I hate night games
I live 1500 miles away and work Saturdays, I love night games.
Spath also said Michigan and ND would play an outdoor hockey game.
That’s not happening and there wasn’t any mention of it in either team’s schedule release. ND’s says both games will be played at their home arena.
As far as this goes, not surprised.
The game last year set a (bad) precedent for future Michigan-MSU games to be at night.
Nebraska was already a clue based on the Maize Out being on the tickets.
PSU I’ll believe when I see it. Warden said there would only be 1 night game at home this year since last year we had 2.
The ND/Michigan game that weekend is TBA with the location. That means it has yet to be announced. How about you have some patience before you go shooting off at the mouth junior.
ND’s schedule says it’s at Compton Ice Arena, senior.
in reality it is TBA, which is all I am going to say douchenozzle.
this is from the press release on mgoblue.com
One change has been made to the conference schedule. Instead of the Maize and Blue traveling to South Bend, Indiana, for a weekend series against Notre Dame on Jan. 4-5, the teams will play only one game that weekend. Michigan will travel to South Bend for the Jan. 5 contest against the Fighting Irish, while the second game of the series is now scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 12.
Figured Penn State and at MSU would be, sounded like Nebraska was a candidate when they announced Maize Out. Makes sense all around.
Yep. Zero percent surprise on any of these decisions if it comes to fruition.
Will you be surprised if it doesn't come to fruition or are you one of these guys that is never surprised?
Expect the unexpected.
But also expect the expected.
If you expect the unexpected, it becomes the expected.
Meaning you have to find something else which WAS unexpected, and it too becomes the expected. Ad nauseam.
There is no unexpected, only Zuul.
I thought the State game was likely to be a 4 o’clock game given the things airing on Fox that day.
A night game at MSU? That should certainly go well.
We have a pretty good night, road game record. The last one I remember (finishing, because I don't think we've ever started) in the dark in EL was the Henne to Manningham comeback win.
I wasnt referring to our chances of winning (although my memory of our night game performance is different than yours obviously....Iowa (cough, cough), Penn State (cough, cough), Notre Dame.....
I was referring to the prospect of 75,000 or so wacked-out, drunken jugallos vs advances in western civilization.
Reddit CFB Risk was actually a trial run for this one.
That's because you're old and your memory is starting to go. We are 20-12 all time in road night games. We are 4-1 in home night games.
Yeah, my advice is just don't go. Watch this one from your couch. I've gone to a day game at EL, it's not a pretty sight, so I would certainly not recommend a night contest.
Non-burning couch is preferred.
I'm not sure a couch is the safest place when MSU is involved.
The beautiful glow, of the burning couches, in the night sky will add a nice ambiance to the scene regardless.
I've gone there twice vs us and didn't see anything disorderly, the worst thing that happened was I got flipped off by some chick in 2011.
Yeah, they’re abnoxious but tend to disappear when they lose.
I had to google jugallos. That might not be fair to them. Jugallos I mean.
Hide your daughters.
MSU at night in EL?
Oh, yeah, I gotta go to that (armed, of course!).
I'll have to check that my Virginia CC is valid in Michigan.
I used to love night games, but as an adult I hate them with a passion. I for one like to go to bed at a reasonable time.
I don't mind them since my child goes to bed at 7:30.
This!
As an honorary old man I agree.
Get back way too late. And if it’s a loss? Yikes.
Worst experience ever was that MSU game last year. From the amount of people clogging up the roads because they don’t even have tickets but just want to run around and act a fool to the being rained on in my face as JOK gave away the game.
Only good night game experience I’ve had was 2014 and even then, there was a student section planned walkout that didn’t happen so times were not good.
" honorary old man " ???
Aren't you in your low/mid 20s? Those are your prime.
Low/mid 20s are the new mid/high 60s
If WD is an honorary old man I must be an honorary dead man.
mGrowPetrified?
Prime for what?
My prime will be when I'm fully established and am a home owner. I got my degree this past spring and the real world struggle has begun. At least 1/3 of my season ticket goals have been fulfilled with MBB tickets.
Homeowner? You must spend a mortgage payment a month on Michigan shit. Seriously, add it up.
I haven’t bought anything since Softball won the B1G and it was a T-shirt.
As the Notorious B.I.G. once said, "mo money, mo problems". Wait until you get married, and have kids, then you'll realize what it's like to feel old.
2017 MSU was bad but 2015 MSU was much, much worse. The rain drove a way a ton of those tailgaters without tickets.
Good. More night games the better.
What exactly is a "reasonable time"? Do you have to be somewhere early on Sunday morning, like work or church?
Personally, I don't do anything on Sunday morning except sleep, so I don't really care how late the game goes if I'm watching it on TV. But I can understand parents not wanting their kids up till the middle of the night for the game.
3:30 and evening games also work better for me because I have a family, oddly enough, and especially if I am going by myself because then I've had the day with them at least. I am also not a morning person, so it is a real drag to get to a noon game, and for noon games, the only thing I want is coffee. Later on in the day, I am all on board with full-on tailgating.
I work Sunday through Thursday, so yes, night games can be a pain in the neck. At the same time, it doesn’t stop me from staying up to go to the game or watching from home.
Ok gramps.
MSU night game is going to be rough when we beat the crap out of them.
We'll need these for the team and band to get home...
They’ll find a way to torch that, too.
