You are correct about that. But there is no place in this country where winning percentage is a greater public concern when matched against personal and institutional integrity, than the Ohio State University football program. Winning always trumps integrity, honesty and truth. That is the No. 1 core value at The Ohio State.

Buckeye trash argument that also acknowledges Buckeye morals are garbage.  Then again, the city is named after a colonialist fraud who murdered and raped indigenous peoples and whose whole legend is based off of a lie.  I can't think of a better role model for the school.

Yeah TMZ just posted some text messages between Shelly Meyer and Courtney Smith.... Based on the tone of Shelly's texts she was obviously concerned and HOW THE F DID SHE NOT TALK TO URBAN ABOUT THOSE???!?!

She’s either a liar - did discuss them with Urban, I don’t see how that didn’t happen if they’re as close as they say they are - or she’s a terrible friend by comforting Courtney like she did in the texts then talking shit about her supposed lack of credibility behind her back.

For years, Urban has claimed that he and Shelly were sympathetic friends and advisors to the Smith family. As it turns out, that was total bullshit. Not only did Courtney Smith claim she never heard from Urban. But Shelly acting as if she was sympathetic and wanting to be a supportive friend, turned her back on her, with repeated assertions that she never believed what she confided in her, she ever believed.

Everything you read is designed to give Urban and his wife total credit for being supportive until it came time for their support to be publicly analyzed in connection with his response to actual oversight. Turns out, Urban Meyer totally sucked at supervision and Shelly sucked at friendship. And so The Ohio State is now claiming there is way to salvage this by claiming that the Smiths were totally to blame for fucking things up.

I need some help finding the ratings site that ektoping (or something similar) uses to create his diary posts that project who's going to win the division and such...I'm striking out here...

Well, this anonymous email is new, at least to me, and quite a doozy. Let me guess, Urban didn't know about this either?:

"From a friend

After I saw the reports yesterday about Zach Smith and his sex toys/sex photos, I wanted to share this info: in the summer of 2015, Zach Smith was placed by the medical director of the Ohio State University of Health System in the Sibcy House at Linder Center of Hope in Mason, Ohio. Its a residential treatment center. He was placed their we were told because of multiple substance abuse addictions and/or stimulant overuse or misuse and also to determine or rule out if he had a sex addiction. He was admitted on a Wednesday or Thursday (I dont remember the exact day) for a minimum 10 day stay but he left after only four days. He did not complete his treatment and patients are required to stay the 10 days and then we access whether the patient should stay an additional 14, 21 of 28 days. It was evident to me that he had no intention of completing the program or even taking it seriously. He remarked the first day that he was sure this would soon gonna hit the media. I browsed the internet and saw no mention of this. I was an employee of this facility and we treat a lot of high profile people. After reading about his issues at Ohio State it seems obvious something happened in summer of 2015 because something written on the internet said an OSU staff member was reassigned because she had sex with Zach in 2015. Based on the timing the school then sent Zach to rehab but he never completed it.

I wanted to pass this along because it didn’t make sense to me why a school like Ohio State would keep him as a coach if he had all of these domestic violence issues didn’t complete his rehab and the other things he reportedly did in the past several years. I can not reveal my name. I hope you understand. Thank you and God Bless."

I heard about how Zach Smith went to a rehab center and left after a few days without completing his treatment and then how the OSU staff accepted him back despite the fact that he did not even complete his obligations. I did not, however, hear about it in this sort of depth. The fact that they let him back after not even completing his treatment is bad enough. Just paints a very VERY bad picture.

Holy shit how did they not conclude that Meyer destroyed evidence?!?!   Not only did he have the discussion with his assistant coach about it but then the next day (August 2) his agent texted him and told him that two women would be coming over and would need 4 hours with his phone!   Did the investigators bother to find these women?!?!  That’s in the ESPN article, which I cannot seem to embed via my phone

You should understand that neither Meyer nor AD Smith responded to phone-related message or text information requests from the university. These were requests precipitated by the school newspaper, and officials within the football department along with Meyer failed to turn over his phone.

The requests were launched by the school's general counsel's office and then not followed up. And the Board of Trustees and president have taken no action in connection with that insubordination.

Both the Big Ten and NCAA have apparently given their blessing to the action taken. And it appears that unless some media organization presses the issue, nobody will ever have reviewed the contents of either Meyer or Smith's phone.

It's almost like following a message maze that gives the appearance of proper response and follow-up when nothing actually happened and nobody at the school thought it was worthwhile to make sure orders were followed. Because, after all, who the fuck is gonna push the issue?
