Mike Dantoeknee Lying Again?

Submitted by KennyGfanLMAO on October 21st, 2018 at 10:46 PM

I was watching post-game pressers a moment ago (because Spartan tears are delicious) and noticed something odd. This may not matter to some, but I feel like it is worth pointing out. In MD's post-game presser he mentioned that Lewerke was playing injured and didn't practice all week. Lewerke said the same thing in his presser while seeming hesitant to answer injury related questions. Both mentioned that him playing on Saturday was a game-time decision.

Then I stumble upon Dave Warner's presser...someone asked him if Lewerke was hurt, and he said "no" without hesitation. He then mentioned that he practiced all week long.

Why would they lie about this? Would they make up an injury to lessen the criticism on Lewerke? Or does Warner just have no idea what is going on?

Here are the pressers for reference.

Not a good sign when the HC and the OC aren't on the same page concerning the health of the most important offensive player on the team.

When people rewatch they might want to keep their eyes on Lewerke. He might have been hurt a little--and Warner may be the kind of no excuses coach. But he pops up pretty quickly, from what I could see, throughout the game. Does not look limited.

Now people get shots and play with adrenaline, etc. But I will be interested in how this one shakes out.

Lewerke was hurt and didn't practice. But not hurt enough to have a complex trick play written up and practiced to perfection enough that it ended in him catching a wide-open touchdown pass.

But who needs evidence? We're post-truth now.

Why would Dantonio lie? Because he's a lying POS who can't see straight when Michigan is involved and surely won't give them credit after a loss. Plus he's been pushing the injury narrative all season.

Why would Warner lie? To protect Dantonio, since it would have been his call to start an injured Lewerke. Follow up questions would have been about that questionable move.

GRASPING FOR STRAWS,  Dantoni is.....  still trying to obfuscate...  what is disappointing is that the media haven't crucified him for pulling that stunt after he said to look at tape, which shows him commanding the linewalk from behind....

Did you notice that when Lewerke was asked directly if he practiced at all last week he hesitated and then responded "Coach D said I didn't practice last week at all".

Very curious way to answer the question, as in <I'm not going to publically contradict my head coach, if he said it, it must be true.>

That one reporter: Brian at this level there are no moral victories, but did you feel like you played hard so that made it better? SMDH.

Also, someone should ask Brian's barber about moral victories.

When you look up douchebag in the dictionary, Mork's scowling face is right there. I know it's over, and we won the game, but I am pissed at the media (BTN, ESPN, et al) for not calling out msu and DeGiorno for causing the ruckus pregame. Everyone is saying it was unfortunate, both sides were in the wrong. I say HELL to the NO. That whole stunt was orchestrated by that POS DeGiorno himself. Nobody on either network has the balls to call him or msu out. The worst part is they are showing the video of it all going down!! Oh well, just hate the media trying to drag us into it when our guys were minding their own business. Fuck em!! We won. 21-7. 395-94. GO BLUE!!

Well, they were beat up at most positions. And coming into the game, they barely could field three healthy receivers. Too bad, so sad.

But apparently Lewerke was well enough to play every minute of offense against Penn State and throw the winning TD in the closing seconds, so the idea that he got hurt in that game and was a question mark until gametime Saturday, is only a way to deflect attention from an extremely subpar performance caused by a dominant defensive effort.

Here's the thing though, if he was suffering from a threatening injury that he played through, it only excuses his level of poor play to the extent that it hampered his team's chances of winning. And even before Felton Davis went out with season-ending injury and L. J. Scott played only about a quarter, all the Spartans had left was a trick play, bad weather and game baiting antics to stay in he contest.

Let them claim whatever they want, playing hurt is part of the game and because it was never mentioned going in, it doesn't count with anyone afterward. In fact, whether gamesmanship or not, it just seems part of Dantonio's disrespect and a page from his perennial chip-on-the-shoulder playbook. Whatever, those three guys won't be back next year when this game is played in Ann Arbor and Michigan fans won't forget their bush league tactics.

I was doing some reading on the RCMB and some of their fans were asking basically this: If Lewerke didn't practice all week due to injury, what did they do all week in practice on offense? Did Lombardi take the QB reps? If Lombardi was taking the QB reps for most of the week, why wasn't he playing before an injured player that hadn't praticed much for the game?

Those are good questions. I honestly don't know why they would lie about whether or not Lewerke practiced. Maybe it WAS to lessen criticism of Lewerke? Those fans are harsh and probably wouldn't leave him alone on campus or social media after this game. Thinking he has an injury lessens their blaming and harassment towards him.

If he had been significantly injured to the point it was a “game time decision,” Dantonio would have pulled him earlier in the game. Waiting until the last few mins of the game?...I don’t Think so

Of course, he's a liar. His team just got pants on national TV, after Devin Bush treated the spartan logo like cat litter. He can either lie about it or allow the newly enhanced weight of that chip on his shoulder to crush him.

Devin earned himself a spot next to Mike Hart in the Little Brother Hall of Fame. Kudos to him! That clip is going to still play when Devin's kids are old enough to play for Michigan.
