Speaking of Recruits Trending Away From Michigan, Kyle Ford Has Had a Slew of Crystal Balls to USC

Title says it all. This sucks because many of the insiders were saying he wanted out of L.A. (top 3 of Colorado, Oregon, and Michigan) and it looked like we had a great chance.

We recruited 4 WRs two years ago and took just 1 or 2 last year (depending on how you characterize Barrett. Brian says we took one and calls Bell "a flyer"). We are probably going to have a significant gap in the future if we don't get someone in this class.

Well, if any recruits have paid any attention to our passing game over the last two years, they probably don't care to come to Michigan. But the fact is we have two four star WR's (one who looks like a 5*) with freshman eligibility on the squad this year. I don't think anyone in their right mind ever thought we were going to pull a high 4* from LA.

We'll get a WR or two in this class but not this guy.

He was always a longshot.   We would love to get him, and not all hope is lost. Regardless, there are a lot of outstanding players who have chosen Michigan and many more who will in the future. We have plenty of talent to compete with the big boys.

I know it’s heresy around here to say bad things about Beilein these days but his recruiting has always been shit when it comes to wide receivers.

When I walk around the campus these days, I'm always amazed at how much its changed since the day I arrived there as a freshman in 1977.  Certainly, a huge amount of money has been spent replacing and renovating buildings like West Quad.  One of the most amazing makeovers is the whole area of the campus around the power plant area where all the new life science buildings are.  That area is unrecognizable compared to my days on campus when it was the arm pit of central campus.

Not surprising. SoCal WR's of his caliber go to USC- and they will get the ballz until there is a really good reason to think they will end up elsewhere.

I love the direction of our program but when the hell is Michigan going to overachieved? What's aggravating is MSU doing well with lower ranked classes and PSU winning the Fing big10 after sanctions. Irks me to no end. We need to win and win this year to win these recruiting wars going forward. Crushing USC for old times sake wouldn't hurt either.

Unpossible—an elite WR from southern California has never stayed home to play for USC before. They’ve always come to the midwest to play for Michigan until Harbaugh was hired.
