Friendly reminder: Notre Dame phantom whistles

Submitted by BlowGoo on

Just a reminder to the program and friends thereof:

Notre Dame fans have cheated in the past by blowing whistles that sound like referee whistles to draw opposing team offsides, or getting them to cease pursuit thinking play whistled dead, etc.

Stanford called them out on it in the past, but the game before that, Notre Dame pulled the fake whistles with us.

Can't post links to the stories because of my stupid phone but hopefully someone will provide links of another reason why Notre Dame sucks.

Nothing is as it seemed it was.

I always had a bit of respect for ND fan, now I see they were likely always disingenuous wankers.

Blow your whistles till your lips bleed you insufferable pricks - all whilst sitting in your sweatily moist irish green costumes.

Michigan is going to humiliate you in your  pathetic imitation Michigan stadium!

If they're aware it is going on, they know to ignore it.

But it is only blown to draw the visiting team offsides, not the home team naturally.

Or while a ND ballcarrier is near the sideline (but still inbounds) in order to cause the defender to slowdown while figuring out if the play is legitimately dead lest they risk a late hit penalty, obviously.

Bad enough that the Stanford head coach called them out on it after it cost them the game.

I remember that during the last game Denard Robinson played at ND, officials stopped a play because of a whistle from the stands.  TV commentators said it looked as if it would have been a big gain for Michigan.  (I don't remember who the ball carrier was, but I don't think it was Robinson on that play.)

Let us all be reminded that Our Lady is a Catholic institution, which somewhat indoctrinates its students in a Christian/religious tradition.  It is a lesser research institution than our alma mater, and deserves lesser respect, in the grand scheme.
