DVR-Michigan Football Classics Enhanced

Submitted by goblue85 on

Good news,  BTN is showing some new classics from the past and Carr days this week.

Monday 7/16-  2003 Michigan vs Ohio State 9pm BTN   100th GAME   Chris Perry 2 TDS,  Gameday was there.   I was there on the golf course and watch it on the jumbotron.  It was great memory.

Thursday 7/19- 2004 Michigan vs Michigan State 9 pm BTN   3OT classic-  Braylon 3 TDS   I was at this game with my buddies.   Remember when we went down 27-10, should we leave, so glad we stuck around for this one.  Its the loudest I heard the stadium in all my years being up there.

i lost my voice at the 3OT State game.  Loudest I've ever heard that stadium.  Unbelievable.

It felt as though the louder the fans got during the game the better the team did so the crowd just kept getting louder.  could barely speak for several days but totally worth it.

one of the best games i've ever attended.

But... But... But... Michigan Stadium couldn't get loud until they added the new press boxes and hired Special K!

Seriously, though. That game was nuts. I was on the field. All of my friends in the student section bailed early from a combination of halloween costumes, early dark and cold, and the third quarter looking how it did. Their loss.

Only time I heard the stadium louder (keep in mind this is pre-2005) was the '97 OSU game, and I was in the student section for that one.

My wife was worn out and asking if it was time to exit. I said, "let's see what happens on this drive." Bomb to Braylon, field goal, not decisive either way, let's see what happens next...

Onside kick.

2 hours later we were headed to the car, hoarse but happy.

definitely was a loud game but i don't recall it being as loud as the 3OT state game but that could just be because i don't remember losing my voice for that one.  i had a long stretch before moving out of michigan of never missing the OSU game in a2 so i was definitely there just not sure what condition i would have been in during my underclassman years....

I was supposed to stop by a reception after the 2004 MSU game. I managed to get there just as they were cleaning up, and already on the way to drunk. No need for the open bar.

That's what people get for scheduling special events during football season - you get late, not entirely sober me.

It's nice not to watch the Citrus Bowl vs. Florida for the billionth time. Did something change recently, giving them rights to these particular broadcasts? Or is there a standard 15-year embargo?

The 2005 Penn State game could match any other game in terms of temporary volume intensity.  Last play starting with one second to play, touchdown pass to Manningham -- cost PSU an undefeated season besides pissing of Joe Pa immeasurably.  Love to see that one again.

Got tickets for Braylonfest.  The game time wasn't announced until a little over a week beforehand and I remember being shocked when mgoblue.com said it was a 4:30 start.  I figured (at the time) this would be the closest Michigan would ever come to a night game.  The sky was pitch black long before the overtimes started.

I was in the opposite end zone of all the action.  Only Mike Hart's 1st quarter touchdown happened in front of us.  I had to watch the crowd's reaction from the other side of the stadium to know if Tim Massaquoi caught the 2 point conversion in the third overtime.  The crowd pleaded, begged, screamed for Carr to have us start throwing the damn ball for most of the second half.   It was windy all day, which made every field goal and PAT attempt extremely nerve wrecking.

It's still hard to accurately describe the feeling once that game was over.  As the crowd was going nuts, I let out one huge scream, hugged my dad, high fived the guy behind me and then I had to sit down because I felt like I was going to pass out.
