Zach Harrison CB Update!
Don't look now... but our beloved Ace just put in his CB for Zach Harrison to Michigan, officially giving the good guys the lead in CBs! Ace's CB comes in the wake of other notable National Analysts such as Allen Trieu and Steve Wiltfong and even Eleven Warriors's Andrew Ellis has placed his CB for Michigan... Can we get excited yet?!
I have always wondered what LeBron would look like playing DE...

Did he not so silently commit or are people just reading into the performance of his prospective suitors?
November 5th, 2018 at 3:58 PM ^
I've heard a few things from "insiders", but I don't feel comfortable enough to buy into 100%. I think it looks good though.
November 5th, 2018 at 4:52 PM ^
If I was Zach, I would "silent commit" too. Have you read some of the crap on 11 Warriors about Zach? Dude, he saves himself a pissload of crap from CBus punks by being a silent commit.
November 5th, 2018 at 6:43 PM ^
I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't hear a decision until close to the Early Signing Period
November 5th, 2018 at 3:56 PM ^
He has not committed anywhere as of yet.

I will not watch 1 second of his film, I will not watch 1 second of his film, I will not watch 1 second of his film, I will not watch 1 second of his film, I will not watch 1 second of his film, I will not watch 1 second of his film, I will not watch 1 second of his film, I will not watch 1 second of his film, I will not watch 1 second of his film.
November 5th, 2018 at 4:11 PM ^
I did watch his film several months ago. I didn't think he looked nearly as good as Gary at the same stage. He looks like he could use some more weight. I'm sure he's awesome off and on the field, but #5 overall had me scratching my head a bit.
November 5th, 2018 at 4:26 PM ^
Go find his testing numbers and report back. That's why he's a consensus top 10 recruit - he's 6'6 245 and has insane numbers for his size. He's a freak, and he looks bone thin at 245 - he'll get over 270 easily.
November 5th, 2018 at 4:27 PM ^
I think it's more about his athleticism--which is off the charts. When you have a DE who could also play WR, that's just crazy athleticism. Add to that a build that could easily add 30 lbs, and Mattison's coaching, and that's an absolute monster in the making.

Beat it troll
November 5th, 2018 at 4:47 PM ^
He is not a troll. He just has an opinion that differs from what you want t hear.
I have been refraining to post my opinion because i know what happens when you post an opinion that differs from the sheep on here that star gaze. Its not a horrible opinion by any means so dont fret.
His athleticism is off the charts and whoever gets the kid has something few coaches ever get to work with. What happens after that is only in Harrison and the coaches control. He could end up a once in a generational type talent if hes coachable and under the right coaching staff (OURS!).
As far as production, he produces right now because he bigger/more athletic than anyone he plays against. He is raw. He needs coaching. Gary was definitely ahead of him in almost every way. Karlaftis is more ready to play right now. He won't be instant impact.
But he also has upside of a guy like Clowney. If everything aligns for him, he is a future #1 pick. And i can definitely see our coaching staff the place for that to happen. Mattison is amazing.

The issue at this site is not that people throw the word troll around without hesitation, but it's that the moderators end up aiding, and siding with, the ones that throw the term around in that manner.
November 9th, 2018 at 1:10 PM ^
Called him a troll because no one asked if he compares to Gary. To minimize his placement compared to a player from a different class screams looking for a hot take reaction, aka, trolling. If the conversation was about the two, I'd said nothing. I did interpret his comments as not negative or positive, in general, with the exception of evaluating against Gary. I stand by the response but appreciate the thoughtful feedback.
November 5th, 2018 at 5:22 PM ^
Gary was the consensus #1. That's rare and there was talk that he was the best prospect in several classes. So it's best not to compare other recruits to him and be disappointed.

Cast, Reel, Troll, fish on!!!
November 5th, 2018 at 6:08 PM ^
The difference between him and Gary is Gary was ready Day 1. He had the size, speed, and motor to play college football as a high schooler.
With Harrison, it’s much more based on his potential. He still has to put on some weight and get stronger, but he is an absolute freak athlete.
November 5th, 2018 at 6:33 PM ^
He’s a 5 Star because of his measurables, not his current level of play. Right now he could use about 35 lbs on his frame and he’s pretty raw technique wise. Think of him more as a 5 Star version of Taco Charlton.
November 6th, 2018 at 8:12 AM ^
I agree that his film is not strong 5***** stuff...however, his potential is. I don't think he will be a head case...and be coachable and be an achiever-strongly toward his "potential". Here, he surely fits the character and psychological mold that Coach Harbaugh is recruiting.
I very rarely go to the OSU site but I did follow a link over there in this regard. I was disappointed to find that they were no worse than what the pathological partisans post here.

November 5th, 2018 at 4:55 PM ^
Well, sure, but that's like saying "Brimley, drink!" The odds are as close to 100% as you can get I think.

Please give us Harrison and Crouch.
Harrison
crouch

oh my.
November 5th, 2018 at 4:18 PM ^
That's a hell of a defensive core. Damn. DAMN!

I wish he would come back so that there would at least be some reason for everybody still constantly bitching about him.
November 5th, 2018 at 6:28 PM ^
He must have come back, because I just saw someone be called Maizen the other day. He must be the boogie man.

We're all friends here! :) Sorry, seemed like a worthwhile update from the 2 we got earlier...
November 7th, 2018 at 10:59 AM ^
Naw, it's cool. I'm just joking.
November 5th, 2018 at 4:00 PM ^
I wonder what triggered the rush of ballz from the recruiting literati. Wiltfong and Lorenz specifically usually don’t flip a prediction unless there is firm intel.
November 5th, 2018 at 4:04 PM ^
They've been very close for a while now. It may be something minor that tipped the scales but once those guys weighed in everyone followed.
November 5th, 2018 at 8:43 PM ^
Two of those that followed were from Bucknuts and 11 Warriors. They're likely to have their own sources. When CBs get flipped from a writer's home team, they are usually correct.
November 5th, 2018 at 4:06 PM ^
I heard he was really enjoying his trip all weekend. Heard he was jumping up and down the team, “It’s Great to be a Michigan Wolverine” so take it for it’s worth. If we close on Harrison and Crouch, watch the dominos fall. Just saying.
November 5th, 2018 at 4:10 PM ^
Are we talking Harrison or Crouch? Harrison was in Columbus for the OSU-Nebraska game.
November 5th, 2018 at 5:23 PM ^
Harrison got to see OSU booed off the field at halftime. Also good.
November 5th, 2018 at 4:19 PM ^
Crouch was doing that, not Harrison. That story though makes me believe that we have a decent chance with Crouch

You’ll notice there are a few national guys who are very accurate and very in-tune. When they make a prediction, people who have no worldly idea what’s actually going on tend to put predictions in too.
November 5th, 2018 at 4:07 PM ^
I'll wait until he actually commits to get excited...
Beat Rutgers.
November 5th, 2018 at 4:10 PM ^
so look or don’t look?
November 5th, 2018 at 4:12 PM ^
Nothing is done until signed, but it all makes sense. The 2019 class down in that columbus hellhole are kind of falling apart (relative to their normal cycle) and Aretha Franklin has continually proven to not be a very good coach.
November 5th, 2018 at 6:56 PM ^
Oh let's leave Aretha out of this.
R e s p e c t
November 5th, 2018 at 4:13 PM ^
Would sure be great to have him, but I think a win at Columbus (especially if it came via a dominant defensive performance) would go a long way towards securing his services.
Getting that man out of Meyer’s own backyard is still going to be tough. Doable, but tough.

November 5th, 2018 at 4:33 PM ^
We have like 40 openings for recruits in 2019, right? We're already at something like 23. It feels like we could easily pull in 3 or 4 more blue chips. Where do we get the schollies?
November 5th, 2018 at 6:12 PM ^
Well between guys graduating, guys are expected to leave early, you have random transfers like James Hudson, you’ll have a few 5th year guys not get brought back, and you’ll have a few expected transfers.
Somehow the math will work out.
November 5th, 2018 at 7:05 PM ^
Just looked up the ‘15 class to see who might not be brought back and got a little sad to see Tyrone Wheatley Jr.’s name. Can you imagine the right side of this line with a version of TWJ that could block with Bredeson pulling around on a power play?
Any who the ‘15 class had 14 guys in it, half of whom are already gone and another 3 who didn’t RS. The remaining 4 are Gentry, Runyan, Uluzio, and Reuben Jones. I imagine that latter two might get firm handshakes after the season.
