Fanbase reactions: 2 months later
With this weekend's big win, the bandwagon is getting a little bit heavier. So I figured I'd take a look back at the post Notre Dame reactions to see how far we've come since that first week of the season, when the fanbase was in a "different" state of mind about the program.
Hopefully the current era of good feelings lasts well past OSU and into a potential Big Ten title.

I predicted 7-5 after Northwestern. I'm the worst.
November 4th, 2018 at 6:17 PM ^
Yes. Yes you are.
November 4th, 2018 at 6:24 PM ^
I hate so much about the things that you choose to be.
November 4th, 2018 at 6:47 PM ^
Why are you the way you are?
November 4th, 2018 at 7:14 PM ^
Who do you think you are?
What gives you the right??
November 4th, 2018 at 7:04 PM ^
I was one who thought Harbaugh would not be here after this year and leave because he didn't seem into it. I am dumb.
November 4th, 2018 at 9:00 PM ^
Yes. You are dumb.
November 4th, 2018 at 7:07 PM ^
You are the silent killer. Go back to the annex.
November 4th, 2018 at 7:15 PM ^
The negativity only has a negative impact on the program, recruiting, etc. You are allowed back onto the bandwagon but you need to sit down and learn your place. The coaches are A LOT smarter at football than you are, by a margin the magnitude of which you are not even able to comprehend. That doesn't mean there is no valid questioning or criticism, but it needs to be done from a place of "hey coach, what do you know that we don't?", and from am understanding that coach is not obligated to tell you anything and in fact it may not be in the interest of the team.
November 4th, 2018 at 7:34 PM ^
I'm pretty sure Umbig11 (Adam Biggers) predicted something nearly the same.
November 4th, 2018 at 8:05 PM ^
Everyone appreciate what toby did for us. Chase read this and the revenge tour was born.
November 4th, 2018 at 8:30 PM ^
I can't lie, I said I thought this team was average after week 4. Waaayyyyyy wrong on that.
November 4th, 2018 at 9:03 PM ^
it’s a safe zone post, ha. I believe, for the first time, I posted if not harbaugh who? Implying that we should have options...also, Being drunk and posting never works.
Now, I forgot what it feels like to actually to see Michigan as a legit contender for the conference and national championship...
November 4th, 2018 at 6:17 PM ^
I would be careful about this sort of thing. A well placed sub 30 degree game like the one against Iowa a couple of years ago, would bring all of this back.
November 4th, 2018 at 6:24 PM ^
Isn't that exactly why a post like this is a good one?
November 4th, 2018 at 6:29 PM ^
Yes, and we still haven't beaten OSU in almost a decade and a half.
November 4th, 2018 at 6:38 PM ^
2011 is that long ago?
November 4th, 2018 at 6:42 PM ^
Lakeyale was in a coma in 2011. He has no idea.
November 4th, 2018 at 7:30 PM ^
I'm not conceding 2016 either.
November 4th, 2018 at 9:59 PM ^
Yes, he's from another reality where time has different meaning.
November 4th, 2018 at 9:53 PM ^
gawd. thus proving the point. let’s decide yes or no based on a single win or a loss.
November 4th, 2018 at 6:18 PM ^
I've always been a pretty level headed fan but I'm just stunned by the improvement of the offensive line. In no universe did I think they would get to this level. I was begging to see the young kids Hudson and Mayfield the first several weeks. Like they say, if you listen to the fans you end up sitting with the fans. It has been a fun ride the last several weeks. The coaches deserve a lot of credit.
November 4th, 2018 at 6:20 PM ^
Glad this was posted. We are truly blessed with the coaching staff we have. Harbaugh is a goofy, awkward son of a bitch, but the mofo wants to win. He did what he had to do last offseason. We are now reaping the benefits. Hats off to him. Give don brown a blank check and let him determine his own salary. This is a football team that loves each other and is on a mission (revenge tour). Can it hang with Bama? Who knows, but those players believe in themselves and each other, and that counts for one hell of a lot.
November 4th, 2018 at 6:26 PM ^
I would say give Ed Warinner a blank check as well. No coach is more important for the type of offense Harbaugh wants to run.
November 4th, 2018 at 6:28 PM ^
Agreed. Give him what he wants. It’s hard to imagine we could return 4 of 5 OL, the QB, both TEs, the top 4 WR all on O. Wow. Pay the man!!
November 4th, 2018 at 7:04 PM ^
I was thinking of making a similar post, but could not have done it with so much depth! Well done! Go Blue!
November 4th, 2018 at 6:25 PM ^
"This will be a 3-4 loss Notre Dame team too. It's not like we just got beat by a playoff contender. OSU is licking their chops"
This stuff really is a lot of fun to read, as pathetic as it is lol.
November 4th, 2018 at 6:49 PM ^
I still think ND will derp a game and end up 11-1 to close the regular season. Outside looking in on the CFP.
November 4th, 2018 at 10:31 PM ^
I hope not! I'm rooting for Clemson to drop one before the ACC championship so as long as Michigan wins out its ND UM in the 2-3 game to complete the revenge tour.
November 4th, 2018 at 6:26 PM ^
I overreacted a little. Not a lot, but a little. Honestly, the biggest reason for it is because I didn’t realize ND was as legit if they are. (And yes, they are). If I knew then what I know now my reaction would have been a bit different.
November 4th, 2018 at 7:18 PM ^
Knowing what I know now, back in February, I would have cashed in all of my savings and borrowed as much money as I could from my brother-in-law and bet it all on the Boston Red Sox to win the World Series in five games against the LA Dodgers with David Price as the winning pitcher in the clinching game.
November 4th, 2018 at 8:47 PM ^
Don't know why you are getting downvoted. The offense looked broken. Apparently ND's defense had a lot to do with that.
November 4th, 2018 at 9:21 PM ^
That and the tackles were still learning.
November 4th, 2018 at 11:27 PM ^
Right. ND's defense is legit, especially their D-line. For folks that like to shit on the offense keep this in mind: Not only were they well on their way to making it a game late before the turnover, they left points on the board. They did this against another good interior defense in Michigan State.
This offense is indeed like the second Death Star; it's still under construction, but capable of fucking shit up. When it is truly armed and operational...uh oh!
November 5th, 2018 at 4:59 AM ^
I don’t know why I am being downvoted either. I just meant that I thought we lost to a middling ND team. If I knew then that they were a legit Top 5 team I would not have been as upset as I was.
November 4th, 2018 at 6:28 PM ^
I'll admit I thought Notre Dame would not be that good. I think they are overrated, as the computers would suggest that they're more a fringe top 10 team rather than the #3 team in the country, but they're clearly a very good team. Michigan is as well. We're seeing something we haven't seen with Michigan football in a long time: improvement throughout the season. Still have to finish it off and win the big one at the end of November, but things are looking good.
November 4th, 2018 at 6:31 PM ^
Wish you hadn’t blurred out the names. Those posters deserve to be fucked with a little.
November 4th, 2018 at 6:34 PM ^
+1, but it was a classy move.
November 4th, 2018 at 7:00 PM ^
I’ll come and face the music: I was pissed and wrote one of those. Shame on me for putting #HotTakes out there after week 1. I truly didn’t think there would be much O-Line improvement and we’d continue to beat our head against a wall on offense because of it. This has proven to be very, very wrong and I couldn’t be happier. One more stop on the Revenge Tour to go!
November 4th, 2018 at 7:05 PM ^
Yes, pics (unblurred) or it didn’t happen
November 4th, 2018 at 8:56 PM ^
Agreed. Fans like this should be exposed. There were fans behind me criticizing the play calling when we were up 28-0.
As many have said, in every fan base there are those that prefer to be angry over anything else. I for one would enjoy them being held accountable.
November 4th, 2018 at 6:45 PM ^
And a win at the beggining of December
November 4th, 2018 at 6:29 PM ^
Fans are idiots, weather and sports at 11 with your local news!
I think I predicted 10 wins this year, maybe 9 if stuff broke wrong. But this team has looked markedly better than expected as the year progressed, the rest of the conference got a shade worse, and a lot of things fell into place in terms of weaknesses (i.e. offensive live play and effective bodies at defensive tackle).
November 4th, 2018 at 10:33 PM ^
I predicted 11-1 at the beginning of August. I'm a fucking homer, but my post read -
August 7th, 2018 at 5:52 PM^
I agree. Almost every report I read about Michigan says "One good quarterback away." This is not just an mgoblog statement either. I also know this is true for any program, but I'm looking at the depth we are building now and am very pleased.
Now this is just me babbling, but if the OL improves to a top 30 unit this year, I'm not worried about the offense moving forward. If Warinner = Don Brown, then pay the man whatever he wants.
More babbling: I'm really of the opinion that this season is going to be something special. I also think the silence from Harbaugh on social media and in the press makes me think he does too. I'm imagining a "What's your deal?" moment with Danktiano and a giggling with glee handshake with whatever fecal matter ends up coaching Ohio State this year. We are going to the playoffs and the road is paved. This is the year.
November 5th, 2018 at 7:04 AM ^
I have 3 witnesses (MSU Fans) that are silent as hell this season that I told last December 2nd 2017 after coming back from watching the MAC Championship at Ford Field that this would be Michigan's year and we would beat Whisky, Sparty, PSU and Be contending for the B1G
wonder if they'd remember that conversation....lol
November 4th, 2018 at 6:31 PM ^
I'll not too big to say told ya so. I was one of like 3 people who said this would be a good year after ND. I got lit up on these boards and I'm not above rubbing that in your miserable faces.
You guys mostly all suck.
November 4th, 2018 at 6:54 PM ^
Would love to have a rematch on neutral field. Michigan would win by at least two touchdowns.
November 4th, 2018 at 7:09 PM ^
You weren't alone:
11-1 regular season (hopefully the loss is not in Columbus). We win the B1G and make the CFP and win the semifinal but lose the championship.
