Jimmy. Jimmy! Where's the Fullback?

Submitted by Wings Of Distinction on

Much has been made of the OL protection. Rightfully so.

However, in this game we ran a grand total of 6 plays from the I.

That's 6. 0 times in the 3rd qtr (2,2,0,2)

Now, 5 of those 6 were rushes for 33 yards behind a lead blocker.

We did run single-back several times (many with play action), which is where the Nico 52yd strike came from.

2/3 of the time we ran shotgun. Much of that with just a rb chipper. This to me is more the problem. They had their ears pinned back all game.

6 plays with a FB. Am I really the only one that has a problem with this?

Heck man. My bad.

Please enlighten me how to avoid such condescension and disdain from you in the future.

Or was it the premise you disagree with.

Are we not on the same side? Or maybe you take yourself so seriously, you must scoff at all beneath.

Go Blue.

Fullback and Tight End. Yes Bo.

Post wherever the fuckin hell you want mah dude. Fuck the twats on this board who rain down fury on every post for some technicality and whose twats haven’t probably been fucked in a long damn time.

Some mod don’t like your diary they can damn delete it in a keystroke. Otherwise we’ll all float on.

God we are all on the same team but some days I wonder if I want to be on the same fukin team as all these asshats who love to kick their own.

Whatever your original post said - you are right  fuk everyone else

Sincerely, a big damn bottle of Costco blended strong as hell scotch, and an Ann Arbor thunderstorm.

I agree with jamesjoe.

Time was, I looked forward to reading anything someone was willing to post.  I'm no geek who has made a life out of cubicles, dark bedrooms and keyboards, I just want to read, watch and listen to whatever may be going on with M or for that matter anything that may pertain to Big athletics in general (plus things of note with most college sports).

I'm not tech savvy enough to realize why we need a Msg board AND a threads board.  Maybe someone can offer a GOOD reason (keeping in mind a good reason in your computer mind probably isn't a good reason in the rest of our blood, sweat and tears minds).  You know, the people who can actually build your house, fix your car, unclog your toilet, cook your meals, etc.

And, btw. I agree with the OP.  A fullback not only offers different options, it offers different looks.  Second and goal from the 2 yd line and we drag the ball back 11 yds?  It doesn't matter how anyone blocks anyone!  I'll never understand a coaching staff (college or NFL or even HS for that matter) who drone on and on about establishing a running game and then when only two yards are needed with 3 chances, decides to take the football BACK 11 yds and pass when we all know that (yes I'm gonna say it) 3 things can happen and 2 of them are bad!  Gone are the days of confidence when Steve Everitt ran to the line of scrimmage and before bending to grab the ball, told State (while pointing) "We're comin right HERE". And those of you old enough to care more about actual, exciting and memorable things and not where someone should type.......get it; you geeks.......don't.

All you geeks who care about spelling, apostrophe use, capitals, punctuation, where to post, how to post, worthiness of post........................are in the wrong profession.  Go teach English or keyboarding or speech somewhere where athletics is never discussed because, those of us who look forward to any small amount of thought or information actually look forward to viable back-and-forth conversation....not being chided by someone, who I guarantee, wouldn't even think of speaking to ME in a parking lot the way they speak to someone anonymously!  I believe most of you who come here just to try to control this site wouldn't come close to spouting off in such a manner if you were actually face to face with an actual person.  An OP can bring up a relatively interesting topic and 3 comments later, two posters are telling each other to F off, grow up, get a life, go away, etc.

What the hell is wrong with you people?  If you're actually logging in and taking the time and spending the effort to chastise........who exactly needs to grow up, get a life, go away or F off?

It's called a mirror.

Diaries are for long form user generated content. Say if an MGoBlogger went to a HS game that featured two M recruits and did a summary of their performance, that would be a diary. Or if someone did a UFR of last year's OSU game. Broxblue does his "best and worst" series after games. Those are diaries.

The message board is for breaking news and hawt takes.

They are separated so that quality diaries don't get immediately bumped off of the front page from floods of new message board posts that could just be a post in an existing thread.

James,

Strong tone, but I, for the most part, agree with you on the state of the MGoCrowd here lately. People replying with one word sarcastic answers and snide remarks. It didn't used to be that way. I feel like we've had a couple mega users over the past year or two that have brought my overall sentiment of the board down.

This should be a comment in one of the many many snowflake hot-takes. As a poster since 2014....But I digress.

2018 football its not 1990 football and many teams don't even have fullbacks to speak of, but I suppose its your hill to die on.

MOAR FBs ... we look so awkward out of the spread.  Seemed like every run play zone-blocked out of the gun gets blown-up and most pass plays end up in a sack or a hurry.

I swear Harbaugh does this on purpose early in the season to get people to practice for something other than his base offense.  And then come around Sparty time, he unleashes old Murderface who will be chomping at the bit to mow down all comers.
