Rutger Roll Call and Ticket Watch

Submitted by bdsisme on November 9th, 2018 at 8:47 AM

Who is heading to Piscataway tomorrow? I'm making the trip for the second time, but haven't secured tickets yet. If you're in the same boat, keep in mind that it's a tiny stadium (52,000 seats), with probably half of the stadium taken over by Michigan fans.

Tickets seem to be holding steady at ~$75 get-in on the secondary market, and there are some tickets available from the Rutger box office ($125 for good seats, $80 for end zone).  I'm hoping that ticket prices will fall given the cold, overcast forecast, but the relative lack of tickets on the secondary market may not let that happen.

Which sections are official Michigan sections? How much did you pay for your tickets? Anyone have tips on the best tailgating lot?

Got mine today. $111each after stubhub fees($87 before) Section 127. Can’t find parking passes available so probably gonna have to use the shuttle from the RAC. Hopefully find something better when I get down there.

Hey, just a public service announcement from a friendly Rutgers alumnus. It is not ok to disrespect veterans of the United States military, and you have many people participating in this mass show of dishonor.

Every time you disparage the name Rutgers, you are disrespecting a United States veteran. Henry Rutgers was a Revolutionary War hero. Please show some decency and add the final "s" to the name of this patriot and hero. You can also visit this link for verification. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henry_Rutgers

Many thanks,

Thank you for the note and link I found it interesting.

I think his name sake university is disrespecting him more by continuing their football participation  (if you can call it that) in the big 10 than any alternative spellings of his name ever could.

Maybe we can use the angle of being respectful to a military heroes name to remove the blemish of your football team from the big 10.

Actually, I think a lot folks around here are fine with it. An embarrassing loss to a pathetic football program such as yours helped usher out the woebegone Brady Hoke era and brought us Jim Harbaugh, he of a 3-0 record (by a combined score of 162-30) against the worst Power Five team in existence.

And hey, best of luck on your fifth attempt to finish outside the cellar in men's basketball.

I am fine with the 2014 result, it is who were then and contributed to the coaching change that got us to were we are now.

I did find it funny that the link you provided a great example of pulling a Rutger:

...the Colonel’s body was re-interred several times... For many years, no one remembered where his body had been finally laid to rest...Misplaced by history for over 140 years, Henry Rutgers' final "final resting place" was rediscovered in October 2007.
