It's Gameday!!!

Submitted by GoWings2008 on October 13th, 2018 at 6:24 AM

Wait, the game starts when???

Ugh. Ok.

So, MGoBloggers... What cha doing to pass the time today until kickoff? I'm going to prepare my home for visitors tonight to watch the game, so shopping and cleaning. I'm craving some hometown Lafayette Coney Island dogs, so I'm making a pot of chili from a recipe I found online... Best I can do from St Louis.

AND drinking the blood of my enemy, washing  it down with a Wisconsin original Spotted Cow.

Must say one of the many perks to living out west is the early(er) UM football.  On typical noonish starts, the game is kicking off at 9 am here which is wonderful.  Tonite’s 4 pm start allows for the yard work, oil change on the truck, daughter’s 12:30 school volleyball playoff game, and then fire up the bbq, season the steaks, while the kids and dog jump in the pool and break open the 12 pack of Bass.  Glorious day expected here in the high 70s low 80s.

tasking children with sealing the new cedar decking and boards we're going to put up as railings on the deck and outside stairs.

bow hunting in afternoon/evening until almost exactly kick-off time.

then bbq and watching tonight's UTL.

go blue!

don't know who this one is for with the new formatting.

not in the UP, in NW lower.  sat 3 times and saw deer first two times.  third time was with a storm coming in so they were bedded down but i wanted to go out anyway.  the weather has decidedly turned colder up here as of wed night/thurs a.m., and they will be on the move.  tractor time, nap, then hunt.  fun game this a.m., happy for the boys.

psyched about tonight's game for our favorite team.

Driving out to manitou beach for a harvest party where I will eat entirely way too much food. I will need to start reminding my wife at 4 that no matter what is going on the car is leaving at 630 with or without her and the kids. She knows that without them is preferable so she will be ready.

Lets whoop some ass today and show it’s time for everyone to fear this team. Oh and I can’t wait for state to be 3-3.

Lets go blue!!!

It’s a combo day here, celebrating our daughters birthday (born in Wisconsin) and Game Day!!!  All the kids coming over to see Meeeeechigan beat the Badgers.  Drinking a local, Line Creek brew, Night Watcher, an excellent stout.  Expecting a Very good day.

Heading to the cider mill for some fresh donuts and cider, the latter of which will be in a thermos with some spiced rum for this afternoon’s tailgate. Will be in Ann Arbor by 2. Can’t wait for strong start and a great win.  Go Blue!

Should be done with the kid chauffering by early afternoon. And then I'm thinking about watching some football and drinking some beer. Yes, that sounds like an excellent plan!

Visiting our wedding venue in Grand rapids and then going to a wedding for my fiance's cousin. Fortunately he's from a side of the family she isn't close with so we are ducking out after dinner. Here's hoping there aren't any particularly long winded speeches.

I'm going to watch every minute of Gameday this morning - something I don't normally do.  Don't want to miss a Michigan feature, after all!  Then I'll grab the kid for a quick run to the local halloween store so we can decorate the house and yard this afternoon.  Will also have to replace the door handle for the back door, my brute strength broke the handle off last night.  But I suspect the Great Pyrenees largely broke its it trying to let himself out all the time...

GO BLUE!!!!!

Had a Great Dane that could bite the door handle and twist it and let himself out the front door.  Huge dog, big even for his breed.  He loved running around the neighborhood.  He was the sweetest, nicest dog and loved meeting people.  Seeing a massive, jet black dog running at you full speed freaked some neighbors out.  By the time we moved the door handle looked like a crumpled pop can.

Hitting up the tunnel of trees, heading to a local orchard, then back to the crib just outside Harbor Springs to sit in a hot tub and watch the game (at least for a little bit). I feel all kinds of fancy.

Youngest’s birthday. Up at 6 because he knows his mom treats the day like Christmas. He has ravaged the house. I’m watching game day, wife’s getting ready for football and soccer games for my other two then we head to the in laws for dinner and football. Wife’s driving back home because I will be pouring down beer from a new brewery in South Haven. Any recommendations are welcomed.

In Detroit for the weekend to take in a couple concerts. Ate at Lafayatte last night. Their coney dogs are still awesome!

I work 3rd shift and I'm putting in some extra hours. Should've went to bed 2 hours ago but I'm too excited to sleep. Heading there soon to hopefully sleep most of the day away. Then I'll get to watch the whole game before going in to earn some easy double-time.
