I gotta believe there will be more parents that will say nope, not going there. It wouldnt even be a question in my family. Same with MSU.

Maybe he slipped in the rankings and OSU told him to look around. Sounded like all their recruits were glad Urb was not let go, and thought he was unjustly penalized.

I honestly doubt many more are coming. Anyone who's committed to going there is probably the same type of person.

I did hear that this kids dad played at OSU, so major props to him for being the first.

Agreed.  As much as I hate osu, there are a lot of great kids that go there to play football.  I remember when this story first broke, AJ Hawk and James Laurinaitis were both hosting college football shows.  They were both on the side of Urban should probably be fired.  And they gave their opinions with a lot of class.  Not all osu players are like their fans or the Borens'.

Yeah, I don't see many more de-commits coming.  These are 17 and 18 year old kids and I doubt their primary focus is domestic abuse.  They see how much Meyer wins and that OSU is very successful on the football field / gets alot of kids to the NFL, and that's what they're probably focused on given most of the kids they recruit are 4 star / 5 star types that realize they have a good chance to make the league.  The parents only have so much say and they probably have two sets of parents, the ones that could care less about the moral aspect and believe it's their child's best bet to get to the league, and the ones who care about morality, but only have so much say as it's still ultimately their kids choice.

Maybe ... but all heartfelt Mom's are going to f-ing dump Urban Meyer so fast ... why play for that dirtbag when there are so many other options out there.  Many other sons are soon to look elsewhere and maybe more will de-commit.  This would be a very logical outcome.

I suspect you might be underestimating how prevalent domestic violence is, and how many recruits are close to women who have been abused, and have seen the men get away with it and the women live in fear because the people who have the power to bring enough pressure to stop it—people like Urban Meyer—do fucking nothing at all.

Harbaugh had great commentary about Meyer, implicitly but w/o naming names on his podcast when this first broke a few weeks back.

He mentioned how the truely bad men are a relatively small number, but it’s really the rest of us who have to look out for women and kids, pay attention, and not be afraid to ask questions and speak up.

Agree completely.  Thought back to how quickly Moeller was shown the door.  Loved Moe, but some mistakes are inexcusable.

When RichRod brought FB it’s first probation for Stretchgate, yeah it was stupid. At least it wasn’t $$, tattoos or academic fraud.  We broke the rules, accept we earned probation.

The Gibbons matter still makes me wonder WTF Brady?

We expect more from the Michigan family.  Not perfection, but accountability, integrity and hard work.  Get up when we stumble.  Don’t lie and cover shit up.

There’s a reason Bucky and Sparty think we look down on them.  We do.  Not because we think we’re better.

Its because they live in the gutter.  That’s who they are, who they choose to be, their ethos.

Why does this have to have anything to do with Meyer? Maybe the kid got his neighbor's dog pregnant or something, and wants to take responsibility?

If it did have to do with these events, Ohio State will not care.  They have already shown that they are willing to trade ethical integrity for trophies and bowls.

Will be the first and likely only one. Big bad Meyer will still largely get whoever the hell he wants.

Only thing that’s going to really change recruiting is if their season goes off a cliff a la Florida after Tebow left.

Heck yes.  Listen, there is more shit to come down on this.  Urban and OSU could be in the NCAA shitter before Courtney is done with the disclosures.  Why wait until after signing day and then get duped like the Ole Miss recruits?  OSU is going down the shitter. Big mistake backing that dirtbag Urban Meyer.

I wish but I doubt it.  Courtney has probably disclosed what she has.  Common sense and the facts should have canned Meyer and damage OSU, but it doesn't look like it now.  The investigative committee basically said his first inclination when he heard about the situation was to delete old text messages, you have the Powell police department re-creating police reports, and OSU giving Gene Smith the equivalent of a 4 week vacation for all of this.  It's just a joke, I hope it's not over, but it's hard to believe it's not when this kind of bullshit happens.  It'd be great if there's some tech expert / journalist out there that could somehow get Meyer's old messages retrieved.  I can only imagine the pot of gold those would hold, probably enough so to bring down the Florida and OSU athletic departments.

I dig your passion Mongo, but I'm guessing you're young.  NCAA do something?  You're joking right?  If anything, they'll endorse the investigation ala the Bunk10.  That organization is trash.  This will blow over by next week.  People will lose interest in the story.  OSU will go 11-1 ish.  The narrative that will play out is how they've overcome the adverstiy.  Sad but true.  Look at MOO-u - outside of Michigan, nobody gives a shit about that story.

I took the time to read OSU message boards and articles.  It seems all the other OSU verbal commits are glad that Meyer is back and there are solid.  Alot of times, players and people rally around their Coach that they feel has been unfairly mistreated and vilified in public.   Just saying that this happens.  Us against the world mentality.  The reality is that Meyer will probably recruit a better LB.  From what I have read, the OSU players are very angry and motivated at what they believe has  been a media witch hunt against their Coach for a failed marriage of an assistant.   OSU has become a super motivated Team as a result.  It should be one incredible football year in the B1G.  So much intrigue.
