Urban getting his message out

Submitted by Bigfoot on

This post has been posted by 2 different users on bucknuts, a poster on Penn state 247, and a poster on the rivals main board almost simultaneously. It has been in tweets and retweeted by a Columbus dispatch writer.  It is coordinated, and likely his only chance at staying:

I was forwarded this text by a buddy who got this text from a clued-in source... TIFWIW, like how the text starts, but if true, yes please...

***Not sure if this is all 100% accurate but...

From a coworker who is osu alumni and connected there still

Our friend is a personal friend of Urban, this information supposedly came from Urban. Thought you would like to know.

*Urban is looking at a 3-4 game suspension, mostly because the #MeToo movement and the appearance the university must give.

*Many members of the University have known about both her and him for quite some time.

*They never acted on information because there was never any proof of guilt one way or the other.

*Photos are from 2010 and there is no proof the harm was caused by him.

*He and she are both drunks and they are both crazy. She is REALLY crazy.

*She called 911 (66) times in 90 days.

*She got pulled over 3 times for DUI. On each time they let her off and escorted her home.

*Each time she began crying and stated Zach was chasing her and she was afraid. Each time Zach was at practice.

*911 actually stopped sending squads because they stopped finding her credible. They came numerous times with 911 verifying Zach was engaged in Ohio State activities.

*In Zach's and her court hearing the Powell police are testifying on his behalf.

*She has come to OSU practices numerous times drunk, chasing after Zach, threatened to blow people up and other various threats.

*She never worked and when divorced lived off of Zach's child support.

*When Zach was fired she realized she would lose income and freaked out. She reached out to anyone. She was asking 6-figures for her story.

Anything can still happen, but they decided to suspend Urban with pay to separate the media frenzy from the practices. Apparently there is no proof of anything. Just two crazy people who should have never been together.

That's exactly right. This is a black and white situation. There's no in between. There fucking shouldn't be anyway. All of this evidence regardless of the character of the ex-wife still shows that Zach abused his wife physically and mentally. With all of this national attention and everyone just letting Urban have it, you'd think he will step down in the next couple of days. There isn't one person with average common sense that hears or reads all of this and believes that Urban didn't know a thing. Not a chance. He's a liar and he knows what he is doing but decisions like this shouldn't be cleared because one guy can lie his way out of it. Yet, that's the world we live in unfortunately. It's all about the he said she said bull shit, I'm like a chainsaw, I'll skin your ass raw.

That's a lot of freaking nerve on your part, Bando.  In another thread you are spreading a rumor that a former Florida Gator is speculating that Meyer will resign today.

So that's an okay rumor, but this (these) rumor(s) need to be shut down?

If true, most of this can be substantiated, multiple witnesses, call records, police reports.

This squares with the statement his lawyer made yesterday.

I ain't no Urban fan, but rushing to judgment here is premature.

As another commenter pointed out, even if true, why are you carrying this guy on your staff?

And why was he fired?

As an unemployed reporter, McMurphy was not writing a big check.

Funny that the Cleveland Plain-Dealer looked into how many times the cops were involved and found that she called them nine times between 1/1/2012 and 7/26/2018. So 911 sent out a squad one week ago

Makes me think that 911 didn't stop sending squads and that this is 100% victim blaming horseshit.

I live in Ohio (not sure how it works in other states) and I knew someone that did this.  She eventually was told that if she calls them again and they come out to no situation, she will be arrested.  So yea, that part is bullshit.  Also the whole child support thing, why would OSU even bring that up.  Smells fishy.

In a prior thread, GhostofJermaine said that there was an effort to attack the victim brewing between a couple of outlets. I expressed skepticism that media orgs would go in on victim-blaming here.

I was sort of right, because it looks like reputable news outlets have declined to be the first to pick this up, but obviously a Columbus Dispatch writer is involved and complicit, and the meat of what Ghost was suggesting is true. So I was technically kinda right and basically wrong.

This is some serious anti-victim blowback.

And the fact that it is on message boards like this allows people to get away with it, because even if some or all of this is made up, there's no newspaper or tv station to sue for libel.

No, that's  not true.  A few of the 11W faithful rather carefully questioned the iPhone model in question.  I thought it was an iPhone SE, but I'm not iPhone expert.

In any event, their forums have openly addressed the issue and they are up right now.

BTW I'm not a fan of attacking someone for not working while raising children. And while I doubt the shopping of a story, yeah, it's scary to lose income, that's one of the challenges that victims of domestic violence face, the possibility of financial harm to themselves due to the immoral behavior of their abuser.

Probably they read this tweet from Tony Gerdeman of the Ozone and agree with him.

"Please realize that your vocal support of Urban Meyer and your vocal condemnation of Courtney Smith on social media — while doing nothing to impact the proceedings — is being seen by victims of domestic violence and making an impact there, and not in a good way."

I don't doubt for a second she is looney.   Crazies are often attracted to other crazies.

But, assault is assault, no matter how you cut it.
