This is probably my favorite raw stat for predicting defensive success. YPP is important, and no surprise that we've been elite in the last few years.
Also, OSU is the only school in the top ten in both offense and defense YPP. Yeah, they've been really good yall.

That powerful offense is the brainchild of Kevin Wilson. I wanted Michigan to somehow get him. I HATED when the news came out during the season that he was likely going to leave Indiana and go to Ohio St as offensive coordinator.

Our defense was not as good as that ranking last year. It was young and it folded against PSU, Wisconson, OSU 2nd half and Clemson 4th quarter.

How 'bout them Aztecs? Top ten defense over the playoff era, plus an offense that has a 2000 yard rusher seemingly every year running the I form like an old USC team. I know Rocky Long is old, but it's kinda weird he never gets brought up as a great G5 coach.

Why? Shouldn't the focus be on the not even mediocre offense rather than jumping from 2 to 1 in YPP allowed. Doesn't seem like that would move the overall needle much.
