Talking Cars Tuesday - Do You Name Your Cars/Trucks?

As long as I can remember, we have named many/most/all of our cars. That includes when I was a kid (cars were a new invention at the time), I remember we had a '62 Buick station wagon called 'Dunphy', perfect for a small, plastic upholstery car. These last years we've been on more of a super hero theme, for instance Bob Tomato and Larry the Cucumber of Veggie Tales, and Thor and Captain America ('Cap') of more famous super hero background.
So the question is: Do you name your cars, and what is/are the names?
Extra points: posting a picture of said car(s)
Double extra points: talking us less-intelligent folks through the process of posting a picture
Triple extra points: getting the blog to go back to the old 'cut and paste' days of posting pics...

Named my first "new" car Alice when it went past 257k miles (as in, "To the moon, Alice!"). Prior to that it was just "baby", a red 1998 Honda CR-V. Alice was eventually sold for $900, with over 458k miles at the time. Don't have a pic of the car, actually, but did find this memento of the high mileage.
Can't seem to resize it. Grr.
Ha, mis-remembered the distance to the Moon. It's 238k.
Had that exact same car during my undergrad. Amazingly useful and reliable car.
Used to get so much grief for not buying American and used to get made fun of for having such a small "truck"
This was in the era of $1.50 gas and Ford pushing the acceptable limits of low MPG.
i'm impressed. I just got rid of my 2003 G35 with 280,000 miles on it for $700. the original transmission was finally starting to slip and the repair would have been 3 times the value of the car.
I used to name them back in college, but I took a job with an OEM and i’ve had at least 50 different cars that were ‘mine’ since then. The bond weakens when you swap cars that often. I liken it to the hotel room phenomenon. Hotels are magical when you’re a kid/in college. Once your job requires you to live in one most every week, they start to wear on you.
I didn't always. It started about three cars ago, the first being a seldom used nickname and the last two being actual names.
First was a 2003 Chevy Monte Carlo. That car was silver and looked faster than it really was to me so I sometimes referred to it as a silver bullet.
Next up was a 2007 Toyota Avalon. A former friend told me I needed to name the car and suggested Guinevere, the wife of King Authur who was taken to the Isle of Avalon.
Gwen, as I usually called her, was replaced last year with a new Toyota Highlander. keeping with the idea of naming cars, this one seemed obvious enough to me. I named her Heather, the first wife of Connor MacLeod from the Highlander series.
I gave you a point that won't register in honor of your mentioning Highlander.

I have a Mini, John Cooper Works hatchback,named the Warp 5. A small bit very quick vehicle.
No. Don't own any, but the ones I did in the past were already named by the manufacturer. Cars are tools to get you from one place to another, not children or dogs.
To many people, cars are a significant part of their life. For some they are just transportation, for some just a fun hobby, but for others, car culture is their way of life outside of work. Before I got married, much of my spare time was spent hanging out with friends from various car clubs, going to shows, wrenching, driving, detailing, etc. Met a whole ton of awesome people from diverse backgrounds. Took a lot of awesome trips and drove beautiful roads I'd never have seen otherwise.
I read somewhere that cars which are given names last longer on average; doubtless a result of the psychology of people who tend to name their vehicles.
My dad had a series of red sedans (early 80s Accord, early 90s Dodge Spirit, mid 00s Altima) which were all named Rosie.
My black Accord is Alfred (as in Bruce Wayne's butler).
My Sienna minivan is Vincent (as in van Gogh).
I was just talking about this the other day. I never have, just never really seemed to care..or find a name that fit...but i thought about it recently because I just bought a new '18 Charger, that is "yellowjacket" yellow. Guy bought it for $37.5k, lot of upgrades, and wife told him to take it back with 250 miles on it. Next day I show up, and buy it for 23.5k.
If anyone has any names I'm open to suggestions.
Also, posting pictures seems pretty easy. Not sure about on mobile. I select the picture icon to insert pictures using ICME File Managaer, then upload the photos into the pop up box...then select and they were added.

What kind of idiot buys a new 2018 for $37.5K, drives it for 250 miles, and then sells it for $14,000 less than what he originally paid for it? That's insane depreciation for a vehicle that's not even one model year old.

My parents name all their cars. The Isuzu Rodeo growing up was Suzie. The 1989 pontiac lemans was Joe, because it was he was average "Joe". Joe got a lot of work with no break downs. 3 boys learning stick and many Michigan Winters.

My favorite truck ever was my previous truck that was totaled when some chick in a Toyota Camry was going 80+ mph down I-94 in a blizzard. 2-3 inches of snow and slush on the highway even with plows/salt. As soon as she got to passing me she ate shit and slammed into me. She also managed to take out the car behind me after smashing into me. Everyone was OK but she almost pushed me into a semi and it could have been much worse had i hit the semi and it jack-knifed.
It was a fire red Ram 1500 bighorn. Her name was Ruby. I now have a charcoal colored Ram 1500 bighorn .... no more names.

I only named a car that I owned once, and it was mainly in jest because after so many years of owning it, I thought that it probably deserved a name.
I had a 1998 Prizm from 1997 to early 2011 (13 years, 4 months approximately) and I eventually began to call it One Sick Car, mainly because of its greenish hue.
My cars usually name themselves. POS, PITA, FUBAR, Z, Slaab, Boo Boo...
My current car is Bucephalus.
Meet Franz. My 2002 Audi A6 4.2 with sports suspension, seats, and wheels package and a thirst for high octane gas. Named Franz, because the car was "pumped up" and German, of course. I loved the fender flares on this car. The sport seats were very unforgiving at times and the sport suspension was not agreeable with Chicago winters, so Franz would make you feel "girly man" at times. My 2011 BMW 335xi was named Hans. He was not quite so pumped up and would not give you a sore ass.

Franz was a bad ass dude, but we had a bit of a love-hate relationship driven by my local dealer's service department. They warped all 4 rotors doing a winter/summer wheel changeover and somehow managed to destroy a tire (ruined the bead) by driving on it while flat. They replaced the tire and I got it back with the wheel out of balance. Had to go to Discount Tire to get that fixed. Turned out I had two wheels out of balance. I'd go in for service and get a car back with 4 wildly different tire inflation readings. They eventually fired the tech and made sure to tell me they changed out their wheel balancing equipment, but I was very ready to move on to another vehicle by the time that happened.
Absolutely. I had a '92 Ford Explorer that was named Blue Beast, then a black 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport called Black Jack, now I have a silver 2007 Chrysler Town and Country that I named Silver Bullet in order to maintain some dignity.
I don't name my cars, but my wife has named my current. It's a red Fusion hybrid, and she hates it. Says it sits too low, and (because she's short) the seat belts don't slide low enough to avoid giving her the feeling that they'll decapitate her in a front end collision. She named it Christine.
However, I call my Waze navigator Kate (because of the voice I selected - the British female Kate), and talk to her quite a bit. My wife hates her like she's some kind of girlfriend I have on the side. Completely irrational...
I changed my contact name in my phone to 'Big Daddy' just so I can see the look on my wife's face when I say 'Hello Siri!' and she responds 'Hello, Big Daddy'
Just bought a white 2015 Tahoe last fall and we already had a blue 2006 Tahoe so we decided we had to name them since they were both Tahoe's. The white one is HAIL and the blue one is Victor.
I own a 2001 Ford Excusion that I bought new some 17 years ago and has 204,000 miles on it. The name I gave it immediately upon purchase, as a salute to the Simpsons, is Truckosaurus and it has stuck. Everyone that I know calls it that.
Just bought a travel trailer and needed a truck to pull it. Bought a big, blue F-150 and it seemed natural to name it Mo' Vaggoner.
I had a 1966 Ford Mustang, painted "emberglo," which is a deep rust/orange color. I named her "Penny."
I love cars. Love them.
But here I admit I'm completely lacking. To me the Ford is just 'The Ford' (not even it's model name) and the Jeep is just 'The Jeep'.
Same. My car name history is "The Jeep", "The Jeep", "The CC", and "The GTI".

Yep! Still has the golf-ball shifter too. Mine's a stick, I think the DCT/Manual take rate is about 50/50 in the GTI. Mine is leather, but they'll still sell you Tartan too.
