Fanbase reactions: 2 months later

Submitted by othernel on November 4th, 2018 at 6:12 PM

With this weekend's big win, the bandwagon is getting a little bit heavier. So I figured I'd take a look back at the post Notre Dame reactions to see how far we've come since that first week of the season, when the fanbase was in a "different" state of mind about the program.

Hopefully the current era of good feelings lasts well past OSU and into a potential Big Ten title.

The negativity only has a negative impact on the program, recruiting, etc. You are allowed back onto the bandwagon but you need to sit down and learn your place. The coaches are A LOT smarter at football than you are, by a margin the magnitude of which you are not even able to comprehend. That doesn't mean there is no valid questioning or criticism, but it needs to be done from a place of "hey coach, what do you know that we don't?", and from am understanding that coach is not obligated to tell you anything and in fact it may not be in the interest of the team.

it’s a safe zone post, ha. I believe, for the first time, I posted if not harbaugh who? Implying that we should have options...also, Being drunk and posting never works.

Now, I forgot what it feels like to actually to see Michigan as a legit contender for the conference and national championship...

I've always been a pretty level headed fan but I'm just stunned by the improvement of the offensive line.  In no universe did I think they would get to this level.  I was begging to see the young kids Hudson and Mayfield the first several weeks.   Like they say, if you listen to the fans you end up sitting with the fans.  It has been a fun ride the last several weeks.  The coaches deserve a lot of credit.

Glad this was posted. We are truly blessed with the coaching staff we have. Harbaugh is a goofy, awkward son of a bitch, but the mofo wants to win. He did what he had to do last offseason. We are now reaping the benefits. Hats off to him. Give don brown a blank check and let him determine his own salary. This is a football team that loves each other and is on a mission (revenge tour). Can it hang with Bama? Who knows, but those players believe in themselves and each other, and that counts for one hell of a lot.

"This will be a 3-4 loss Notre Dame team too. It's not like we just got beat by a playoff contender. OSU is licking their chops"

This stuff really is a lot of fun to read, as pathetic as it is lol.

I overreacted a little.  Not a lot, but a little.  Honestly, the biggest reason for it is because I didn’t realize ND was as legit if they are.  (And yes, they are).  If I knew then what I know now my reaction would have been a bit different.

Knowing what I know now, back in February, I would have cashed in all of my savings and borrowed as much money as I could from my brother-in-law and bet it all on the Boston Red Sox to win the World Series in five games against the LA Dodgers with David Price as the winning pitcher in the clinching game.

Right. ND's defense is legit, especially their D-line. For folks that like to shit on the offense keep this in mind: Not only were they well on their way to making it a game late before the turnover, they left points on the board. They did this against another good interior defense in Michigan State.

This offense is indeed like the second Death Star; it's still under construction, but capable of fucking shit up. When it is truly armed and operational...uh oh!

I'll admit I thought Notre Dame would not be that good.  I think they are overrated, as the computers would suggest that they're more a fringe top 10 team rather than the #3 team in the country, but they're clearly a very good team.  Michigan is as well.  We're seeing something we haven't seen with Michigan football in a long time: improvement throughout the season.  Still have to finish it off and win the big one at the end of November, but things are looking good.

I’ll come and face the music: I was pissed and wrote one of those. Shame on me for putting #HotTakes out there after week 1. I truly didn’t think there would be much O-Line improvement and we’d continue to beat our head against a wall on offense because of it. This has proven to be very, very wrong and I couldn’t be happier. One more stop on the Revenge Tour to go!

Agreed. Fans like this should be exposed. There were fans behind me criticizing the play calling when we were up 28-0.

As many have said, in every fan base there are those that prefer to be angry over anything else. I for one would enjoy them being held accountable.

Fans are idiots, weather and sports at 11 with your local news!

I think I predicted 10 wins this year, maybe 9 if stuff broke wrong.  But this team has looked markedly better than expected as the year progressed, the rest of the conference got a shade worse, and a lot of things fell into place in terms of weaknesses (i.e. offensive live play and effective bodies at defensive tackle).

I predicted 11-1 at the beginning of August.  I'm a fucking homer, but my post read -

August 7th, 2018 at 5:52 PM^

I agree.  Almost every report I read about Michigan says "One good quarterback away."  This is not just an mgoblog statement either.  I also know this is true for any program, but I'm looking at the depth we are building now and am very pleased.

Now this is just me babbling, but if the OL improves to a top 30 unit this year, I'm not worried about the offense moving forward.  If Warinner = Don Brown, then pay the man whatever he wants.

More babbling: I'm really of the opinion that this season is going to be something special.  I also think the silence from Harbaugh on social media and in the press makes me think he does too.  I'm imagining a "What's your deal?" moment with Danktiano and a giggling with glee handshake with whatever fecal matter ends up coaching Ohio State this year.  We are going to the playoffs and the road is paved.  This is the year.

I have 3 witnesses (MSU Fans) that are silent as hell this season that I told last December 2nd 2017 after coming back from watching the MAC Championship at Ford Field that this would be Michigan's year and we would beat Whisky, Sparty, PSU and Be contending for the B1G

wonder if they'd remember that conversation....lol

I'll not too big to say told ya so.  I was one of like 3 people who said this would be a good year after ND.  I got lit up on these boards and I'm not above rubbing that in your miserable faces.

You guys mostly all suck.
