I fully expect the field to be taken over by our east coast alums for many, many years to come

Flying out today. Got 2 tickets on stubhub for $70 each, including fees. Row 30ish of the 25 yard line, Rutgers sideline. Tickets on the michigan side of the stadium were selling for 40-50 more, so I'm expecting the entire michigan sideline to be mostly maize and blue.

I saw the exact same thing re: ticket prices. It would be great if we can get the Rutgers sideline to show 50%+ maize colors. I doubt it happens but it will show well on TV (and maybe recruits in attendance).

I remember attending Michigan Stadium during the Hoke/RR era and seeing huge clumps of red everywhere for the OSU games. Still horrifies me.  Just demoralizing to see visitors just take over your own stadium in every area and hear  the echo of their team chants reverberate through the whole stadium.

I will be there. This feels more like going to a concert than a sporting event. The main event is traveling in from out of town, you'll be there with a bunch of other local fans for one night only, and you know exactly what you're gonna get, risk free. It'll be fun and easy, and for that it's worth the money.

Taking the family; got 4 tickets for $80 each on Vivid Seats. We will be on Michigan sideline at ~25 yrd line ~ 35 rows up. Looking forward to the curb stomping. Should be fun celebrating with maize and blue brethren as we take over their stadium!

I've never been to a Rutger game, but live 20 minutes away. I'm going tomorrow with two kids. It looks like we got seats pretty close to the cannon -- section 109, row 4 for about $100 with fees bought last weekend. I also got an orange parking pass (the most distant, cheapest lot).

Try to avoid the upper decks if you don't like heights.  They are steep, steep, steep. When I was there, some fans had to be led back down because they just weren't comfortable sitting up that high.

We're in Section 129 (lower bowl, home sideline, ~10 yardline) - meant to get section 108 on the visitor side. Oh well. Bringing my maize cowbell.

Heading up this evening, after stopping off for dinner in Baltimore to let the rush hour traffic fade. Staying in New Brunswick. Wasn't able to get tix to to the Stress Factory Comedy Club there (sold out both shows on both nights). Maybe get something curbside at the club?

Having issues with the mobile delivery of my tickets though - been on the phone 3 times already today with the ticket office. Ugh. Better to get the Print-at-Home.

I'll be there!! Definitely think the proximity to NYC and a huge Michigan alumni/fan base is keeping tickets high. I'm going with 30 plus people - 22 of us bought an entire row in Section 109 - and people are still looking for more tickets.

All of my friends are 5 years removed from graduating and instead of spending the time to figure out a weekend that works for people and the money to get back to AA this year, we all made sure we could get to this game, and I'm sure the feeling is the same amongst a lot of people in this area.

Its Great to be...

4 of us coming to help make this Ryan Field East.  Bought tix 3 weeks ago, section 123, 5-10 yard line, $60 each (before StubHub raped me).  It’s on the home team side, but the stadium should be heavy maize and blue. Eagerly looking forward to a Rutger, or perhaps many,

parking lots near the stadium goes to season ticket holders... they sold out quicker this year because they no longer use a county park across the road from the stadium... previous years we have parked at the RAC which is an easy 5 minutes shuttle bus to the stadium.

Tickets have started to creep up but not crazy...Rutgers has to stop price gauging Michigan Fans... you can’t try to sell tickets for $160 when the open market has them at $90.

They have adjusted their prices, the first year Michigan played they were asking $160 for the cheapest ticket from Rutgers and Michigan fans spent the money... but you can’t ask that kind of money for a practice game.  Maybe they will learn and charge $100 which is probably what it’s worth..

I’ll be in section 127 row 8... am lucky I got a client to get me the tickets..
