The reason MSU has dominated the rivalry as of late is because Dantonio lives, eats, and shits the rivalry. We are not going to take over the rivalry until Harbaugh can match that intensity and infuse it into his team.
Watching Harbaugh during the MSU week (or any rivalry week) you would think they are playing SMU not MSU. If he emphasis that game, you certainly wouldn't know it from his demeaner, attitude or pressers during that week. And watching the Amazon series, there was no evidence that the MSU week was any different than any other week.

quick history lesson junior, before msu's win in 2008 michigan had won 32 0f the previous 40 games. including msu never winning two games in a row. and yes all those games counted too. i watched everyone of those. so maybe this might turn around?

Give me a break. This is the dumbest take anyone ever has about Michigan/Michigan State. Dantonio dominated the rivalry the last 10 years because he was coaching against inferior coaches. If you honestly believe that "bulletin board material" or "chips on shoulders" matter over the course of 10 years you're just plain stupid. Dantonio is just far and away a better coach the RichRod and Hoke were. I think he and Harbaugh are about the same when it comes to coaching which is why it has been tight over the last three years in each game.
But maybe you're right, and Harbaugh's lack of emphasis and energy about that game specifically is the only reason the offense scored 10 points. It couldn't possibly be because Michigan had 5 turnovers.

They only lost 4 starters from last years team that won 10 games. You know Dantonio is going to have them ready to play; these aren't Ol Mike Hart's Spartans. Not to be that guy, but every year for the past umpteen years we think 'we got this', then those guys show up with more 'want this' and show us we're not quite there yet. It's going to be a battle in East Lansing, you may not be feeling the vibe now but you will be come the week of October 20th.
I understand what you are saying, but they are getting their ass kicked this year. They will not be able to run or pass against our defense and our offense is going to be in full swing when we meet them. This year is different because we return almost 80% of our offensive and defensive production from last year and we have added the #1 QB from 2016 to the mix. They are going to get thumped in their concrete shit hole stadium. Let them talk shit now. "Where did all the Spartans go?" I'm going to be laughing at that video this year I'm sure of it.
I hope you're right, but solely based on what I saw from UM on offense last year I'm not willing to say anything like that yet. I know our defense will be solid, but until I see the improved offense for myself I'm not going to claim any dominant win against MSU. Luckily we'll get to see what the offense has before then, but I think there's too many questions unanswered for anybody to be too confident.
Gotta want it. I must say, it always seems like State wants it a lot more than Michigan does. I think this year should be a Revenge Tour for Harbaugh and Michigan. They just gotta bring it.
Dude, they have not shown up with more "want this" since harbaugh has been here. Just because they have had some insane luck to win 2 of 3 does not mean they wanted it more. In fact, I would say the fact that Michigan had a -5 turn over deficit, and still had a chance to win at the end, is proof Michigan "wanted it" more.
