Michigan gets first crystal ball for Zach Harrison
Looking at his history it seems like a guy who throws some things out there based on possible rumors but he is 12 for 13 so far this year so there's that.

This is a shot in the arm for the eager Michigan fan in July. Zach is a ridiculous athlete, and you get the vibe from the industry that he is extremity conflicted about his decision. That should be a great sign of hope for us, considering that he lives in Columbus and must feel constant and relentless pressure from that awful local fan-base. Hopefully this CB is spot on. Zach would fit in really well with Mattison and the boys.
Well the kid did say he was conflicted and torn in an interview, so I guess the "industry" has a good source. He'll go to OSU and we will steal George from Purdue.
I just shivered thinking of that DL class. Harrison and Karlaftis outside. Smith and Hinton (since he'll probably move inside) inside. Then losing Herron won't sting as much. Damn, I want that so bad
Why do you think we’re losing Herron?
I am guessing that NJ Victor heard Herron’s interview with Sam Webb. After hearing that interview, you could sense that the flip seems forthcoming. Also, after hearing the interview, you may not be sad to see him go. We want players at Michigan that want to go to Michigan. Not players who are holding out for something better.
If he is “at Michigan”...wouldn’t that mean he can’t be “at” another school?
I'm not saying it's gonna happen, but if we got Karlaftis and/or Harrsion it would make a flip a lot easier to take. I honestly don't know what's gonna happen with him, but I'm not particularly confident in his commitment. Sam Webb interviewed him at the Opening and he said he's said he's firm on his commitment multiple times, but also listed himself on the official Opening roster as "uncommitted" with no valid explanation for it and also said he's still in contact and has a good relationship with Stanford. Also, every time he would say something that sounded like it was confirming his commitment, he would end it with "but I'm gonna do what's best for me" or something along those lines
Yeah that just sounds like a shitty deal. Obviously the staff wants him but when you are doing stuff like that, the writing is on the wall. It's his own fault that Michigan is going after other defensive ends.
tFiF, yep, and better ones to boot.
It's Greek tragedy, Harbaugh needed to resurrect Stanford as springboard eventual dream job as Michigan coach, only to have Stanford in some fashion his greatest recruiting enemy.
I wouldn’t be shocked if Harrison played Anchor in our system and not End. He’s super skinny at 6’6 245. A college weight program will get him to 280 easily without sacrificing his athleticism. Now, that could look like Taco or that could like Rashan. If he’s still super fast and athletic at 280 he could go to 290. However, I can’t see him playing college ball at under 270, at which point you might as well play him at Anchor unless you have another 275-290lb stud over there.
Isn't an "Anchor" a DE with an emphasis on certain responsibilities?
Yes - the strong side end. Gary/Wormley.
Herron will be in the class. Hes said as much.
Look at Doc Brown and his DeLorean, everybody!
I wanna be hopeful but I’ve played this game before. Apart from my skepticism about Harrison picking UM, I wonder if Petzold is simply playing for crystal ball points, if that’s still a thing...?
Petzold CB’d Eyabi Anoma to UM last year, about ten minutes before Anoma chose Bama. His was the only UM crystal ball and clearly added for speculative points
Dude is not much, if anything, if an insider. Harrison may have legit interest, but Petzold’s CB is meaningless.
Really, I don't think we need to be listening to people with crystal balls. Leadership belongs more to those with titanium balls.
I'm more of a brass balls guy myself...
Both you guys are hanging tough...
Let’s not forget ‘Iron Balls’ McGinty
Doing it 10 minutes before the announcement gives the the guesser basically 0 points.
Harrison wants to go with Michigan. But BOTH his parents want him to go with Ohio St. If his parents soften and allow Michigan he is going Blue.
Fuck Ohio St.!
It's happening!
Winning 10 games this season will got a long way in keeping the kids we have so, far and getting those top recruits who have Michigan on their list.
Having Gary go top 5 in the draft is just as important. It’s been a while.
If this team does not have 2-3 go in the first round I would be very surprised. In fact, multiple sites have Shea going 1 overall. Add in Gary who's also top 5, Bush, Hill, Long, Winovich, and maybe Higdon all should go first 3 rounds. Going to be a special year.

Feel like you've been away ghost. Welcome back. The board needs more of you around.
Thank you.
Got a new job...
Still many friends around the team, and many kids I care strongly about. Will do my best to get on here more. I think the new site is great. Going to poke around more, go blue!
If shea goes 1 overall, that will mean we win at least 10 this year.
The NFL draft won't have any impact on any of these recruits. They will already have signed their LOIs and many of them will already be on campus somewhere.
Well, that might help 2020 kids, but not Harrison and Karlaftis, since they would've signed somewhere long before the draft
I’ll take it. Hope he comes to Michigan
This ball is kind of like getting a hand-me-down first bike. It's not the one you really wanted, it's probably not the safest, your neighbors have much better ones, but you finally got one. You're just happy to have it, and you don't care that it's gonna make you cry in a few weeks when it fails/breaks.
Agreed. I do enjoy seeing a CB to UM but it’s also far from worth it to build up a bunch of hype for potentially another big let down. I think we’ve had too many of those as of late.
His decision will probably come down to who has the better season this year. You know it and I know it
No, no, no.
A Columbus kid who has seen OSU have a better season than Michigan year after year, but if Michigan does better this season he's coming here. That's nonsense.
He's a lot smarter than you're giving him credit for. He's got a lot to consider. And by the way, he's planning to decide before the season starts.
Honestly, there is ZERO chance he comes here. A 5 star is not leaving Columbus under urban's watch. It's nice to be in the mix, but anyone who actually thinks there's a realistic chance is severely misguided.
He's not 'from' that truck stop. His family moved there several years ago, so he doesn't have that lifelong attraction that is impossible to break. He's a legit threat to end up at UM. I hope he does...
I hope he does too. But moving there a couple years ago makes you from there, wrt Columbus. He's lived the during his formative years. No way he gets out.
if that were speculation that would be one thing but he himself said "I'm not from Columbus" He's from Chicago, his parents likely watched Harbaugh play for the Bears. This is why we have a chance and he's not committed to the Buckeyes already.
I believe Buckeye OL Michael Jordan was from Ohio and moved to Michigan young. That didn't give Michigan a leg-up in that race.
I'm not saying i disagree with you (i think he'll stay in Columbus) but i don't think it's necessarily because of his family's fandom the last few years.
I'm not completely writing off Harrison to Michigan but I'd be more optimistic if he hadn't called Larry Johnson the best DL coach in the game. That's the main reason he'll cite if he chooses OSU.
Also, if it were me, I'd plan to enroll at Michigan early and announce my decision just before I left, not before my senior year started.
It's his parent. They want him to go Ohio St. It has nothing to do with the DL coach. he thinks Ben Herbert, Al Washington, and Don Drown are great. It is all about his parents. He's a kid. He will go where his parents want him to go. Who knows, maybe they will give in to his wishes and let him got Blue.
Anyone who speaks in absolutes, especially when hes not talking to the subject every day about his feelings, is severely misguided.
...or is a Sith.
… or both.
Kyle kalis came here
Kalis wasn't from Columbus.
