1987 = their last victory over Michigan
Sorry, I just can’t see justifying putting this team on the revenge tour.
Our players will take this game seriously, and we will take care of them - easily.
And for the record, I am looking past the scarlet Rutger.
November 6th, 2018 at 2:45 PM ^
Just show replays of what Jordan Howard did to the defense 2 years ago. That should be enough.
November 6th, 2018 at 3:24 PM ^
It was three years ago, but your point still stands -- he gashed the hell out of the defense. Though, at that point DL depth was so thin I think you and I were on the two-deep.

Remember the times when Indiana would inexplicably have some great running backs, like Jordan Howard, Devine Redding, and Tevin Coleman? Kinda like Minnesota's most recent golden years when Glen Mason could churn out some serious backs like Maroney and Barber. Hated playing against those guys.
November 6th, 2018 at 7:00 PM ^
And that POS Durkin was smiling like an idiot the whole time. Good riddance.
November 6th, 2018 at 6:32 PM ^
I don't know if you knew this, but good news! Jordan Howard is no longer on IU's roster!
(/s in case that wasn't obvious)
November 6th, 2018 at 5:02 PM ^
I CAN JUSTIFY IT!
I was at that 1987 game. In the second quarter, after we scored the FG to go up 10-7, we were celebrating when some IU idiot tossed an empty liquor bottle down the stands. It hit the Michigan fan next to me, broke in half, and the jagged half-bottle hit me in the head.
Both of us had to go down the First Aid as we were bleeding heavily. We heard Indiana score in the Q3 drive to go up 14-10 on the radio in the first aid room. Eventually they decided we need to go to the hospital and we got taken by an IU cop who had 6-8 empty beer cans in the front seat. I was getting woozy and my buddy asked him to put on the siren to get there faster and all he said was "Gotta move with the traffic son".
We lost the game. Me and the guy next to me got multiple stitches and a head bandage and I spent the rest of the night getting razzed by IU fans making fun of my injury.
I haven't forgotten it and have been very happy to watch every victory over IU since. It's my own personal "revenge tour".
November 6th, 2018 at 6:18 PM ^
Ha! I was thinking this exact thing happened to someone I know but then I checked the screen name and realized you are him. Nice work VAGenius! Go Blue!
November 6th, 2018 at 10:20 PM ^
So, no players on the team were alive when Michigan last lost to Indiana on the gridiron. One assistant coach was born after '87 - Jay Harbaugh (89). Sherrone Moore was only a year and a half when Indiana last won this game; Al Washington was 3 and Chris Partridge was 6. Not really a revenge kinda thing.
November 6th, 2018 at 2:03 PM ^
No.
But we can make the team watch video of the 1986 Minnesota game and remind them of what can happen when you look past an opponent.
Harbaugh knows that game better than anybody.
November 6th, 2018 at 2:33 PM ^
Just to emphasize this point -- and focus it on Rutgers, our actual next game -- a 9-0, #2 in the nation Michigan team led by Jim Harbaugh managed to lose, at home, to a Minnesota team that earlier in the year lost 63-0 to Oklahoma *and* 33-0 to Ohio State *and* 52-23 to Michigan State.
One game at a time, take nothing for granted.
November 6th, 2018 at 2:41 PM ^
I think you mean Rutger
November 6th, 2018 at 2:51 PM ^
Blood of Heroes was underrated
November 6th, 2018 at 3:41 PM ^
oookay, but pretty sure that's from Blade Runner (the original, not the stupid follow up with Ryan Gosling)
November 6th, 2018 at 10:12 PM ^
Yep it’s from BR. But regarding 2049: It completely blew me away (and I’m a huge fan of Ridley Scott and the original, so I went in being a tough critic). 2049 far exceeded my expectations and it’s an absolutely worthy sequel IMO.
November 6th, 2018 at 3:56 PM ^
Advancing the dog's skull to spike it on a stick ... truly underrated film.
November 6th, 2018 at 2:49 PM ^
Ugh, I was present live for that game. I was a 15 year old HS Sophomore at the time and it was my first experience with gut-wrenching disappointment as a Wolverine fan. Sadly, it wouldn't be my last.
November 6th, 2018 at 3:29 PM ^
I was 11 and there too. Rickey Foggie scored in the corner of the end zone we sat in. I'm pretty sure I cried.
November 6th, 2018 at 2:03 PM ^
No, no, and no. We haven't lost to them since 1987 and not at home since 1967...
November 6th, 2018 at 2:50 PM ^
The day will come when we finally stumble and lose to Indiana on the football field....but it will not be this year.
November 7th, 2018 at 7:18 AM ^
My first Michigan game was against Indiana in 1991. It was homecoming and we won 24 - 16. Too close IMO. Revenge tour it is!
November 6th, 2018 at 2:04 PM ^
What could we possibly have against Indiana? Decent school, cordial fans, and we pretty much always beat them. All in all, when I think of Indiana, I generally have good memories with no animosity.
November 6th, 2018 at 2:14 PM ^
Cordial fans?! LMAO. More like drunken, "I'm an IU basketball fan and Notre Dame football fan" idiots.
November 6th, 2018 at 2:46 PM ^
I've never forgiven them for being so mean to the Cutters in "Breaking Away."
November 6th, 2018 at 3:17 PM ^
not only that, but what about those guys that jumped gene hackman in 'hoosiers', and picked on ollie, the team manager, when he was shooting free throws to win the game?
November 6th, 2018 at 4:13 PM ^
And the most inept surgeon and Army officer in fictional history - Maj. Frank Burns - was from Ft. Wayne.
I'd say Indiana's got a lot to answer for.
November 6th, 2018 at 9:09 PM ^
Whenever anyone mentions a revenge tour and Indiana all you have to do is say, Lee Corso, John Wrangler and some freshmen kid named Anthony Carter.
I don't think IU will ever recover from that loss.

Tom Crean yelled at Jeff Meyer in 2013 and that was not a nice thing to do. #Revenge
November 6th, 2018 at 2:04 PM ^
I can not recall the last time we had a "comfortable" win against them.
November 6th, 2018 at 2:06 PM ^
In 2014, we held them to 24 yards passing and beat them 34-10.

Thank you. Thats comfortable.
November 6th, 2018 at 4:29 PM ^
That's a rutger, right?
November 6th, 2018 at 2:06 PM ^
Sure we can. They fired Harbaugh’s brother in law. IT’S PERSONAL!!!
November 6th, 2018 at 2:14 PM ^
Tom crean
Comedian/masturbator
November 6th, 2018 at 2:44 PM ^
SO creepy looking. It's still hard to understand how he was able to marry into the Harbaugh family.
November 6th, 2018 at 3:25 PM ^
Meritocracy obviously.
November 6th, 2018 at 2:07 PM ^
Not yet. First we have to get revenge on Rutger for the whole "magnets on the field" incident from 2016.
No Mercy. Win with Cruelty.
November 6th, 2018 at 3:06 PM ^
Don't forget how they got a first down in that game. Don Brown probably hasn't slept since then.
November 6th, 2018 at 2:10 PM ^
Yes. We need to the chaos team pay dearly!
November 6th, 2018 at 2:18 PM ^
I'm terrified of that game being close. Not that we will lose but will just have so much anxiety from a close game and get a stupid injury late. Hell I'd advocate for starting Peters at Rutgers this week I'm so scared of getting Patterson to OSU healthy.
November 6th, 2018 at 2:56 PM ^
Every second-half play by Indiana's offense is a potential targeting ejection for the first half of the OSU game. I vote for 49-0 by halftime, please.
November 6th, 2018 at 2:21 PM ^
Right after they have the audacity to score on our defense ... then yes. Then all hell shall rain down upon their souls in full revenge for their defeating our defense on that one drive.
November 6th, 2018 at 2:24 PM ^
No. Also, while 2016 was somewhat close (20-10) it was not a nail-biter.
November 6th, 2018 at 3:06 PM ^
That was the JOK gets one long run on a third down to clinch the victory game - Wilton was out and our offense was abysmal. Then it turned into a snow globe with Frank Sinatra singing ‘let it snow’ over the PA system. Priceless memories with my sons and dad - the only time that foursome has attended a game all together. I remember Jabrill peppers was dancing in the end zone waiting to return a kick. He would fit in so well with this team with his unrelenting confidence.
November 6th, 2018 at 3:13 PM ^
Definitely a cool game (no pun intended) to attend. I've been going to games since the early '90s and had never seen anything like that.
November 6th, 2018 at 3:30 PM ^
I have some really cool pictures of the transformation of the field/environment from normal to light snow to full-on blizzard. It was a lot of fun being in the stadium that day.
November 6th, 2018 at 8:16 PM ^
Watching the 300lb manly football players making snow angels in the end zone was awesome. Mature for their age, shouldering responsibility and intense pressure on a daily basis and then . . . acting like the kids they actually still are.
Just fun to see.
