EDIT: MSU Now Confirmed As 12:00 PM Kickoff On Fox
The Michigan State game on October 20 got pushed to the six-day window, so unfortunately we won't know the game time until then.

This does guarantee it won't be at night, though, so that is something.
(Not that I really thought that would be case after their wet fart against Northwestern)
EDIT: Props for the very informative thread title!
DOUBLE EDIT: It's at noon per Michigan Football twitter:
THIS JUST IN: The Michigan - Michigan State game (Oct. 20) will kick off at Noon ET on FOX. #GoBlue pic.twitter.com/OyQLVMQct4

Maybe LSA can edit the OP to reflect the announced kickoff time.

Now UMich Football tweets:
THIS JUST IN: The Michigan - Michigan State game (Oct. 20) will kick off at Noon ET on FOX.
FBSchedules also just tweeted this out:

Done and done.
With luck, that eliminates the potential for a duplicate thread, although in this version of the site, I have noticed that sometimes the changes take a moment to filter down.
October 9th, 2018 at 9:25 AM ^
I'll be in Seattle that Saturday so I'll be able to watch the game at 9:00 a.m. I've never done that, Breakfast with the Wolverines.
October 8th, 2018 at 11:17 AM ^
What's the intuition behind this? A Michigan win and MSU loss this week, both likely, would probably push the game earlier right? 6-1 vs. 3-3 doesn't seem like a primetime matchup.
October 8th, 2018 at 11:23 AM ^
Nooner
October 8th, 2018 at 11:25 AM ^
Just announced noon!! That's best, IMO. No night game BS - get in, kick ass, get out.
October 8th, 2018 at 11:26 AM ^
Love it!
October 8th, 2018 at 11:31 AM ^
I typically hate noon games but I am on board with a noon kick for this one.
October 8th, 2018 at 11:32 AM ^
Shades of 2016, IMO.
October 8th, 2018 at 11:35 AM ^
I think it will take the wind out of those MSU sails. A Michigan win and Sparty loss this week will mean a hell of a lot of maize and blue in that stadium at noon.
October 8th, 2018 at 11:39 AM ^
The intensity and anxiety of that game is just usually so high by Saturday that, as a fan, I just want it to happen as quickly as it can, whatever it may be. That is why I like that The Game is always noon. Wake up, kick off, move on. I like noon kicks twice per year, MSU and OSU.
October 8th, 2018 at 11:58 AM ^
And Iowa
October 8th, 2018 at 12:09 PM ^
And @ Iowa*
October 8th, 2018 at 12:46 PM ^
This can't be upvoted enough.
October 8th, 2018 at 11:44 AM ^
Exactly my thoughts as well... hoping ticket prices plummet following Saturday to get into the stadium to watch a repeat of 2016's "Defeat with Dignity"
October 8th, 2018 at 12:05 PM ^
I hope their defeat is completely without dignity this year. I hope that Harbaugh remembers that comment, and the comments from Dorktonyo after last years game ('they used 60 formations and 2 plays', or whatever it was), and runs up the score mercilessly.
#15 ranked Wisconsin is coming to the Big House, along with GameDay, and we're still talking about beating MSU. That shit feeling runs deep...
October 8th, 2018 at 12:09 PM ^
I think we are talking about the game because the start time was announced. There weren't any other posts aside from this one. I think it is noteworthy because everybody expected, even after they lost to NW, that it would probably be a 3:30 or 4:30 game. Noon is surprising.
October 8th, 2018 at 3:05 PM ^
Although many Sparty students are passed our for a late game start.
October 10th, 2018 at 10:33 PM ^
they're in the doldrums already. I live in Lansing and they are already sandbagging. If they get curb stomped by PSU, the students will care more about the Friday night at Rick's rather than the nooner on Saturday.
October 8th, 2018 at 2:02 PM ^
For road games we should want them at noon. Gives us less of a hostile crowd to deal with.
October 8th, 2018 at 10:32 PM ^
MSU fans are angry 24 hrs/day. They don't need a head start. They can do it on command. It's a symptom if being inferior and knowing you're inferior to the point where it becomes your lifestyle.
October 9th, 2018 at 5:45 AM ^
And no trash tornadoes this time!
October 8th, 2018 at 11:39 AM ^
+1 Informative.
October 8th, 2018 at 11:17 AM ^
This completely sucks from a planning perspective. I have to go to the fucking Nebraska vs Minnesota game (to be a good husband), which is also still TBD. Just let us know what time the damn games are.
October 8th, 2018 at 11:37 AM ^
Wow. You are a VERY good husband. You deserve oh so many points for this.
October 8th, 2018 at 11:43 AM ^
Ha! It is going to be an absolute snooze fest, and we have to drive three hours down for the game. While I am a good husband, if the Nebraska/Minnesota game is also a noon (11 central) start, my ass is going to be at a bar watching the good guys destroy the spartans.
October 8th, 2018 at 11:44 AM ^
The Broken Chair Trophy game. That's a real rivalry. I'm jealous.
October 8th, 2018 at 11:18 AM ^
That's great - I wasn't looking forward to a night game in EL
October 8th, 2018 at 11:20 AM ^
So that eliminates the chance of a night game, correct?
I thought the rule was 12 day notice for night game and 6 day notice for 12:00/3:30. Im probably wrong but could've sworn ive read that
Edit- literally the first post clarifies this. dumb me
October 8th, 2018 at 11:21 AM ^
Whew, no night game. But you can probably bet on 3:30
October 8th, 2018 at 11:21 AM ^
this guarantees it’s not a night game, right? if so, i’m both happy and not surprised
October 8th, 2018 at 11:23 AM ^
Just announced as noon kick
October 8th, 2018 at 11:23 AM ^
Twitter disagrees and says a noon kick.
October 8th, 2018 at 11:27 AM ^
Except it’s not...
October 8th, 2018 at 11:29 AM ^
Noon on Fox --- just announced
October 8th, 2018 at 11:39 AM ^
Noon on Fox would mean the game ends at roughly 9:00 p.m., what with the very, very, VERY important commercial breaks that absolutely MUST be shown every 20 seconds.
October 8th, 2018 at 12:12 PM ^
It's going to be like a cricket match.
Gus: Back here at Spartan Stadium in East Lansing for Day 3 of this game. 12:15 left in the 3rd Quarter, Joel, and the Spartans really searching for answers.
Joel: Michigan kicking off in just a moment here after this word from our sponsors.
October 8th, 2018 at 12:44 PM ^
Comedy gold!
October 8th, 2018 at 11:30 AM ^
What a swing of expectations we’ve had within this thread... lol
October 8th, 2018 at 11:37 AM ^
maybe someday in the future, all the games will be played in giant TV studios and they will pay to have people attend the game in person.
October 8th, 2018 at 11:40 AM ^
Good shit
October 8th, 2018 at 11:41 AM ^
Nice. This is clearly Michigan's preferred start time, so I'm all for it.
October 8th, 2018 at 11:41 AM ^
Good. We seem to play our best at the noon frame for some reason
October 8th, 2018 at 11:43 AM ^
I love noon. Less time for the Spartan brahs to get liquored up before gametime
October 8th, 2018 at 11:45 AM ^
Apparently you've never witnessed the 9 am drunken go green go white screeches on gameday
October 8th, 2018 at 12:37 PM ^
Unlikely as the Friday night binging just gets extended a few hours.
October 8th, 2018 at 1:57 PM ^
you would think that. I was in EL for clockgate. We woke up to watch the nonsense already well underway at 7AM. At 10:30AM when we saw idiots hurling ground beef at each other we decided to head to the safe zone inside of a Subway sandwich artist destination. That 3 hour window was the only period of my life in which I dodged beer bottles.
October 8th, 2018 at 11:44 AM ^
Art Van is clearly disappointed...they were planning their weekly once-in-a-lifetime replacement couch sale in EL
October 8th, 2018 at 11:51 AM ^
I was kind of wondering whether, from a public safety perspective, noon is better or worse. On the one hand, during the daytime you can see the smoke columns rising into the air. OTOH, the flames themselves are probably more visible at night.
