META : Why can't we update the depth chart anymore?

Submitted by d_ronii on

I always thought it was cool that established mgoblog users could update the mgoblog Football depth chart. But now, apparently we have lost the privilege to update this information as roster moves are being made. As a result  the depth chart looks grossly out of date and less useful. I don't know if the new and improved site caused this issue or if it was disabled after somebody screwed it up. Regardless of the reasons, I would like to get an understanding from the community. How can we fix this moving forward? (10000 points threshold to edit?)

I have sent an email to Brian last week but haven't heard back as of yet.

Geez man, this is a real world problem. I'll make sure to ask everyone I know so that we can get to the bottom of this. I have a question for you though. If your mom is right above you, why don't you just yell upstairs and have her come down with a glass of milk and then she can tuck your candy ass in so the bed bugs don't bite.

Well, that was a little uncalled for...

Actually, this is probably one of the few places where it IS a problem. It seems like some of the items which used to be open to editing for all no longer are, so there are definitely lingering permissions issues. Actually, if someone has the updates and is willing to send them to me, I can see if I can do it.

I think it's because someone transfers out of the program everyday so it's hard to keep it accurate.

From what I understand, you can't even edit your MGoBoard Post. Editing rights to the depth chart page will be restored, but I'm sure it's near the bottom of the list of things they are worried about fixing. Give HUEL and MGOBLOG the time to work through and fix all these bugs.
