When Michigan Merchandising Goes Too Far

Submitted by Bando Calrissian on

Are you a Michigan Man or Woman who enjoys the finer things? Have you found the MDen's selections too passe, perhaps even too proletariat for your liking? Do you find your game day attire lacking proper and glamorous markers of your economic station and social comportment?

I give you the $10,000 Swarovski Crystal-studded, full-sized Michigan replica football helmet. Suitable for only the finest of Old Blue formal occasions. Fire up your money cannon, and don't forget the $50 shipping. This is a must for every discerning fan.

"The Swarovski Crystal range includes lead crystal glass sculptures and miniature, jewelry and couture, home decor, and chandeliers. It is best known for its small animal figurines.

Crystal glass is produced by melting a mixture of quartz sandminiumpotash and soda at high temperatures."

So $10K gets you a Michigan helmet bedazzled with leaded glass. Obviously aimed at the "way more money than sense" demographic.

I think we’ll know it went too far when the maize and blue condom with go blue on the side hits the market.

I saw this at the Victors Collection a week ago and didn't think anything of it.  I said to the guys working, lol "look at that. A dedazzled helmet."

Since then, I've seen it on the twitters and now here.  Apparently it wrankles people a little more than I thought it would.

To each their own, I guess.
