It's incredible that the guy has been able to parlay hot shooting in a mere six (or was it just five when he signed?) summer league games - games that are lightly coached and not scouted at all such that they're essentially pickup games - into a two-way deal.

Awesome for Duncan.  Way to hit the shots when it matters most for you.

Internet high-five from another board member with ties to both the Ephs and the Wolverines.

And kudos to Duncan. As I said in another thread, every other school in the NCAA must be thanking their lucky stars right now that Beilein is the most ethical guy out there. Because if recruits could choose both the usual payouts AND Beilein's development, there's no doubt in my mind that Michigan would be the Alabama of college basketball right now.

Eh, I doubt it's that simple anyway.  "We can take over this business that built a brand by doing the little things right, and cut ethical corners like crazy, and we'll make lots more money without losing any of their established customers!  I'm a genius!" said every dumbass MBA-toting Dave Brandon twatwaffle investor, ever.

You don't have to be ethical to be a successful coach, but some of what Beilein gets out of his players is because he's John effin' Beilein.

It is a super short list of players to go from D3 beginnings to a productive NBA player, I'm a little skeptical. His perimeter defense needs work, but if you can shoot (he can shoot, as it turns out) and play defense (marked improvement in early 2018) he might find a role.
