Watching OSU vs. MN
Win or lose (I think OSU will probably pull it out), I'm feeling more confident about Michigan's chances against OSU in a month or so. OSU's O-line is pretty bad, especially their tackles, and I think Winovich is going to absolutely eat them alive. I don't think you can survive by throwing the ball all over the field against Michigan, and that's the only way they're leading against MN.

2 threads down is the Noon Games Open Thread......

Eh, sometimes we'll let game-specific stuff through, but there has to be a pretty compelling reason for it typically. I only mention that as reference to the OP that, if at all possible, such comments should be confined to the provided thread.

Don't feel like talking about a bad game from OSU?

If Michigan beats OSU I will eat a lemon.
October 13th, 2018 at 3:12 PM ^
Better start looking for lemon coupons then
October 13th, 2018 at 3:28 PM ^
Why, are lemons expensive? Or is he on a $8 per month budget???
October 13th, 2018 at 3:29 PM ^
Citrus tariffs

It is weird seeing an OSU offense where the QB really isn't a threat to run the ball that much.
October 13th, 2018 at 3:10 PM ^
He can and will run vs us.
October 13th, 2018 at 3:16 PM ^
Lol have you seen him run ? Makes speight look like a Usain bolt
October 13th, 2018 at 3:27 PM ^
Charlie Batch thinks he's slow.
October 13th, 2018 at 3:35 PM ^
So does John Navarre.
October 13th, 2018 at 4:01 PM ^
Now that’s taking a bit too far with Navarre.

Only thing I remember about that play was a blatant hold on Hurst being the only reason that scramble wasn't a sack
October 14th, 2018 at 10:49 AM ^
You don't remember Haskins outrunning Gary?
October 13th, 2018 at 4:01 PM ^
He ran for a long TD against us last year. Objectivity is good sometimes.
October 13th, 2018 at 4:22 PM ^
Hard to talk shit about a guy who made our secondary look like chumps the minute he set foot on the field last year.
Somehow, once again, an injury to its own player became beneficial to OSU.
October 13th, 2018 at 11:45 PM ^
I mean he was an unknown to game plan against last year. UM had a game plan to stop the QB run last year, which was completely thrown out the window when he came in. So yes something tells me the defense will come up with a better game plan to slow him down at least, given that they know what to game plan against
October 13th, 2018 at 3:16 PM ^
You don’t belong with ”us”.
October 13th, 2018 at 3:32 PM ^
He’ll run home to his mommy after getting crushed a few times.
October 13th, 2018 at 3:56 PM ^
You need to quit saying us. You are not a Michigan fan. Not in the least.
October 13th, 2018 at 3:11 PM ^
I take solace in the fact we will never miss a field goal that bad
October 13th, 2018 at 3:13 PM ^
Maybe.
But don’t we say stuff like this every year when we watch OSU and MSU not look great? MSU always looks mediocre to bad before they play us and OSU always has a few games where they look iffy.
October 13th, 2018 at 3:15 PM ^
Except when M does it it's the end of the world. Ok. Trollish post.
October 14th, 2018 at 2:24 PM ^
You are a sorry fan.
October 13th, 2018 at 3:14 PM ^
No need for this thread other than jinxing it OP.
October 13th, 2018 at 3:17 PM ^
Beat Wisconsin. We have a lot of game to play before that OSU showdown...
October 13th, 2018 at 3:46 PM ^
True dat. My nerves are just about ready to reach into my yeti. I agree that seeing what I saw today gives me confidence, but we can’t shit the bed tonight or were playing spoiler and watching our team...once again in the who gives a shit bowl.

After seeing TCU fall off a cliff I’m really starting to wonder how good the Buckeyes are. As one poster said, they have all the talent but the pieces don’t fit together quite right.
October 13th, 2018 at 3:47 PM ^
I've thought the same. TCU has been disappointing, taking some of the luster off of that win.
OSU has several big-time players on defense, but as a unit they give up too many big plays. A recipe for a DPJ big play on Nov. 24?
After the PSU, the edge is gone. Two consecutive weeks there is talk of sleep walking through practice resulting in a sluggish start in each of their past two games. Survive a night road game next week and then they get a bye week for the stretch run and hopefully refocused so that they're ready for a Nov. 24 collision.
October 13th, 2018 at 4:27 PM ^
I am curious to see how OSU handles Purdue next week now that Purdue seems to have found its stride. Brohm will finds ways to get his offense in position to succeed, and against a defense prone to giving up a lot of big plays, Purdue has got a chance of keeping the game competitive well into the second half, maybe even into the fourth quarter.
I still expect OSU to win. But it could be a closer game than it ought to be.
October 13th, 2018 at 6:11 PM ^
Yes, the night road game @ Purdue will not be as easy as would ordinarily be expected.
Although, the last time Purdue hosted OSU at night when it looked like they were getting things together, OSU came out and kicked them in the teeth. Then the very next week Michigan totally destroyed Purdue and we have barely heard from them since.
...but that was 11 years ago. Certainly has no bearing on next week's game.

OSU looks like a big 12 team this year to me
October 13th, 2018 at 3:30 PM ^
Ok. State would tell you they're a Big XII team every year...
October 13th, 2018 at 3:47 PM ^
You honestly think they're going to play that bad against us? You poor soul.
October 13th, 2018 at 6:48 PM ^
User name totally checks out like a boss
October 13th, 2018 at 3:49 PM ^
Why is it that every screen pass Haskins throws ends up being like an 80 yard td? That's what worries me the most lol
October 13th, 2018 at 4:10 PM ^
That's inaccurate because most of their screens in that game were swallowed by Minnesota. They weren't effective until 4th quarter when the gophers were depth'd out. Overall bad game for OSU.

This is clearly not a vintage OSU squad. Either we put it out of its misery or it disgraces the league* in the playoff.
*On top of the disgrace they have already caused our league by continuing to employ a piece of shit who enables abusers.
October 13th, 2018 at 3:53 PM ^
I dislike OSU more than al-qaeda, but we all know how this story ends. They will fumble their way to 13-0 and make a run in the playoffs. I hope I’m wrong but I’m going to set my expectation there.
October 13th, 2018 at 3:59 PM ^
If the team from today shows up against Bama it’ll be more embarrassing than Sharty was a few yrs ago.
October 13th, 2018 at 3:59 PM ^
No we dont all know how the story ends. The end hasnt been written so how could we possibly know?
October 13th, 2018 at 4:05 PM ^
OSU= "Paper Tiger"
as of now, it's too ez to poke holes in e'm.
October 13th, 2018 at 4:30 PM ^
Better worry about the Badgers first
October 13th, 2018 at 4:58 PM ^
Never said anything about Michigan being the one to poke.
But if they can't shore it up, somebody poking.
October 13th, 2018 at 4:17 PM ^
Seeing the final result does make me feel ever so slightly better about our chances, but it’s still a massive monkey to try and get off our back.
OSU could lose every single starter the night before the game and I’d still feel like we’re underdogs. They have a MASSIVE psychological advantage against us where even if they’re down 28-0 going into the fourth, they will still believe they’re going to come back and win.
We've got a legit shot, but regardless of how they played today, they will be better when they play us. Probably a lot better.
October 13th, 2018 at 6:36 PM ^
Michigan absolutely has a legit shot to beat OSU. That game is going to be a battle!
Not sure how much that massive psychological advantage lasts once they take & deliver a hit. Then it's game on.
