Urban Meyer: A Prediction
As we saw in Gainesville, when the heat is turned up on Urban he starts to crack. I see him losing four games this autumn and his health will become an issue when he makes a wrong turn on the way to the Horseshoe and winds up confused at a rest stop in Chillicothe. Attributed to a bad reaction to medication. His daughters plead with him to attend to his health.
And on the sidelines for opening day 2019...Matt Campbell.

Urban isn't going anywhere
but Campbell is the likely heir

If Meyer leaves OSU in the next nine months for any reason, he’ll be coaching Notre Dame in 2019
August 24th, 2018 at 9:59 PM ^
Heat turned up? OSU just threw a bucket of cold water on the situation. He’s going to walk around with chest puffed out believing he’s bulletproof.
August 24th, 2018 at 10:10 PM ^
Meyer entered 2010 at Florida getting questioned about the ridiculous number of player arrests. He lost 5 games and emotionally cracked. This coming after two national championships in four years. Buckeye Nation may back him, just as Gator Nation did. But Urban is fragile. Whenever anyone questions him he gets pissed. He's gonna crack. Seriously.
August 24th, 2018 at 10:17 PM ^
isn't that basically why he got into this trouble? He won't accept criticism and won't make tough decisions. He just puts them off until it's a big mess.
August 24th, 2018 at 10:23 PM ^
Gator Nation.....Buckeye nation....
and Zach Smith finds himself in..... condom nation
don't forget to tip your waitstaff...
August 24th, 2018 at 10:33 PM ^
I will not condemn a safe sex nation. Abstinence is ineffective, says Zach Smith.
August 24th, 2018 at 11:23 PM ^
Guilty conscience. That hypocrisy shit can get corrosive.
August 24th, 2018 at 11:47 PM ^
Lemon bet?
August 25th, 2018 at 5:04 AM ^
This is logical, and the likely scenario. Questions will linger, and intensify, as they should. It's now just a matter of time...
August 26th, 2018 at 12:23 AM ^
Unfortunately, Urban has a much more tenured staff than he had at Florida. He’ll have no choice but to be checked out and probably realize he can feel comfortable delegating to his shithead staff.

They didn't quite throw a bucket of cold water on the fire. They tried, but the modern day internet news cycle means you have to be careful with everything now. Gone are the days when everything is paper and can be shredded, gone are the days when you have to go to some effort to retrieve physical news records. No trips to a library, no searching through microfiche. I just finished reading about Maurice Claret for the first time; it's a story from 2004! I also just finished reading the OSU report from a couple days ago. It's worded very carefully, and it's also a joke.
OSU trolls were offering to help us with "big words" this week. Let me help them with learning how to read between the lines. Here is what was between the lines of that report:
"OK, there is some really damning shit here in these facts. We are choosing to pretend to believe Urban Meyer when he says he did something, didn't do something, or his memory wasn't clear, or he forgot, or he doesn't remember lying. Understand this, people. We HAVE to pretend to believe him. If we don't pretend to believe him, then on these facts we have to recommend firing his ass, and our client, who pays our bills, doesn't want to do that. If anyone reading this report thinks that we can charge $1000/hour for not making the client happy then we don't know what to tell you."

I've watched him in Gainesville, where I did my PhD, and through this. He's a brittle guy. Plus, I think there's more to come. It's not going to end well for Urban Meyer.
August 25th, 2018 at 2:36 PM ^
It has so far.
He made 20K per day on suspension.
He will actually get two milestone days off on Saturdays against non-conference, non-threatening opponents.
He is laughing all the way to the bank.
"All's Well That Ends Well"....
All's Well so far.
How it Ends?
Well.................he will not Pay.....He will Pass that Forward.................

Let’s assume this isn’t crazy...which four? TCU, Penn State, Purdue, Michigan?
August 24th, 2018 at 10:06 PM ^
I'm not concurring with the OP but remember that they did randomly get blown out by Iowa last year. Anything can happen in CFB.
August 24th, 2018 at 10:13 PM ^
Operative word being “randomly.” You think they’re just going to have four terrible days to inferior teams? Come on.
August 24th, 2018 at 10:30 PM ^
That’s Purdue this year
August 25th, 2018 at 10:43 AM ^
I think Purdue is a little overrated this year. They lost a lot on defense. I don't think they'll be quite as good as last year.
That said, OSU has had some peculiar struggles against them. They are 3-4 @ Purdue since 2000. (Sadly, Purdue has beaten OSU more than UM has in that time, despite playing six fewer games.)
August 24th, 2018 at 10:50 PM ^
Michigan State in the abuser enabler game maybe?
August 25th, 2018 at 3:32 AM ^
MSU vs. OSU is the Title IX Bowl...
August 25th, 2018 at 10:11 AM ^
If State Rutgers is the Situation trophy, what is State OSU trophy?
August 24th, 2018 at 11:05 PM ^
They play Michigan State away. Pretending that Sparty isn't a good team isn't going to make them go away. It's the opposite actually.
August 24th, 2018 at 10:03 PM ^
Ohio St. isn't losing 4 games this year.
August 24th, 2018 at 10:08 PM ^
Thanks for confirming that's all that matters to you!
August 24th, 2018 at 10:09 PM ^
You're right. He forgot the bowl game. They lose five.
August 24th, 2018 at 10:11 PM ^
Thanks. We forgot the bowl game. Let’s make it 8-5.
August 25th, 2018 at 3:22 AM ^
+1 Because I hope you’re right
August 24th, 2018 at 10:07 PM ^
Beat Notre Dame!
August 24th, 2018 at 10:13 PM ^
McMurphy is predicting the same, saying he’d be “shocked” if he’s still on their sidelines in 2019.
August 25th, 2018 at 1:55 PM ^
Based on what?
August 24th, 2018 at 10:18 PM ^
If I had a penny for every time an OSU fan says something along the lines of "PC witch hunt" this year, I'd be able to buy out Urban's contract and still have enough money left over for a gilded dildo for Zach Smith
August 25th, 2018 at 1:05 AM ^
Best comment I've read all day. Thank you!
August 25th, 2018 at 1:01 PM ^
I had a surprisingly cordial and coherent discussion with a Buckeye last night (at a nice hotel lounge off Michigan Ave.), and he was of the belief that Urb would likely retire at the end of this year. Again, an n value of =1, so take it for what it is worth.
August 24th, 2018 at 10:21 PM ^
I live near Chillicothe its a shit hole. It would be perfect for Urban
August 24th, 2018 at 10:31 PM ^
Yeah. Picked Chillicothe on purpose. Spent a long night in a redneck bar back in my younger days.
August 24th, 2018 at 11:05 PM ^
What bar?
August 25th, 2018 at 12:18 AM ^
All I remember is it was downtown.
August 25th, 2018 at 12:22 AM ^
Im sure it was amazing lol
August 24th, 2018 at 10:37 PM ^
Is the Ponderosa Buffett still open?
August 24th, 2018 at 11:06 PM ^
Im not sure. Probably. We still have one in Wheelersburg
August 24th, 2018 at 10:22 PM ^
Urban Meyer = Shooter McGavin
August 24th, 2018 at 11:41 PM ^
Urban eats pieces of shit for breakfast.
August 24th, 2018 at 10:34 PM ^
Yeah but I bet he forgets about it with his dementia.
August 25th, 2018 at 9:44 AM ^
So he does it over and over and over and over...
August 24th, 2018 at 10:34 PM ^
McMurphy predicted Urban won’t be the coach next year because of his body language at the press conference. Drake and Smith don’t have his back.
August 25th, 2018 at 12:26 AM ^
Imagine...a low life incompetent asshole like Zack Smith stabs Urban Meyer in the back. How utterly appropriate.
August 24th, 2018 at 10:35 PM ^
What would happen if OSU has a less than stellar year. Would the fan base find their integrity suddenly and turn on Urban?
August 24th, 2018 at 11:50 PM ^
I don’t know. I guess we’ll have to see.
