Sparty Hate Week

If you hate Sparty this is a good place to commiserate with fellow haters.  Let's start with this sour puss bastard who insults Mike Hart, a player.  This is lemon sucking bitterness at it's worst:

Are you a petty, disrespek driven asshole?

Yes, next question.

Do you pump your 3* players full of steroids to make up for the talent gap?

Yes, next question.

Do you play in a shitty trash bowl stadium in East Landfill?

Yes, next question.

Are you afraid that your lucky run, that took advantage of UM falling off a cliff due to bad coaching hires, is now over?

Yes, next question.

Are you aware that your program will forever, at best, be seen as a regional team playing second fiddle to big brother, tradition rich, historical power Michigan?

Yes, next question.

Is it hard to coach both the MSU football and volleyball teams?

Yes, next question.

Do you feel with the addition of Carmelo Anthony you can get over the hump this year and beat the Warriors?

Yes, next question.

Sparta reached the height of its power in 404 B.C. after its victory against Athens in the second Peloponnesian war. When it was in its prime, Sparta had no city walls; its inhabitants, it seems, preferred to defend it with men rather than mortar. However, within a few decades, after a defeat against the Thebans at the Battle of Leuctra, the city found itself reduced to a "second-rate power," a status from which it never recovered.

It is unbelievable how fitting that this statement is about the history of the spartans.

Assad would have made short work of that civil disobedience.  Seriously some of the "riots" and protests in muslim countries weren't nearly as bad.  That reminds me of the Bosnian riots a few years ago think it was over their independance unless I'm thinking the wrong country/city state.

If it wasn't for Mork I probably wouldn't have as much animosity towards MSU.

I want the win to see him dejected and defeated.

I'M SO TIRED OF THE LITTLE BROTHER BULL$HIT.

He's been trolling us and saying shit about us for 10 years. That's why I call them butt hurt nation. We have a player who says one thing, they ride it for a decade. They talk shit for the entire 10 years and it's just how it is. F*ck them.

I'm better now.

We've all sort of glossed over the fact that Mark Dantonio, a man being paid millions of dollars at the time of the Hart incident, insulted the unpaid student athlete's height and his comments about a rivalry.  Like, it's pretty fucked up that society was like "well, you know, that's a rivalry for you", as if Jim Harbaugh commenting publicly about, I don't know, LJ Scott probably needing to just have an Uber on call because he can't seem to get his shit together to drive wouldn't break the internet.

This seems like the right place for my first comment. A story:

While I was in school, I was one of the cameramen for Michigan Replay. My first season was 2007 (Carr's last season). We would film immediately following home games, but after the Minnesota game, there was a big tech issue that delayed getting the highlight package ready. So while coach was waiting, he asked us to bring a TV into the studio to watch another game. Brandy was out chatting with people so I was kind of lingering in the studio while Coach Carr watched TV. Annoyed by my awkward presence, he demanded I sit and watch with him so I would stop looming over him. Did not have to ask me twice.

So I sit and try to just watch, but the moment gets the better of me and I start asking questions about what he's watching: "What would you say to THAT guy?" and "Was that a good call?" Really intelligent stuff.  He was nice enough about it, but mostly through short, grunting replies. His eyes never left the game.

In desperation, I remembered that the next week was the MSU game, so I came up with the question that I was sure would really get coach to talk: "So coach, what do you think about Michigan State next week?" For the first time, he fully turned his attention towards me. He said, "VicValiant… I know two things about MSU. They are green. And they are assholes. And I don't plan on giving them any more thought than that." And he went back to watching the game. 7 days later, we beat them in East Lansing (not a comfortable win, by any means, but he got the job done).

Hate week will always be the week of the green assholes to me.

Present. Just coincidentally, I had the privilege of suspending a Sparty for three days without pay yesterday. He’s a loud mouth fan. So damn lucky for the timing. I am hoping he has to work on Saturday to make up for it. Not my department however.
