Toughest games left

Submitted by GoBlue C4 on

What is your order of the hardest games left on the schedule knowing what we know now. Mine-

1. At osu

2. At msu

3. PSU

4. Wisconsin

5. Nebraska ( w Martinez )

6. At  Northwestern

7. Indiana

8. Maryland

9. Rutgers

msu is probably the 4th best team Michigan plays the rest of the way but until this team beats a ranked team on the road they are my #2.

It's a little scary to think Michigan has a potential of 4 losses left on their schedule without a slip up but I have a lot of confidence in Harbaugh , D. Brown,  Patterson, and the rest of the team.

My pre season prediction was 10-2 with a loss to ND and msu, BT champs and an overall record of 13-3. For now I'm sticking with it . Go BLUE!

Eh, we play Penn State third in that series. At least there is a week off after MSU to heal owies and boo boos, but I think keeping up with Penn State's offensive production will be difficult. Weather could be a big factor in any of those games too.

Most likely loss is probably Staee because it is away, but hardest to beat is probably Penn State because out offense will have to produce.

1) OSU - because obviously. Whole team has to play it’s best game for us to even have a shot. But if Shea keeps progressing, he may prove to finally be the missing piece that we’ve needed in this game.

2) MSU - whatever you think about MSU as they currently are right now, understand that they will not be the same team when we play them. They will make the tackles they don’t normally make, catch the balls they normally drop, and block the defenders they normally whiff on. Get ready for a street fight.

3) PSU - thankfully at home, Barkley is gone, but McSorely is for real. Shea can do some work on their defense, and this may turn into a shootout if the offense can progress over the next month. Banking on Franklin making some bonehead in game decisions.

4) UW - not as good as we all thought they were, but still a tough opponent with a great defense. I expect a low scoring game.

Then comes the huge drop off........

5-8 are all somewhat interchangeable, and then 9 is Rutgers. Who I fully expect to get bludgeoned to death again this season. IU is probably 5 because somehow those games are always close, but Nebraska could be 5 if Martinez can play.

Buffalo is actually a pretty solid team. They have two NFL prospects in Anthony Johnson whom some considered to be the best WR prospect of the draft and Tyree Jackson who may rise up to 1st round pick as a QB prospect. Tyree Jackson is 6'7" and 245 lbs and apparently runs 4.5-4.6 which is ridiculous for a guy in his size.

Buffalo probably would hang at least 35 on Rutgers.

We're not losing to MSU. Hell, I think there's a good chance that we beat Wiscy and PSU too but that last game is probably an ugly L. They're too good at the very things that we struggle with (pass rush and a ridiculously accurate QB). I liked our chances every year when Barret was there but it's a far better offense now with their current heisman candidate QB. Chances are we go into Columbus at 9-2.

There's a real chance MSU isn't ranked when Michigan plays them.  They've got to go to Indiana and PSU coming up, two undefeated teams with decent defenses, plus play Northwestern, which could be semi-competent.

Penn state will be much tougher than MSU even if one is at home and one is on the road. I think Harbaugh gets over that D'antoni hump this year. As long as rain isn't on the forecast drevno doesn't come back to partake in play calling and coaching the o line, Michigan should win comfortably. Plus PSU is a true spread team which Michigan struggles with and Sparty is a feaux spread team and not nearly as explosive
