Would you rather beat OSU or make he CFP?

I was just thinking that I would rather beat OSU this year than make the Playoff (assuming only one of those things were possible and I had to pick). My thought may be different if, in my mind, it seemed realistic to beat Alabama and win the whole thing. But, I think at this point that seems like a heavy lift.

Anybody agree?

I think I was still playing with GI Joe guys since the last time we legitimately (Fickel win doesn't count in my book) beat OSU.  I am so effing tired of my OSU co-workers and friends.  I don't care if we lose every game this year except for the OSU game.  We just need a win against them.  Its been SO LONG.

This one is easy, if we don't beat OSU, making the CFP will be in jeopardy so the answer is I want both, I want it all....I want to win the whole damned thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Making the CFP is only possible if we beat OSU.  We need to beat OSU!!!  Then finish the Revenge Tour by exacting revenge on 'Bama for the 2012 Cowboy Classic and then beating ND in the Natty!

I think this is a silly hypothetical (and I'm making it sillier), but I think one plausible (though unlikely) way would not be a choice between losing to OSU and making the playoffs or beating OSU and missing the playoffs, but rather what if the OSU game were canceled due to weather or something? If we're 8-0 in the B1G and that game is never played, we're going to the B1G championship and potentially onward to the CFP without beating OSU.

Anyone know how canceled games affect B1G division winners?

Beating OSU will tend to lead directly to the playoffs.  And honestly, because we are who we are, it almost has to be both.  Because, as silly as it sounds, a NC after a loss to OSU will feel wrong.

I don't think there's any way you can make this an either/or proposition.

One of the fundamental reasons UM-OSU is, historically, the best rivalry in American sports is because The Game matters so much in the conference and national pictures. And it matters again this year; we are not making the playoff without beating OSU.

Beat Penn State, avoid disaster in between the two big games, beat Ohio State, put Meyer out of his misery, win the Big Ten and make the playoff.

That's the season. That's going to be the season.

If we were regularly beating OSU, I'd would say make the CFP, but beating is OSU is another hump we need to get over before we can considered "back"

So this year I would rather beat OSU

Can't make the CFP without beating OSU. Just not possible this year. Maybe in other years but not this year.
