"We Are Penn State" troll?
I haven't been able to re-watch it yet, but did I see another epic troll of a defeated rival? They glossed over it on TV but it looked like the Michigan Stadium crew played that PSU anthem where they shout WE ARE PENN STATE. The whole stadium looked whited-out with phone flashlights.
Was it as awesome as it looked for the 1-second they showed it? Loving the contribution from Michigan's media team this year :-)

I heard the same as you on tv, thought it was funny as hell. “We own Penn State” is even better. Pretty impressed the crowd was able to sync that up to be honest.

Yep. Pretty sure we started this when I was there around 2005 / 2006 and were in the midst of a like 8-game win streak against PSU (including the Henne to Manningham game).

Understandably so the psu bloggers weren't too happy with that and the Michigan players doing the Barkley and McSorely celebrations. Oh well that's what happens when your d bag coach tries to run it up the year before.

They point out how that was a response to Michigan running it up in 2016. They're also never able to explain how the score was ran up. So instead they switch to the team "mocking them" by "smiling" amongst other truly egregious shows of poor sportsmanship.

Michigan did NOT try to run the score up in 2016. We finished the game somewhere in the red zone and knelt down to end the game. Franklin did a hurry up last year with less than 5 seconds left to score try and from the 4 yard line. That is trying to RUN IT UP. Facts only !!!

Yeah my 7 and 5 year old were actually paying attention to the game and you could hear it on TV...I had to start talking loudly to them.

Yep, it was different. The section to my right were definitely chanting "We fuck Penn State". My section was chanting "You suck Penn State".

Definitely We OWN Penn State. We used to chant that all the time back in the early 2000s when they were like 1-8 against us since joining the conference. They also sucked at basketball and had no hockey team.

Henne/Manningham I think was the beginning of "We Own Penn State." Popular basketball chant since we are something like 182-3 against PSU in basketball.

After PSU lost to OSU in an excruciating manner (again,) Franklin claimed they were a great team. He said they weren’t elite because elite teams win those games, but they were “great.” I’ve got news for James Franklin. Penn State is neither.

I was definitely shouting “We own Penn State” in my section. I’d say 75% of the people around me joined in once they realized what was going on. The student section was chanting loudly as soon as the song started.

I was in 8, the opposite from the students, and there was both 'we are/we own'. Leave it up to us older folks to screw it up. But a fun time was had by all.

That crowd was loud on television--and got louder as the game went along. Loved that chant at that end. I thought it was "We Aren't Penn State" when I heard it over my shitty computer speakers--of course, "We Own..." "We Fuck.." "You Suck,..." are all much better.
