Would be interesting if Michigan and other B1G schools could sue the conference for damaging their reputation, but I'm sure conference bylaws don't allow it and not sure how they could prove a damaged reputation.  But there should be talks among thee non-scandal plagued teams to change leadership and support more punitive measures.

Beyond this ruling this should just show how all rules and regulations in the NCAA are just cum against the mirror, reflection be dampened.

Not surprising in the least. This is, after all, the same organization that clearly didn't want Michigan to beat OSU in 2016, so they paid the referees a bonus to not make the proper calls.

EDIT: This is insane to me. I mean, of course the Big Ten is going to say that, as they don't want to lose the second best coach in college football, but come ON, man. EVERYONE outside of OSU and the Big Ten front office are saying Meyer should have been fired for this. What does that say to you, Big Ten and OSU? Here's a hint - you're flat the fuck out wrong.

Seriously would love it if Manuel came out and made a contrary statement.

Edit: I say this knowing full well it would result in more phone calls between Delany and the refs before each of our games

And I think that would be the case as well.

Whereas there's animosity between us and OSU, MSU, and PSU, Northwestern and Wisconsin have generally been friendly competitiors.  Heck Fitzgerald and Chryst have both publicly stated admiration for Harbaugh (Especially Fitz. When Harbaugh first showed up, Fitz publicly said he intended to pick Harbaugh's brain about football.  Smart move).

This decade, 5 out of the 7 schools in the Big Ten East have had a coach either fired or suspended for ethical reasons.  Ohio State has had two.  MSU hasn't, but maybe should.  And Hoke could/should have for the Shane Morris debacle.

There was a thread yesterday about leaving the conference. I thought it mostly in jest and didnt give it much actual thought.

I am now officially embarrassed to be associated with this conference. Edit to say I am also embarrassed it took this long. And to where my original point was going... I support leaving the Big Ten 100%. We are better off independent if that is the only other option. Just in case Warde and co are reading this.

Is there a back story to why Jim Delany doesn't like Michigan?  I read comments periodically that he is always trying to undermine UM's success.  The reason I'm asking is it seems to me Michigan and Ohio State should be the crown jewels of the conference and it would make sense for him that both perform well.  I understand his support for all things OSU, but why not UM?  It seems like if Michigan were one of the best teams in the country that would be good for the Big Ten as a whole, moreso than say a successful MSU or Wisconsin.

I don’t think anyone other than he knows for sure. But, his first conference commissioner position was as AD of the Ohio Valley Conference, so that time may have played a role. Here’s a good article on the beginning of the Michigan-Delaney distrust: http://articles.chicagotribune.com/1990-08-16/sports/9003080807_1_wayne-duke-supervisor-of-football-officials-commissioner-jim-delany

Yeah, yeah, yeah.  What would you expect from an organization that's right at the epicenter of the movement in the U.S. of big money sports without integrity.  Right along side the NCAA and NFL.

This is so strange.  Why not just stay silent on the issue?  Why are they tripping over themselves to defend OSU’s support of domestic violence?

Is Jim Delany actually an older Zach Smith time travelling from the future?

He just grew back out those stupid side hair tufts? Would make a ton of sense why the B1G seems to love OSU and fuck us over

Every media outlet and journalist, outside of ohio, has publicly blasted the outcome of this circus.  Here comes the B10 and their decision to give osu some company, sitting next to them on the stool of public shame, wearing the morally bankrupt dunce hat.

WTF?

There should be a bunch of phone calls happening between AD's around the B10 agreeing to a group statement disavowing the B10's support of this shitshow.

This is a disgrace.  I would love to see Michigan leave the Big Ten at this point.  Sickening.

Brian's words on WTKA really speak to me.  I paraphrase:  "If you support Urban Meyer, you are a bad person."  And "God damn it" in utter disgust.  "This is exactly why women do not come forward".

The Big Ten backing Ohio State is the tipping point for me.  This is the spot where I have gone from excited about football, to disgusted with the slime.  If Michigan does not speak out otherwise, at this point they are complicit.  And that idea makes me sad.

God Damn It.
