2019 MBB Recruiting: 6'6" G Cole Bajema

Submitted by ypsituckyboy on

Beilein was out in the Seattle area watching him yesterday. Looks like Bajema may even be up to 6'7" now. Hhandles the ball decently for that size. Skinny as a rail and plenty of room to add weight. Not a superior athlete, but most of the video is at least a year old and the kid looks like he was a really late bloomer so it's hard to say where's he at now on that front. Gonna need to start that shooting motion higher and move it closer to his body, but, again, that's partially growth/strength related.

Currently a 2* and the only offer I can find is San Francisco, although I recall seeing somewhere that one of the directional Washington schools offered.

No idea how Beilein goes about projecting out these late bloomer types. I'd look at this tape and have no idea what level this kid should play at in 2-3 years.

I would prefer Rocket Watts to close out the class. McDaniels is not a realistic option IMO. I believe the internet rumors with Watts are that his dad is pro UM but there are some other "outside factors" that are pointing him to other schools.

He goes to high school at my alma mater and I've played a decent amount of ball with him.  He's going to be really good.  He was a late bloomer.  Shot up to 6-7/6-8 really fast from his freshman year to now.  He's going to be a really good college player.  Think Duncan but with better handles and athleticism.  Once he gets into Michigan's strength program, he's going to get really big and strong.  This would be a great get for Beilein.

Homer!!!!

I don't know about much athleticism.  He looked slow and didn't particularly have that great of ups.

It appears he plays with a bunch of munchkins.  I believe Coach B is in on better talent, and we should prioritize them.  If Beilein wants him at the end of the recruiting process....great! If not, oh well.
