Michigan gets first crystal ball for Zach Harrison

Submitted by Bo Schemheckler on

Looking at his history it seems like a guy who throws some things out there based on possible rumors but he is 12 for 13 so far this year so there's that.

This is a shot in the arm for the eager Michigan fan in July. Zach is a ridiculous athlete, and you get the vibe from the industry that he is extremity conflicted about his decision. That should be a great sign of hope for us, considering that he lives in Columbus and must feel constant and relentless pressure from that awful local fan-base. Hopefully this CB is spot on. Zach would fit in really well with Mattison and the boys.

I am guessing that NJ Victor heard Herron’s interview with Sam Webb.  After hearing that interview, you could sense that the flip seems forthcoming.  Also, after hearing the interview, you may not be sad to see him go.  We want players at Michigan that want to go to Michigan. Not players who are holding out for something better.

I'm not saying it's gonna happen, but if we got Karlaftis and/or Harrsion it would make a flip a lot easier to take. I honestly don't know what's gonna happen with him, but I'm not particularly confident in his commitment. Sam Webb interviewed him at the Opening and he said he's said he's firm on his commitment multiple times, but also listed himself on the official Opening roster as "uncommitted" with no valid explanation for it and also said he's still in contact and has a good relationship with Stanford. Also, every time he would say something that sounded like it was confirming his commitment, he would end it with "but I'm gonna do what's best for me" or something along those lines

I wouldn’t be shocked if Harrison played Anchor in our system and not End. He’s super skinny at 6’6 245. A college weight program will get him to 280 easily without sacrificing his athleticism. Now, that could look like Taco or that could like Rashan. If he’s still super fast and athletic at 280 he could go to 290. However, I can’t see him playing college ball at under 270, at which point you might as well play him at Anchor unless you have another 275-290lb stud over there.

I wanna be hopeful but I’ve played this game before. Apart from my skepticism about Harrison picking UM, I wonder if Petzold is simply playing for crystal ball points, if that’s still a thing...?

Winning 10 games this season will got a long way in keeping the kids we have so, far and getting those top recruits who have Michigan on their list.

This ball is kind of like getting a hand-me-down first bike. It's not the one you really wanted, it's probably not the safest, your neighbors have much better ones, but you finally got one. You're just happy to have it, and you don't care that it's gonna make you cry in a few weeks when it fails/breaks.

No, no, no.

A Columbus kid who has seen OSU have a better season than Michigan year after year, but if Michigan does better this season he's coming here. That's nonsense.

He's a lot smarter than you're giving him credit for. He's got a lot to consider. And by the way, he's planning to decide before the season starts.

I believe Buckeye OL Michael Jordan was from Ohio and moved to Michigan young. That didn't give Michigan a leg-up in that race.

I'm not saying i disagree with you (i think he'll stay in Columbus) but i don't think it's necessarily because of his family's fandom the last few years.

I'm not completely writing off Harrison to Michigan but I'd be more optimistic if he hadn't called Larry Johnson the best DL coach in the game. That's the main reason he'll cite if he chooses OSU.

Also, if it were me, I'd plan to enroll at Michigan early and announce my decision just before I left, not before my senior year started.

It's his parent. They want him to go Ohio St. It has nothing to do with the DL coach. he thinks Ben Herbert, Al Washington, and Don Drown are great. It is all about his parents. He's a kid. He will go where his parents want him to go. Who knows, maybe they will give in to his wishes and let him got Blue.
