James Franklin Implies Michigan's DBs Are Well Coached at Holding
Full story here but relevant portion:
“They hold. They grab, they hold, they tug, they pull. They get called for it a decent amount, but they also get away with it a lot more....They’re gonna run with ya and be in your hip, but while they’re in your hip they’re grabbin’ your pants, grabbing your hip, very rarely is it the jersey because you see the jersey, they’re well coached at it.”

I expect this to get as much attention as all the holding calls that don't get called vs. our defense.

Why the /s ?
Your post was spot on without it.

So we need the counter graphic - how many times M gets flagged for DB holding vs how many times opponents get flagged for offensive holding.

Eat shit, Field Goal Franklin.
November 1st, 2018 at 9:14 PM ^
Agreed. I hope that penis shaped fuck has his note pad out Saturday with no future.

....you mean like....

Geez I had a shitty day. I laughed out loud after that. Thanks man.

Jackie Treehorn treats objects like women..man.

This reminds me of when, in the late 2000s clashes between the Red Wings and the Penguins/Blackhawks, Penguin/Blackhawk fanboy Eddie Olczyk used to constantly complain about the Wings' "subtle interference."
November 1st, 2018 at 9:10 PM ^
Not surprising a coach from penn state is focused on grabbing and holding in the hip area.
November 1st, 2018 at 9:15 PM ^
Omg. Worth logging in to say best comment ever on this. Lmao
November 1st, 2018 at 9:34 PM ^
+1 to you sir, well played.
November 2nd, 2018 at 1:36 AM ^
He seems to be describing minor infractions, which... I have to concede that PSU is very familiar with.
November 2nd, 2018 at 6:38 AM ^
Comment of the year. Well done.
November 2nd, 2018 at 7:08 AM ^
Weird seeing a head coach from Penn State actually report it, though.
November 3rd, 2018 at 12:31 AM ^
BuHaHahahaaaa!!! Flippen HILARIOUS!! You kind Sir, made my Friday. Thank you very much. AaHhahahahaa!! Nearly sharted my pants reading that.
Beat PSU & Go Blue!!

Lmao this man is 100% bitch
November 1st, 2018 at 9:26 PM ^
Good fucking Lord i hope Harbaugh runs the score up as high as humanly possible on those dickwads from Hell.
52-3
November 1st, 2018 at 10:08 PM ^
I would think 52 is low.
November 1st, 2018 at 11:16 PM ^
And 3 is too high. When Franklin tries the garbage time field goal, we put the first stringers back in and block it.
November 1st, 2018 at 10:21 PM ^
He's definitely going to try
November 2nd, 2018 at 7:24 AM ^
Obviously, Franklin is attempting to send a message to the officiating crew.
November 1st, 2018 at 10:47 PM ^
Yeah, but he's OUR bitch.
November 1st, 2018 at 11:08 PM ^
Somebody get this dude a medal.
November 1st, 2018 at 9:10 PM ^
He's annoying.
November 1st, 2018 at 9:11 PM ^
This is just saying they're really good. Every great secondary gets away with a ton of subtle obstruction.
November 2nd, 2018 at 12:51 PM ^
How many times on the Podcastvhas Brian said our DBs (particularly Brandon) are really good at holding...
November 1st, 2018 at 9:11 PM ^
I mean, he's not exactly wrong...
November 1st, 2018 at 9:12 PM ^
My thought exactly. What he says is true and it is the mark of excellent dbs.
November 1st, 2018 at 9:18 PM ^
We did kind of copy sparty in that regard...
November 1st, 2018 at 9:34 PM ^
Sparty turns and looks for the ball while Ric Flair chopping you across the throat. It's not quite the same thing.
November 1st, 2018 at 10:46 PM ^
But do they yell "Whoo" after?
November 1st, 2018 at 10:13 PM ^
I remember being incredibly pissed about MSU always getting away with this. I vividly recall the 2013 MSU vs. Notre Dame, when MSU got called for like 7 DPI penalties and bitched about it even though they were all legit. MSU was literally holding and committing DPI on every single play, just daring the refs to keep calling it.
All I can say now is Michigan needs to apply the same tactics with regard to our OL and offensive holding. Come to think of it, maybe that's what they've been doing...
November 1st, 2018 at 11:55 PM ^
I remember that too. Those are the same tactics that the Seahawks used to beat the Niners in Seattle in the NFC title game. Everyone thought they were so talented. Yeah, talented at holding without the refs seeing or calling it on every play. That defense was a bunch of average Joes who thrived off of their crowd noise and cheap play. Niners and Jim should've been back in the Super Bowl that year. I don't think this Michigan defense is anywhere near that dirty and cheap when it comes to those two pathetic ass teams of punks, thugs, skipskaps, skallywags, hoolihoops and losers. There was one other team a few years back that had the so called (great) defense but were always holding. Couldn't actually cover guys fairly. Cant think of it but man did they piss me off when I watched them. I can see why Franklin popped off about it though. He's trying to give his team some help and make it public that the refs need to be watching it extra close. I hope every one of those refs break their legs too. Just because I hate refs. I'd hate my grandpa if he was a ref. Not dad though.

“That defense was a bunch of average Joes who thrived off of their crowd noise and cheap play”
Hottest, worst take in the history of this site, and I’m no Seahawks fan.
November 2nd, 2018 at 8:05 AM ^
Wow. I readily admit that most successful/good defensive backfields have to get away with a lot of holding and, in some cases PI. But to call that group "a bunch of average Joes" is seeing them a bit differently than I do. I thought it was one of the best defensive backfields I have ever seen, and I'm a Patriots fan. There are possibly three HoF caliber players in that group.

All I can say now is Michigan needs to apply the same tactics with regard to our OL and offensive holding.
Funny thing is that when Ed Warinner was at Ohio State, the constant complaint from this fanbase were all the uncalled holding against their O-Line.
I remember reading that was exactly one of Ed’s coaching strategies. He had interns doing analytics on reffing tendencies and in-general how long a hold had to be for it to be called. Then he would coach the O-Line to hold just long enough to be effective, but not to be noticed/called.
November 2nd, 2018 at 7:01 AM ^
No, he is spot, and also trying to get a call or two. He is generally a knob but this is smart coaching. Just planting a seed in the refs mind.
November 1st, 2018 at 9:11 PM ^
I really hope we beat the piss out of this fool.
November 1st, 2018 at 9:12 PM ^
...he's crackin'.
November 1st, 2018 at 9:13 PM ^
Yawn. He can eat a bag of penis. The defensive backs are coached well, and fuck ya they hold. They engage well, they turn their heads to the ball and Felton learned they hit with a thud too. Sub par analysis, coach.
November 1st, 2018 at 10:49 PM ^
Just like the WRs are coached to get their hands on the DBs and push off to gain separation. In most cases, the WRs have at least as much holding and grabbing.
November 2nd, 2018 at 7:47 AM ^
Can't wait for tomorrow's sequel "Franklin gets fucked by a pack of wolverines and 1 glorious mustache"
November 1st, 2018 at 9:13 PM ^
He's going to be in the refs ears about it from the first minute.
I wouldn't be surprised if we see a lot of call against us. Home field doesn't matter much for Michigan when officiating is involved.
November 1st, 2018 at 9:26 PM ^
The refs have been MUCH less anti-Michigan since they fucked up the hold on Higdon and everyone starting talking about the lack of DL holding calls in our favor.
November 1st, 2018 at 9:42 PM ^
I think we won't get screwed as much on penalties since we're the big ten's best playoff chance now. Delaney is going to have to eat his own shit he's been giving us for years.
November 1st, 2018 at 10:13 PM ^
Let's just hope we don't get O'Neill's crew.
