Kicking game

Nordin is a talented kid who has NFL potential, but it’s obvious he’s having major struggles right now, whether it’s physical or mental. The week off probably comes at a good time for him. I’m wondering if he doesn’t get this corrected soon if Moody gets a shot.

Kid has a BIG leg...but he’s having major mechanical issues. I don’t ever remember seeing this much inconsistency In how he strikes the ball. Even on extra points. It’ll be Scary if it comes down to a field goal to win a game for us...

Something's up, no doubt. He's been so bad the last couple weeks, I am leaning toward an injury being the root cause. It could be mental, but I don't think guys in their head look that bad. Agreed that the bye week is coming at a good time. Get some rest, get some treatment if he truly is hurt, then get ready for PSU.

his talent has gone to his head... check out his vaughn charlie sheen haircut...  this kid needs to be humbled and hopefully today did it.... had he been somewhat reliable, today would have been a program killer for msu... we'd have blown them out 40-0... and dantoni whispers of being canned, and their recruiting would take hit, and spiral...instead we had four drives with no points, and their td had something to do with it, too.

cant wait to hear valenti next week...

Gotta get that young man right. It probably starts with mechanics which then get into his head which then get into mechanics …  Those guys need to manage adrenaline and emotions and do just one thing. One really specialized, hard thing. And that is the sum total of my knowledge of kickers.

Nordin is in a slump and hopefully he can work it out next week but maybe give someone else a shot.  And Wilson replace Evans.

He's not just having troubles right now. He has never been reliable.

Moody might get a shot? Good. I hope there is a plan B for the field goal kicker.

Hopefully Quinn can work out what he's having trouble with.  He's approached balls flat and seems to not get a good angle on some other approaches.  Was hoping the holds were a factor and that could be part of it but there is definitely something there.  Maybe as mentioned before he's hurt and we just don't know.

This seems very similar to his slump last year. Kid has a ton of talent, don’t know if he’s injured or just out of sync. Whatever the issue is we need early season Quinn back for the stretch run.

If it’s an injury he shouldn’t be out there if it’s making his kicks look that bad. Better off going for it if they don’t trust moody either.

but it’s probably not an injury because he’s still fine on the long ones where he is probably focusing less on each mechanical piece because he has to put more into the kick.

The extra point was a bad snap and hold knuckle ball kick.  But yea there is something going on obviously.  Kids leg is unbelievable, but the ball just doesn’t look right when it comes off his foot.  Hopefully they work on it over the next two weeks we are going to need him

He hitched on his approach on at least one of them. That could be on the snap and hold or his timing. It's really hard to say, but he didn't look settled and it just didn't look good from pre-snap all the way through. If it isn't an injury thing, you can be sure they'll be putting in tons of reps over the next couple weeks. Really hoping it gets sorted out soon; if it does, with his range, he goes from liability to potential game-changing weapon.
