St Juste played special teams last year IIRC.  Villian, however, was injured last season and this season, so he would be eligible for a sixth year.  Which would be huge, as he would help fill the void left by Chase and Gary, and could end up giving us four solid years of production.

Harbaugh says he had successful surgery this week (sources tell WolverinesWire that it was on his other knee), which is why we haven’t seen Vilain this season.

Sources tell WolverinesWire that Vilain is also not expected to suit up this season. He did receive his medical redshirt last year, and will reportedly use this season as another redshirt year, and have four years of eligibility following this one, should that hold true.

Welp definitely need Paye back ASAP then. Otherwise it seems like all we have at DE behind the starters are Hutch, Jones and Johnson. Maybe stick Uche in there for pass rush scenarios?

Edit: Johnson wasn't on the Nebraska participation chart. Neither was Uche. The only other backup DE who played was RS SO walk-on Dane Drobacky, who got his first career action. We are getting scary thing there, probably not going to get Gary or Winovich off the field much at all the next few weeks.

He will have missed two full seasons to injury. At this point I'm just hoping he can even get on the field in the future.

Damn. I remember getting really excited about this kid when he committed. Looked like he'd be an amazing pure pass rusher.

Luckily he's still got time to get onto the field. I presume we won't be seeing him this year, though.

" Most places would require a signed waiver to discuss. "

Every place would require a signed waiver to discuss.

Thing is... every athlete signs said waiver as part of their contract with the university in receiving a scholarship. In general - every athlete at every university has waived a large part of their medical privacy protections.

I believe those waivers are intended for medical staff to discuss injuries with coaches not coaches untrained in medical practices to discuss a 19 year old kids health with the national or local media but I could be wrong, if I am it’s still seems like if the coach wants to keep it in house fans and media should STFU and stop crying.
