Michigan Monday is up
Didn't see any post about this yet.
My favorite line this week, giving credit to Bench...
" By the way, fullback Ben Mason is a beast. However, I assume he’s going to miss a game eventually because the government will need his help in saving an important government official who has been kidnapped by a rogue para-military group hellbent on destroying our way of life."

Finally, something I can speak intelligently about.
I don't think Michigan is Godzilla . . .yet. But of course thats what I'm hoping for.
But there is NO WAY that OSU is Gamera.
I picture OSU as more of a Gigan, perhaps at their best, Mecha-Godzilla.
This is of course assuming that Alabama is Ghidorah, PSU is Rodan, Northwestern is Mothra, etc. etc.
I think I speak for everyone when I say I'm really looking forward to this weekend to see if Wisconsin is Megalon, or (as I suspect) Ebirah.

Meant to post in a Maryland thread tbh but old people suck at the_interwebz! Huge Godzilla fan here so liking your classifications!
MSU has to be either the Smog Monster (toxic sludge) or Baby Godzilla (minilla)...and Sparty's smoke rings look pretty weak this year

Perfect: It looks like Godzilla's little brother.

Wins the net!

To be fair, he also looks a little like Mike Hart:
Neg away but you know it's funny.
And with the game on the horizon, never too early to start to re-balance the karma;
they're gonna need the ball bouncing their way to unsure easy victory.

Still better than Godzooky.

Who would you say Sparty is? and who gets to be King Kong? Maybe Georgia or CLemson?

As someone above alluded to, the level of snark in these pieces are directly related to perceived threat of the team. If you recall, 2015 reviews up to about Northwestern were very positive and praiseful, but in a "pat-on-the-head" patronizing manner.
2016 was full of snark pieces as they realized how good we were.
2017 was snark-filled but more so as them laughing a sigh of relief from the previous year.
TL;DR yeah it's decent analysis but Buckeye Fan gon' Buckeye

I read respect in this one, unlike a few weeks ago. We all go through these stages when assessing the quality of a rival, and it looks like Gerdeman has moved from denial to acceptance.

"(Ronnie Bell) was basically rated two stars higher than you. . ."
It's hard not to like this guy.

Yeah Gerdeman's columns are fun -- you feel him rooting for Michigan to be good and to play well. I respect that -- I wish more M fans were the same, but we're going to have our inferiority complex until we beat them a few times.

The long pass play of the day was 19 yards, which is also known as a “stop” by the Ohio State defensive coaches.
Heh.

This team has the potential to win out. They have the talent and the scheme necessary to beat Wisconsin, MSU, Penn State and OSU.
The X-factor will be 'intensity'. If the team comes out intent on putting a beating on each of these teams, they will win out.
Their enemy right now is tentativeness. Petal to the metal and win out.
Go Blue!

McSorely is a concern. I thought he was just lucky with his punt/pass, but he is a play maker.

That's really good insight from Gerdeman on the Ronnie Bell TD catch, the unseen defender just slipped a few inches or he might have beaten Bell to the ball for the pick, plus if Bell did anything but catch it clean the result could have been much different.
Yet sometimes players have to be play makers and the margin for error is narrow.

Cesar Ruiz needs to know his assigment on Masons short TD. That could be a turnover or a FG attempt if not for Mason being such an animal.
Ruiz makes the right block and Mason (or even Faux Mo for that matter) is in the end zone before contact
