OT: Friday night smoking thread

Submitted by I'm Batman on

crack, weed, and salmon.

But seriously, when the sticky icky goes fully legal after this falls election. Are we gonna have smoking threads where we all compare and contrast strains? Or is this just a luxury of the alcoholics?

Idea for a new strain: Urban Meyer. Type: heavy indica. Use: helps with coping with stress secondary to poor life decision. Helps relieve chest pain. Side effects: selective memory impairment.

I can see it now...

Joe: “did you hear z was whippin his girl”

John: “bro, I don’t even know what’s going on with them. I’ve been stressed and smoking Urbs hard after my girl caught me cheating on her”

Actually shrooming tonight. Semi annual tradition with the wife. We’ve been up on the rooftop deck giggling for a couple hours. Going through a little lull now. Not sure why I’m here.

Olivia Maduro O tonight.

camacho American barrel aged tomorrow

pot ages your brain and makes you stupid. Seen it in person many times over. I'm also around young "adults" who routinely smoke it and either they weren't too smart to start with or them smoking pot made them not too bright. Not sure which one. Bottom line, the pot culture seems to take over their entire life. Everything revolves around getting stoned.

Don't misunderstand, I'm NOT saying to ban it. Just that smoking it might not be the best thing in the long term physiologically speaking. One thing is for sure, more studies will come out and I'm sure many of them will contradict each other just like coffee and caffeine studies.

Odd.  I know a fair number of professors at top universities (Cal and UM), medical doctors and scientists (PhDs) who smoke daily ... not to mention the “regular” folks I know that smoke daily who work in finance, banking, sales etc.

i literally do not know a single person who smokes regularly and “the pot culture has taken over their whole lives”

are there stupid people who smoke regularly?  Sure.  But it doesn’t MAKE you stupid.  If you’re a lazy idiot, you’re a lazy idiot whether you smoke or not.  If you’re hardworking and intelligent, you’re hardworking and intelligent whether you smoke or not.

Besides, any anti-pot person is full of shit unless they’re also anti-alcohol, anti-tobacco, anti-Tylenol, anti-ibuprofen etc.  All those all kill far more people every year than pot.  Alcohol is proven to have far more dangerous short term and long term effects than pot.

in closing, fantastic cigar selection.  Smoking a Montecristo white tonight

First off, it's not the age, it's the mileage.

Secondly, chronic weed smokers are best classified as those who "don't give a fuck" whether they are genius are idiot.

So, often when people try to tell me about some boring shit I don't give a fuck about, I act really stupid and once they realize they aren't going to impress me they go away.

I had some Strawberry Banana early in the night. It started off great with euphoria, but as it grew (an hour later), I just became way too tired. Not a fan of the strain. I'm more of a Jack Herer kind of guy, but had some great Jet Fuel recently. Despite it's harsh smell, i was in a great mood and got lost in four hours of work one afternoon.

Yeah right dude.  It's only the "drugged up hippies" that are leading the legal pot revolution.  Do you have any idea how many professionals smoke pot?  How many church goers smoke pot?  How many teachers smoke pot?  How many athletes smoke pot?  I could go on and on, but the answer is:  a lot.

John Beohner of all people sits on the board of Acreage Holdings. I also have a couple friends who work for Private Equity firms in the deep south and both the companies they work for are lining up deals to move forward (very conservative PE companies). Heck, in Canada, Molson is developing a cannabis beer. Also, cannabis sales are projected to pass soft drinks by 2030 (?). The tidal wave is coming.

EDIT: Also forgot....a guy I know from high school, who is pretty damn conservative, and whose family owns one of the larger farms in Maryland, recently told a few of us at a reunion, that once its legal in his state, he will make it his main crop (or as much as the law allows him to grow).

OMG!

Can you imagine the cheap cocaine and heroine when the DEA decides to task all it's man power to bust marijuana end users on Schd1, not to mention they wouldn't ever "catch" more than 2%.

It would literally be the end of the DEA.
