Urban getting his message out

Submitted by Bigfoot on

This post has been posted by 2 different users on bucknuts, a poster on Penn state 247, and a poster on the rivals main board almost simultaneously. It has been in tweets and retweeted by a Columbus dispatch writer.  It is coordinated, and likely his only chance at staying:

I was forwarded this text by a buddy who got this text from a clued-in source... TIFWIW, like how the text starts, but if true, yes please...

***Not sure if this is all 100% accurate but...

From a coworker who is osu alumni and connected there still

Our friend is a personal friend of Urban, this information supposedly came from Urban. Thought you would like to know.

*Urban is looking at a 3-4 game suspension, mostly because the #MeToo movement and the appearance the university must give.

*Many members of the University have known about both her and him for quite some time.

*They never acted on information because there was never any proof of guilt one way or the other.

*Photos are from 2010 and there is no proof the harm was caused by him.

*He and she are both drunks and they are both crazy. She is REALLY crazy.

*She called 911 (66) times in 90 days.

*She got pulled over 3 times for DUI. On each time they let her off and escorted her home.

*Each time she began crying and stated Zach was chasing her and she was afraid. Each time Zach was at practice.

*911 actually stopped sending squads because they stopped finding her credible. They came numerous times with 911 verifying Zach was engaged in Ohio State activities.

*In Zach's and her court hearing the Powell police are testifying on his behalf.

*She has come to OSU practices numerous times drunk, chasing after Zach, threatened to blow people up and other various threats.

*She never worked and when divorced lived off of Zach's child support.

*When Zach was fired she realized she would lose income and freaked out. She reached out to anyone. She was asking 6-figures for her story.

Anything can still happen, but they decided to suspend Urban with pay to separate the media frenzy from the practices. Apparently there is no proof of anything. Just two crazy people who should have never been together.

This sounds like some hardcore victim blaming, not to mention total BS.

If this is all true why fire him?

Why lie about it at B1G media days?

So let's take all that info as fact and assume that the victim is insane and there is some conspiracy out to get Zach Smith. None of that nonsense denies or contradicts the fact that Smith beat his pregnant wife....so he should still be fired/arrested and if the victim is insane that doesn't absolve Urban or not reporting domestic abuse, which again no part of that story denies abuse took place.

Just when I thought MSU handled a situation as poorly as could be. If they actually do this, the media will be alllllllllllllll over them.

Wow. How lame and insulting can this be? Almost all of it, but the part about her never working and living off of child support just makes  whomever released this info seem childish in a blatant attempt to tarnish her image.

My main questions are does OSU have proof of any of this and, if so, why did they fire Smith?

I am amazed how many people claim to be "clued-in" whenever stuff like this happens.

It's also about 99% bullshit, but that won't stop the same people from copy-pasting it a dozen times.

Let's say she is a liar. You don't think Zach would have told Urban about how his crazy ex wife is making wild and untrue allegations about him? Urban still dug himself a hole regardless of the real truth. Something stinks in Columbus and that stink is coming from Urban.

Too bad the text from Shelley Meyer to Courtney Smith kind of discredits all of this. Shelley wouldn’t of acted that way if Courtney was just “acting crazy.”

Even if all of this is true(and I have seen enough dysfunctional/shitshow relationships to allow for the possibility).  It still doesn't explain A) nothing being done about getting the shitshow away from the team until the situation could calm down and B) Urban lying his ass off about it at media days.

I'll even allow for being reluctant to fire the guy if no charges are filed as that does put you in an interesting legal situation, but the whole doing nothing and then lying about it is still a problem.

A whole lot of people needed a whole bunch of help and got very little.  That includes Zach Smith who obviously has a lot of issues.  If only there was someone who could have stepped in with some authority, strength and compassion.

There is a less than zero chance he gets a 3-4 game suspension. It’s fairly black or white. Either he knew and he gets fired or he didn’t know and gets reinstated. What could he possible have done and what would they base a 3-4 game suspension on?

Total grain of salt there. And this sounds like victim blaming from a fanbase scared of what could happen.

As always, let's wait for the facts to come out.

This "story" can explain a lot of things but unless the Shelley Meyer texts saying she's afraid of Zach Smith are fake then I don't believe the rest of this.

Easy to Prove as Bullshit.

XM or another law enforcement person can correct me if I am wrong...

"*911 actually stopped sending squads because they stopped finding her credible. "

This is the part screaming bullshit.  If someone calls 911, they respond.  Period.

I work in telecom and still do some work on the old landline side of the shop.  There are occasions that cause phantom 911 calls.  Most often it is older cordless phones like your grandparents have.  When the battery runs low it puts out a signal so the base unit is aware of low battery.  Some of the voice switching equipment picks that up as a 911 call, but there is no one on the line.

Police roll EVERY TIME and will get quite pissed about it.  The people whose equipment is doing it aren't very fond of the police banging on their door at any random hour of the morning in response to a 911 call.

I get involved as technical support to figure out why this is happening, usually after a week or two.  Never, have the police or 911 centers been willing to ignore those calls even if it takes some time to sort out the trouble.

The things that jump out to me about this fake story are 1. That he mentions her being a stay at home mom and living off his child support as some sort of attack on her character which.. wow. And 2. I'm not in law enforcement so maybe someone can help me out, but aren't the police required to respond to every call regardless of the situation and if its a repeat faker they can charge the faker with something?  If the Columbus police just didn't respond to that many calls I would think they would be in hot water as well.  Any way, don't get caught bringing a logic to a stupid fight i guess.

Brian, I know Ace is not feeling well, but this thread should not be on this site. It’s victim blaming and gives credibility to a woman who was beaten and stalked.

Please delete and and if you won’t, I’ll bam myself from this site

I like this speculation, because much of it can be objectively proven.

~An investigation may indeed show if others knew about Zach Smith (and perhaps that Urban Meyer's reporting obligations were either met or were mooted).

~Indeed, there will be very little in terms of "proof of guilt" with Zach Smith, because on so many occasions, Courtney Smith had reported to police but did not follow through with assistance of a prosecution.  That is a matter of police and court records.

~DUI contacts with Powell/Dublin/Columbus police may be provable.  Anybody who doesn't think that there are occasions in which cops take drunk drivers home doesn't know L. Brooks Patterson or a half dozen members of the Detroit City Council.

~"66 calls to 911" ought to be provable.

~The recent and future court hearings will be open and transcribed.  Sorry, Zach; sorry Courtney; no more sealed court records.  This is a criminal proceeding, not a civil divorce file.

~If Courtney Smith came to practices drunk and abusive and out of control, there will be about 125 witnesses to say so.

~Her employment history and earnings (or no earnings) will be a matter of record and so will her support payments since her divorce.  I've already been abused (proudly so, of course) for the rather obvious and hardly surprising speculation that Courtney Smith's demeanor changed entirely when she was confronted with the loss of support via the loss of Zach's OSU paycheck.

~Her asking for six figures for her story is hardly surprising; her motive is obvious.  If she did ask that, it will not be privileged.  And ultimately, her income just might be exposed if and when the Franklin or Delaware County courts hold a hearing on the matter of a modification of the couple's support order.  If Courtney Smith's only income in 2017 was her spousal support and child support, and if her income in 2018 was a 1099 income of $250,000 with no W2 statement, then yeah I think that rumor will be confirmed.

Their is no real hurry in the Meyer household.

He makes over $20,000 every day of the year.

Since his paid 'timeout' he has made another $100,000 ................

so far.

Bonus to come (wait for it)......................
