That was impressive. I’m not going to lie, I was very worried about this game. I thought with Martinez going they would stay close or even beat us if we played sloppy. That was total domination. If not for the refs it would have been an even bigger blowout. That was exactly what I needed to see from the team. I love it. Go Blue!!!

This really isn't coaching, but don't let this 56-10 score take away from the fact that John O'Neill is a terrible referee and should be banned from officiating any game above an Arena league practice.

He has so much history of stupidity that being competent, at best, should not be considered some monumental improvement.

Also, he called targeting on Hudson but missed virtually the same one on (I think) Perry.  He also missed just a blatant hold on Winovich toward the end of the game when Nebraska was backed deep into their own endzone and probably would have been hit with a safety.  It was so bad, even the announcers were cracking up about it.

I could rant about the missed calls (holding, PI, targeting, BLANTANT face mask they didn’t call until 2009 Jimmy came back)

But first and foremost it’s the unequal application of the rules.

Hudson gets a targeting but they don’t call equal or worse ones as the prime example.

O’Neill and his crew should be doing JV 9 man football.

I am at a loss with understanding how Manuel doesn’t demand something be done with this clown.

We kept our defensive starters in this game way too long, Hudson included. I know he sat out the first half, but he should not have been in the game at that point. Now he's out first half at Northwestern. Same thing with Paye. I don't know if he's badly hurt, but your 3rd best DE should not be on the field in the fourth quarter of a blowout. Devin freaking Bush was out there until the 4th quarter. He doesn't need reps. Get him off the field and let these young LBs get some playing time and some confidence. It's good for depth and its good for morale.

Yeah the biggest problem with the refs is the lack of repercussions. If the NCAA cares about player safety why do they continue to let terrible refs get away with letting shit go, ie facemasks and head hunting by teams down a bunch. Force these refs to go back to division 2 until they improve.

I was not there, but watched the game on TV. I ageee with everyone above about the missed calls. I was yelling at the TV like a maniac. I just don't understand the singling out of O'Neill. I don't have anything for or against him, but you can't expect one person to see every call. Missed calls happen.

I don't know. Not trying to defend the guy, I guess I just don't get how you can pin every missed call on him.
